  • 60 fps or gtfo

  • lol honestly, i think any viewable Frames-per-second in a game is more psychologically damaging than anything else. Played BFBC2 a lot. One day I got a look at my fps and instantly felt crippled. I've always played the game perfectly fine. The evidently low fps never really showed in terms of choppiness or lag or anything, but knowing what FPS you're getting kinda makes people worry more than they should.

  • Meh, 30 frames is more than enough. Only competitive gaming needs more. For him to say anything less than 60 fps is a broken game is mindboggling and to be honest, quite elitist(look at me, I got great gear hurr durr). 24 fps is a bit low yes, but it's still playable. Hell, often in mmo's, my fps crap down to shit very fast in crowded areas and I still play them. Raiding on WoW, as an example, often had some serious fps issues, especially with a few addons, and they still got run regularly.

  • I have an average of 20 FPS in Minecraft and Starcraft II.

  • lol on my old computer I remember playing halo 2 at 7 fps

  • I thought TB would have a computer faaaaaaaaar better than mine. I'm glad to hear were near next to each other. i7 2600k, SLI'd 580s and 16 gigs RAM here. I have to agree. FPS and FOV need a standard on PC. I'm sick of going into the console and having to change this shit.

  • I <3 the filler :D

  • 60 fps great. 30 fps good could do better. 60 + very good. 24 WTF THAT IS AWFUL!

  • @GamesByCore 24 is the fps of every movie ever made you really have a problem with that?

  • @JSpark135 Irrelevant. :)

  • @GamesByCore 24 well if you think about it in certain older games doesnt matter that much(i am thinking platformers or slower paced games). on new games with awesome visuals yeah....you NEED 40-60+

  • I think he meant rage

  • @neilens ahah sorry for the errors xD I'm actually not English native speaker, I'm italian and those mistakes happen all the times xD

  • Paradox is fucking stupid.

  • i only ever play games higher then 40 fps

  • Okay, let's not mix up the facs, 24 FPS is not 24 Hz and yes, TVs do have more than 24 Hz (LCDs actually don't need to, since the don't flicker like CRTs did). And yes, 24 FPS is plenty for movies because of a single catch, that video games don't have - motion blur. Take a look at a single frame in a film and a single frame from a game. A game will be completely crisp while moving stuff on film will be blurred. That's why we don't see it choppy and don't deem it a problem.

  • Thank you TotalHailbut for bringing some sense into these senseless companies that claim you can play a game proper at 24fps. I was hoping KA2 was going to have better fps than the 1st one, this was simply not the case. I uninstalled the game after about an hour of playing it. Very disappointed in Neocore, will never buy their products. I'm not going to support a developer that's not in touch with pc gamers. Maybe 24fps is ok for console scrubs but hardcore pc gamers with highend machines? No.

  • @Z0mb13N1nja consoles run at 30-60 fps normally depending on the graphics quality of the game.

but yes pc games need to run a minimum of 30fps for me and 100 at most anything higher than that for me doesn't work to well.

  • @drogon223 LOL for me without limit framerate option minecraft goes to 1000fps.

IDK how or if that even is true, but that's what it is showing

  • @HeWhoShamesNarwhals thats how many frames ur video card can process per sec (its also the number of fps u can record with fraps or other programs)

However ur monitor can only have electricity flow through it so many times without it exploding so ur only really seeing 60 fps (for average monitors) or up to 120 fps for gaming monitors.

  • These rage videos are really not enjoyable to watch I must say. Hearing a guy go on and on about one issue, repeating and reiterating what he's already said.

Also, with regards to the FPS issue, I think he's misrepresenting the facts. When the quote said "24 fps is fluid motion", it means exactly that. 24 represents fluild motion, it didn't say 24 represents real life or that it can't be improved upon, just that it's a baseline standard for producing fluid motion.

  • lol @ skyline. i have a Cineworld unlimited pass (fixed monthly pay for unlimited viewings) but i still feel cheated after watching that at the cinema where can i get those hours of my life back ?:(

but on subject. I cant believe they said that about 24fps, unacceptable i was considering the game now i have made my mind up, staying away from it.

  • @pandafuhrer If you think so; why do you even look at his videos -.- I don't find him as a regular player that only talks about shit. This man know his stuff. He takes a lot of his time to give us really good information.

  • The first King Arthur game was a little problematic and they fixed it, I believe they will fix this one as well. Check it out people, it's a good game !

  • i shit my pants when i can run any game with at least 18fps on lowest graphic settings(mostly tf2 =3), hell i can do great in lobbys, so i wonder how much better id be at 60. if you cant do good at 24 idk maybe you just suck in my opinion

  • @SirRodrickTheThird I am similar to you, having a crappy computer has forced me to play well at a lower fps. On a similar note, my friends first had an xbox they forced me to play with the broken controller that forced you to move at an angle, so I couldn't move straight. I suppose I got used to the handicap. =P

  • Hooray! Someone else hated skyline as much as me!

  • Portal 2, even though having the multiplayer campaign (without significant replay value), is a really expensive game in my opinion.

  • @rautasydan It was on sale for €7.5 in the winter sale

  • @Alexz158 it was not the expansion pack it was the game....

  • TB alone is giving me hope for the PC gaming industry.

  • I've been a gamer on the PC for about 18 years now, and I've come to accept that while 60fps is the "sweet spot" for many of my games, I'm quite satisfied with 30fps in most cases, so long as the game doesn't look like dog muck. Anything below 30 (particularly below 25) seems really choppy and makes my eyes hurt after a few minutes.

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS A 40 POUNDS?

  • @DrJoebert have you read a book?.....ever.....

  • ...............I find it very insulting that he said *crappy warhammer novel* some of those books are bloody awesome, the gotrek and felix breastslayer book was amazing, perhaps even better written than the a song of ice and fire series, the battle at the end was amazingly done, so much action and in short paragraphs which kept the pace quick which suited the battle going on very well. Conclusion, warhammer books can be awesome

  • Under 30 and its unplayable to me, but if i hade more money ofc i would had higher standards.

  • now lets get real for a second one thousand fps is a bit much lol

  • @messi996 I have played at 1000 fps. Age of empire 2 ran at 1000 fps solidly at my computer, hell still does.

  • @AndHiAgain i am not saying you cant play at 1000fps ofc you can , but i mean it will not make much a difference

  • @AndHiAgain yea, you're computer would compute 1000 frames, but your screen would only show 60, or maybe 120

  • @messi996 The more the better =3

  • Top Comment? What top comment?

  • I want to give people this choise:

40 FPS - Low texture quality

70 FPS - High texture quality

  • @alexveldin

    I mean

40 FPS - high texture quality

70 FPS - Low texture quality

  • @alexveldin after going from playing SC2 at fps between 15-25, to playing it at 60+. I would have to take 70Fps, i personaly dont care about texture quality, games look good due to there art not due to there texture quality for me.

  • @Cr0aton

everyone's eyes work at 60fps, that's why V-sync is 60fps max, because otherwise your computer is wasting power and it can strain your eyes. Seeing a difference between 100fps and 60fps is physically impossible

  • @Leafblade15 That's complete bullshit. I don't know where you got that info from...

  • @Leafblade15 that's a myth again. there is no limit, that eyes can only see 60 fps.

V-sync is 60 fps max, because the "standard/usual" lcd monitor has a refresh rate of 60 hz (60hz only delivers 60 fps), if you get more than 60 fps the monitor "skips" some frames. To help that/smooth that, V-sync was invented.

LCDs are moving toward 120hz, mostly because of 3D but it is noticable in 2D.

  • @Leafblade15 Vsync locks to the frequency of your monitor. I have a 120hz monitor and v-sync locks to 120 fps. It isn't about seeing the difference, but you feel it. If TF2 drops to 120 frames per second it's pretty much unplayable for me.

  • I played all of Crysis and Crysis Warhead on minimum graphics with an average of around 25 FPS. Often it sunk to 15-17. It did not make it unplayable, nor did it reduce the fun.

  • @Pisideff Did you ever play it on max fps? If not, how can you possibly know it did not reduce the fun?

  • @Gostop1891 Yes, I have. I have since then gotten a better PC. Played through both games on max graphics with an average of 50 FPS. Almost no difference.

I guess this is just me though. Growing up with old hardware has made me not care, perhaps.

  • The thing is most people with crappy pc's got used to the low framerate... on my old pc.. I played some games at lower than 60 fps... I didn't really notice before I got this monster I have now... I tried in mount and blade I run it with about 400 - 800 fps... I like it has no cap at all :D

  • I'm sick of people saying FPS is how you see the game with your eyes, your full of yourself. FPS in video games directly affects performance not image quality. If you ever have played a RTS, a competitive FPS or a RPG like Skyrim, there is a huge difference between 30-60, Also having over 100 FPS affects performance, it removes all lag from the game. Please go play WoW, Counter Strike or Team Fortress 2, try 30 fps, watch how laggy it is.Then try 60 fps, watch the improvement, over 100 = flawless

  • I moan at having 75fps :/ haha I can see/feel for a matter of fact the difference from 75fps to 100fps. Seriously 24fps.... unplayable in most games.

  • @Jamesns You're an idiot.

  • @Blackspur100 Maybe I am but not as much as you are ;)

  • @Jamesns lawl i find 10FPS playable and ill win, barely effects me in games like Lol and MW2(I only play MW2 I didnt bother with the others so dont think about calling me a fanboy)

  • @snowpaw360 LoL isn't that bad but FPS's you do need high FPS... Try playing CS with 60 compared to 100. So much difference.

  • 980X? 2600k FTW

  • With the FPS thing, I'm fine with 40... anything below that and I rage..

  • ok i like your comments mostly, but seriously, the fps ranting on and on, some people just can't afford it, untill half 2011 i had to play even league of legends with a framerate of 11, wasn't really a choice of will i play this or not, i myself am content with 30 fps, provided there's no motion blur or too much intensive lighting in the game, wich sadly is mostly not the case.

  • Ironically, in the fps link provided by TB, their is an argument why movies and tv shouldn't be 60 fps.

  • The problem with something that runs at 30 FPS is that games don't stay consistent at 30. The difference at 30 and 60 is not massive - if there is no variation. However things happen in games that make the frame rate become slower, like explosions and looking over large areas with a lot to render. Now your 30FPS average is dipping to 20 and below at times - it's no longer acceptable at all. That's why 60 makes a huge difference.

Movies don't have this problem, which is why 24FPS exists there.

  • @k2kraze That's not the problem at all. If the computers capable of rendering more FPS than it's capped at it's not going to drop. If you cap a game at 60 but it frequently drops into the 40's it will be jarring and you will notice it. Consistent FPS is better than a high with drops yes but a game won't drop if you can render more than the cap anyway. There is a massive difference between 60 and 30, 30 is jittery as fuck while 60 is relatively smooth(I prefer higher rates than 60)

  • @k2kraze @k2kraze Movies are very jittery. James cameron and peter jackson are shooting all their upcoming films in 48fps. Peter Jackson goes in depth on the topic here facebook.com/notes/peter-jackson/48-frames-per-second/10150222861171558

  • Hell, for counter strike players the difference between fps max of 54.6 and 55 can mean the game.

  • New Skyrim in UK 45 pounds. New Skyrim in New Zealand $130. Exchange rate, roughly, 1 pound = $NZ2... see the difference?

  • A lot of people think that because their computers cannot run Minecraft, it is shit. However Minecraft is very processor and RAM intensive and uses Java which is awful for that type of program. The reason things like Portal 2 can run on more computers is because it uses more of the Video card which is not a problem for Minecraft, and doesn't use an engine that wasn't optimized for high quality programs.

  • Personally, I can't tell the different between 30 and 60 FPS. Anything lower and I notice it immediately, but a PC game running at 30 FPS is acceptable for me.

  • You can only see thirty frames per second, but for the game to appear fluid, EVERY SINGLE FRAME displayed must match with your eye. As current technology can't do this, 60 fps is what seems fluid.

  • This Mailbox made me feel bad about myself. Most games I play (not necessarily new ones) barely run at 15 fps, and I see that smooth as fuck. I do know my PC sucks, but when I play MineCraft, my most recent addiction, server running and all, gets to around 20 to 30 fps. Which is still shit. But for me, I am used to 10 to 20 fps, that's freaking awesome. When I played Portal 2 on this thing, I could play it no problem, at least for me, with 0-10 fps(yes, 0 fps exists).

  • @aandres4 0 frames doesn't exist. there is always 1 frame unless your computer is off

  • @aandres4 Completely agree. As a person who got used to play Half Life 2 at 15 FPS I find this Mailbox rather biased.

  • @aandres4 you're not alone. If i get like 13-15 fps in skyrim on my craputer i'm fine as hell (sadly i don't most of the time), sometimes i even feel like a low framerate actually helps, like in binding of isaac or in mw2 it's like bullet time , you got little bit more time to think before you take action

  • lol, was that a louis ck joke i heard at 8:54

  • about rome total war i just booted up my old pc and played it the other day and i saw that it was going at sucha slow rate that i just had to skip the battles

  • how can i test my fps on pc games

  • @mangum1300 fraps

  • Comment removed

  • try using my pc that can only run league of legends at 5~12 fps

  • 1000fps err what?????????

  • I can tell the difference between frame rates, but it doesn't really bother me as long as it's stable. You're overreacting a bit.

  • That said, I have a limit in fps comprehension as well. My cap is ~58. Above that i dont feel any difference.

And you're damn right i'll enable vsync because i bloody HATE screen tearing even more than sub-par fps. I dont care it caps fps to 60, cause it wont affect me.

i don't understand why ppl dont use vsync, cause i dont feel the diffrence of >60fps

That said, i understand that there are ppl out there that acualy DO feel that differnce.

Hence, it depends on a person by person basis.

  • It depends from person to person. i can easily feel a drop from 60 to 50, hell even to 55, even if it happens for one second. And bloody hell, it infuriates me. TB's damn right its mindbuggling.

Though when discussing this with most of my friends, they think i'm crazy. Its impossible for them to comprehend that i can actually "read" the fps with naked eye.

No surprise though. What they do since forever, is set EVERY game to max graphs and go play it with 15-20-30 fps. They will never understand

  • You can tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps, due to the fact that.. it may be 30 fps.. but the frame, doesn't appear as your eye takes a picture, whereas at 60 fps, the chance of the picture being taken by your eye at the same time as the frame appearing is higher.

If you disagree, clearly you have no idea how, ... the fucking world works

  • Wat the he'll u on about tb, when mw2 came out, sainsburys were selling it for £27 day after release. Same with blops and mw3

  • i can play LoL with 5-10 fps

  • Comment removed

  • When it comes to FPS, it's all about what you're used to.

Someone who runs 90 FPS 24/7 would throw a fit if it suddenly dropped to 50, whereas someone who runs at 15 would find it jumping to 20 and staying that way the greatest thing in the world.

Myself: I would jump for joy if I ran at a constant 50 FPS in WoW.

  • I don't get it, I can clearly see/feel the difference between 30 and 60 FPS too. I don't get the fuzz about it.

  • Agreed, 60 FPS or nothing.

  • I play in 17 fps all the time it does not bother me that much.

  • @plike1 I'm a student... I can't just "buy a new computer". I can't afford it.

  • Does anyone else hate it when poeple comment using words tb uses like "stellar".

    Fucking pisses me off!

  • I cannot tolerate lower than 60fps on a computer, consoles however need not apply, because next to none of the games can do that, but that's the way consoles are. They should be ashamed of themselves for say 24fps is acceptable for ANYONE, it is not.

  • get on my level, i play minecraft where it drops to 0 fps when i place or destroy blocks.

  • @averagestickman If your machine can't run minecraft, then it probably can't run most games in which you are not considered a Pc gamer

  • @FatChocobo90 Like you need a decent computer to be a PC gamer, durr hurr.

  • I thought these things were a matter if opinion, but I guess I'm crazy.

  • MOVIES HAVE MOTION BLUR WHICH MAKES IT LESS JITTERY

  • @XxRapiDaSHxX *facepalm* (at your name and message)

  • everything is so cheap outside Australia...

  • @Erthefrarg Same goes for my country... That is how it is when you live in the top ten most expensive countries in the world...

  • The reason why "they" don't change the 24 fps standard in movies is because of the distinct feel you get. It was probably chosen for completly other reasons, but is now so ingrained into our heads that when ever you watch a movie it feels most like a movie if the frame rate is at 24 fps.

If you would set the framerate to something higher on a movie, it would not have that same movie-feel to it, people would complain for decades until our collective brains would disassociate the old framerate.

  • @Valpskott Where are you getting this information from? What studies, what surveys? Can you share a link?

  • @Surells What I said about 24p in regards to film-making was something I've heard from 2 independent friends which are both amateur filmmakers. I didn't really question it since it sounded plausible to me, especially after watching stuff from the same camera shot at different fps:s. I realize my sources does not hold up as sufficient sources if I was writing a scientific paper. The bit "people would complain for decades..." was my own speculation exaggerated for comedic-ish effects.

  • i'm forced to avoid most games and the ones what i play are 29-32 fps but that is because i have a piss stain for a laptop

  • dude, ive been a pcgamer for 8 years, ive only last summer bought a PC capable of running anything better than counter strike on over 30fps, and i have never seen felt or had a problem, and whats more, now i can play eveerything at twice that, im not noticing a difference :P

  • Movies being filmed at a higher frame rate is already happening. The Hobbit films are being filmed at 48 fps. :)

  • @RJSanderz He is the frames whisperer....

  • @RJSanderz I dunno, I'm with TB, If I play a game with anything lower than 50 fps, it like... breaks my brain. I feel like it's my mind stuttering along and it freaks me the fuck out.

  • dam you new youtube i still dont like you i allways miss stuff

  • I wish there were more action RPGs like Dark Messiah, recommendations?

  • 60 FPS?!?!? I'd be happy if my minecraft could run at 15 FPS...

  • @VegiMazare i got minecraft menu up to 3,4k fps, run at 90+ fps, normaly

  • @VegiMazare as would most ppl NOT using a 5000$ machine lol, my pc cost me about 700, its a quad core from dell, it handles all my gaming needs...

  • The thing i like about steam is that its "Valve" for money.

  • i play league of legends at 20 fps and i wouldnt play it if i didnt love that game so much.. the thing is that low fps makes some games not fun and playing them is just grinding for the story.. so that some games are unplayable at 24 fps mostly because i can play some other game that can run on higher fps. Probably most of us played wow at low fps some time but you played it because you love that game, you can learn to love a new game at 24 fps very hard.

  • I could very easily say mw3 is a £40 6 hour game because the campaign took 4 hours on veteran which was pathetic btw it wasent like the other cod games for veteran far too easy for my liking, then a hour of spec ops and multiplayer before you get bored of how poor they are. So yes mw3 is a 6 hour game.

  • @slayerr4365 for you maybe i played the hell out of it and still am playing with my friends who also did that. This is your taste.

  • @Mragus700 ur an idiot get outa here

  • I played wow in 13fps, stop complaining

  • 24 FPS is certainly not optimal, but it's not unplayable, not in the slightest.

We can't all have a magical sapce PC from the future like you do, TB.

  • @MiloSaysRelax I guess it's about what you are used to play at. I am used to play CoD4 at 125/250 fps and I really hate playing at a lower FPS in that game. Now when I take a game like Skyrim, which I can play at about 60 FPS, I am perfectly happy with that.

  • @MADMAX6464 i agree with you brits complain alot in Bulgaria we pay 130 that is 75 pounds in england but in bulgaria the salery is about 300-400 levs so ...

  • I recently got a 120Hz monitor, smaller differance than the 30 to 60fps step but still amazingly smoother than 60.

  • I actually play Global Agenda, running at 20 FPS and it runs smooth o.o

  • @krakixel Strange, isn't it guys? However, any other game (Example: Crysis) runs most of the time at 30 to 45 FPS...

  • 24 FPS unplayable, haha... I used to raid in WoW with ~5 FPS :D

  • @Lordofcookiejars Just because you "can" play at those FPS levels doesn't mean it should be enforced. It's definitely not optimal, and it doesn't make anybody some kind of badass for living with bad playing coniditons.

  • @Hawkknight88 He never said it did.

  • @Hawkknight88 Where exactly did I say that it should be enforced or was optimal? I just expressed amusement at TB's high standard because I've been in a situation where all I had was much lower. Are the King Arthur guys douchebags for claiming that 24 FPS is fine? Certainly, with my new computer I never accept anything below 60 myself. Would a machine capable of running 24 FPS on modern games be a massive upgrade to many people? Most certainly.

  • @Lordofcookiejars In that case you are an idiot

  • @AlienMagi Why? Because I had an old computer and couldn't afford a new at the time, but still managed to raid HM 25 ICC without causing wipes while consistently pulling top 3 dps? Nerds gonna rage, I suppose.

  • @Lordofcookiejars LOL nope, you're the dumb nerd here who played at 5 fps

  • @AlienMagi ... Yes, I was obviously dumb when I had a bad computer. Now I have good computer, so that means I'm smart. Absolutely stellar logic, kid. Now please leave the internets, and it will be a better place for it :>

  • @Lordofcookiejars you are smart because you have a good computer?

    what a logic

  • @mayrbek123 That wasn't my logic, that was the logic of the person I quoted. He said I was stupid because I had a bad computer, ergo I must obviously be smart because I have a good computer now. It's what happens when kids get uncontrolled internet access.

  • @Lordofcookiejars nope, you're dumb for playing games at 5 fps. And you're still dumb for making retarded comments LMAO

  • @AlienMagi Are you seriously so pants on head demented that you believe that there's any coherent reason in what you just said? First of all, I didn't play "games" at 5 fps. There was one game, and that was WoW. Secondly, I didn't even play WoW at 5 FPS. I specifically played the RAIDS of WoW at 5 FPS, rest of the game ran much better. And when the choice is between having fun and making progress with low FPS or not raiding at all, it's a pretty simple decision.

    Now leave, troll.

  • @Lordofcookiejars

And people wonder why raids kept getting nerfed every expansion. Because people like you and me could not handle the response time necessary of dodge mechanics, NOT because we, in fact, suck. But because, we couldn't see the damn fire in time. When I got a better machine, suddenly the game seemed incredibly easy.

  • @Lordofcookiejars 5 fps is unplayable.

  • @Ub3rSk1llz You'd be surprised what you can make work if you have to.

  • @Lordofcookiejars 5 is a good day try 1 (ultimate slideshow gaming!)

  • @Lordofcookiejars Same...I play wow quite easily between 12-17fps and that drops to like 5 in raids

  • @Lordofcookiejars You, and others making similar remarks, missed the point where that game was capped at under 30.

WoW does not actually have a cap for fps as far as I know, and the only thing stopping you from playing it at 60+ frames is your piece of shit computer, which is a different story altogether.

  • @Lordofcookiejars you think thats bad i put fraps on minecraft and got 1fps FEEL MY PAIN

  • @iamconor6808 i would get 1 w/o fraaps

  • While I agree that games and other forms of media work well with higher FPS rates, I'll disagree with film.

24fps works quite well for film, and is actually defended quite well with your link on a visual comparison of frame rates. 24fps is just enough information for film.

When I see blu-ray videos being played in electronics stores, I get a grossed out feeling. It just doesn't work as a standard for narrative, non-interactive work, but it does work very well with interactive works like games.

  • 40€ for you guys 60ish $ for usa 110$ for aus and you think 40 is too much gezz would love to pay that much >>

(fyi Aus $ beats usa $)

    you could be worse off

  • Man, I wish you'd quoted some research on the fps thing rather than just saying 'I can totally tell'. I'm not saying you're lying, I'm just saying your personal claims mean fuck all to me.

  • @Surells Why are you watching this at all, when his personal claims mean 'fuck all' to you :| .. I mean.. that is pretty much what TB does; stating his opinion. Most of the time you are hearing his subjective view on certain matters, not all the time, but surely most of it.

  • @BartXZX Well, yes, normally I'm happy to hear TB's opinions on subjective matters: do you think this game is good? etc... but in this case he just kept stating something about an objective biological fact and instead of basing it on scientific research, he just kept saying, 'I've felt it, if you disagree, you're stupid.' It means nothing to me, I know nothing about fps and I'm not going to let my opinion on it be influenced by what TB 'recons'.

Nice Dragon Ball icon btw ;)

  • @Surells Hmm, you might just be right here :p xD

Nice Sasuke pic :D New naruto tomorrow! :DD It's going to be epic! :D

  • Most games will run with a fixed physics timestep. Usually 30-60Hz. Rendering the game at 120 fps in this scenario will do nothing but put unnecessary strain on your GPU. Nothing will have changed since the last update, the GPU is just drawing the same scene for 2 consecutive frames - you're still getting 30fps, just the GPU is doing 4x the work. That's one reason for games having capped framerates.

But even with physics calculations being expensive, a game should be able to do >24 per second.

  • well... my preferred FPS is at 35 but... only if my laptop could dish out 35 =(

  • Geez TB, have you not heard of books? Still the best value entertainment. Read Orwell's Books vs Cigarettes for more on this by a greater mind than mine.

  • @Surells he talked about novels, but this is a gaming channel and how the quality of your time is important too. not only time / cost = value

  • @Symbioticism Nope, I'm pretty sure you said that FPS is irrelevant to the smoothness of a game. Yes, there are other factors that can affect how smooth a game plays but changing from 30 FPS to 120 FPS will always be an improvement, provided that the game isn't a broken console port that doesn't know what to do without a constant low FPS.

  • @NabsterHax Well you may be right if literally every other variable is exactly the same when FPS is changed but that is rarely the case... the lighting in an environment has a far greater effect on what you see. And stuff that people call fps lag is often not fps, but reactively to control inputs (which is incredibly annoying). What I am saying is that it isn't as straight forward as TB makes out... there are a great deal of hard to know quantities when dealing with the science of sight.
