I know, I think Cairn Terriers have a thing about balls. Mine loves playing fetch with balls also. But only balls, he doesn't like frisbee, doesn't like plush toys, or sticks, just balls. No matter how far, how bouncy, or how hard it is, he always brings it back.
My Cairn Terrier...Taffy...is ball mad too !!!! I trained him at a very early age to return the ball to my feet and he does it every single time w/o fail no matter how far the bal has been thrown. He'd run himself into a standtill chasing balls if I'd let him. He's a great pal and I wouldn't swop him for a ton of gold.
i play baseball with my cairn, i hit the tennis ball with a bat and she fetchs it, but when she gets bored i hit the ball and she just stares at it, doesnt move just keeps her ears up and stares at it lol
