  • I love the arrangement as well as the singing.

Where can I get the score?

  • Amazing :) :) :) BREATH TAKING 5 STAR AWESOME JOB

  • There are so many stupid gimmicks in this performance, I almost puked. Why not just sing the usual, traditional way, without the "dancing", maraccas and the kites? I don't get it, it's way too commercialized and calls too much attention to the singers themselves, not the music. This arrangement is pure garbage!!!

  • I heard from CNN that UTAH is the gayest state in the US. WTF????

  • A really tight choir, but I feel this song has lost the soul from the original. I think this type of music needs a bit of an edge... didn't really work for me. But very good work!

  • what happened to the swahili???

  • There is no denying that you are AMAZING singers and performers. But... this song is too stiff - it has so much soul, movement. And in such a way (at least for me) it sounds just too... polite, immobile? In no way I want to insult you though, as I said, this is a TERRIFIC choir!

  • I love every one of your performances....keep the good work !

  • Absolutely amazing voices! The rain sticks add such a beautiful effect and I love the kites at the sides of the stage! I would have loved to see this in real life! Beautiful job!

  • if you were to be given a score, and the highest is 10, we'll you'll probably get.... 20! great great great!

  • I love the two soloists :)

  • great singers and soloists and a great choreography

  • great work

  • amzing group love your work

  • only 81,000 views? i've watched this more than that. :)

  • I wanna go 2 Utah now....

  • ohhh....nice!

  • i scarcely recognized this piece! wow!

  • amazing you are a grand school.

  • OMG I cried at this...so beautifu...

  • This really gave me goosebumps ^^ so good :D

  • who is the publisher of this arrangement? thank you for your help/.

  • The blonde guy at 2:40 is cute lmao.

  • I LOVE this version... especially the 2 male soloists..!! they are AMAZING.!!!

  • GREAT SINGERS!!

But the false audience at the bottom of the screen distracts.

  • @pcbrown44 Thank you for viewing and commenting! We're glad you enjoyed our video. The people in the front row aren't "false" or plants. We had a local high school Madrigal choir join us on this particular concert for a few pieces and they sat in the front rows so as to have easy access to the stage and still be able to watch the rest of the concert. You have a keen eye though! We are able to mostly fill the house anyway, but the front row is usually the last to fill.

  • @UofUtahSingers

Hello - I graduated from the U of U in choir a bit ago. Do you have any idea where I could find this music? It is amazing!!!!!!!!

  • @UofUtahSingers - Thanks for the reply. You guys are fantastic!

As for the "stoic" audience, I finally saw one of them move at 3:32.

Sorry for the false accusation. :-)

    You guys are GREAT!

    Keep up the tremendous singing!

  • @UofUtahSingers wait what madrigal singers are there?wow really:)

  • Great performance, but I prefer a more powerful delivery - that's maybe because the first choral version of Circle of Life that I ever saw was from the Philippine Madrigal Singers and that choir is something of a sonic beast.

  • AMAZING :D

  • Comment removed

  • I never thought it repeated "til we find a place in the circle" I thought it was "simma-ny-sen-king-se-nemma-ya" ....

But great job! I mean, really, fantastic performance! :D

  • Well done!!! This rendition is AWESOME!!!!!

  • iF you Got chills form this ,,, Then Watch the Philippine Madrigal singERs perform CIRCLE OF LIFE ^^ ... GOose BumPs ^^ ....

  • This song is so well instructed i love the beginning with the "do"s and how it sounds that part and the rest of the song gave me chills. Good Job :)

  • very great

  • Seeing Mr. Fidel Calalang's name on this video is enough for me to get chills down my spine. So proud of our conductor!

    VIVA SANTO TOMAS! :)

  • NANTS INGONYAMA BAGITHI BABA... wow.. what a travesty the ending was fair.. but what was the trainwreck that starts at 3.22???

  • This is the best choir i've heard that performs this song that well. I have to give mad props to University of Utah Singers for their outstanding performance!!

  • glee without glee

  • I'm sorry, but this...kinda ruined the song a little bit. It got better towards the middle, but the beginning sucked..

  • @ShadowWarriorkk Hater

  • @ShadowWarriorkk yeah agree but it was still great :)

  • Great arrangement from Prof Calalang! Great Interpretation and adlib done by University of Utah SIngers! COOOL!!!

  • Utah does it better. ;)

  • WHY IS EVERYTHING IN UTAH!!!11??

  • I want our choir to do this version!!!!

  • I want to cry with almost every song I hear by this choir, directed by Dr. Allred. It is magical.

  • I can do nothing but smile during this, and by the end I am almost laughing. My choir could never do this because they sing without any emotion (even though we travel around the US and win everything). This, on the contrary, is flawless!

  • Holy hotties at 1:38!!!

  • MADZ - Circle of Life @ Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, NYC.

paste that on your search bar and see for yourself...

base on my opinion, its the greatest version evah!!!

  • Theres a Burger King hat on the piano lol

  • ang sarap pakingan ng mga babae huhu

  • @cheericeify FYI I actually love Disney, and this choir. I was making fun of the 8 dislikes on the page. Not making fun of it. Read before you start to insult other peoples comments.

  • im sure this was beautiful but i wouldnt know bc youtube fucked up and wouldnt play the video

  • It's quite good, but it feels overrehearsed. It lacks passion and real joy. It doesn't have any spirit, though it is technically near perfection. Music needs soul and this just doesn't have it.

  • i hope we can sing this too... but we dnt have this piece... pls give us a copy....

    isaiah1989_17@yahoo.com

  • Geeeente do céu, eu nunca vi uma coisa dessa, estou maravilhado...

  • Perfect job. I love it. Thanks for sharing

  • I normally don't like this sort of thing, but oh my gosh. This is amazing. Thanks for changing my opinion. This is wonderful. I listened to absolutely every second. :)

  • 8 people hate the Lion King and University of Utah Singers.

  • @VintageHussy13 FYI if you dont like Disney and its

Movies then I suggest that you go surfing somewhere

Else and leave disney alone. FYI everyone loves Disney's

The Lion King and if you dont like it then dont comment

This video and dont be hating my fave movie got it

  • Bravo!!!

  • try this version from the Philippines Madrigal singers... its a very different but interesting rendition of the same song...

    watch?v=Z5ZFIRLeYNI&feature=related

  • love this song :)

  • I really like this arrangement. Two thumbs up!

  • Its taken so long, but I've finally found it. I have been looking for this very video. I can't believe it. At long last, the cure for my insomnia.

  • you guys need to sing the menu music from Civ IV

  • 6 people are deaf.

  • @MissJennySmiles make that 7 people.

  • I feel like I' watching Glee.

  • woooow awesome!!!!

  • Is there any hard copies of this??

  • Is there any hard copies of this??

  • LOVED THIS!!!! WWWWOOOWWWW!!!!!

  • I think you forgot something

    NANTS INGONYAMA BAGITHI BABA

  • @verleihfull nisho njalo

  • i wish you had a real "african" band that could have been responsible for the music part. singing was fabulous

  • awesome, love choral music, love singing in First Coast Chorus love to perform this arrangement....

  • awesome, love choral music, love singing in First Coast Chorus love to perform this arrangement....

  • i like how most people judge arrangements of songs on how many runs or splits there are in it, or how high the 1st soprano goes or how low the bass goes. songs are supposed to convey the message of the original message without saying a word. i think this arrangement does just that

  • this is good. cute and simple arrangement. but there are better renditions.

  • WORST, ARANGEMENT, EVER!

  • @QueenWebster how exactly is this the worst arrangement ever? This is a very good arrangement especially compared to some of the arrangements of disney songs out there. The vertical alignment of the chords were very well thought out, as well as the different way to arrangement of each verse allows a good change of pace from verse to verse.

  • I wish I could have the score to this. It's beautiful! :)

  • How can anyone dislike anything this group does!

  • I think Madz's version is more complex and needs a lot of vocal strength... This version is good as well but it's more of like the song was just given a chorale arrangement. It failed to capture the feel of a jungle song.

  • Try listening to the Madrigal Singers' version from the Philippines. Different arrangement but equally awesome!

  • wooowwww o0 what wonderful voices :)

  • Try searching here in youtube for "Circle of Life rehearsal" by poster MireyaLuis, and be prepared to be blown away ^___^

  • here is the UST singers version. the song is recorded using a cellphone recorder so the recording is not as fine as the UofU's version. they are also sining inside a church where bounces off the walls. the UST singers mixes western and african styles of singing.

  • i urge everyone to listen to the rendition by the UST (university of santo tomas) singers of the philippines and I guess you will understand what MonzaMan08 is saying about the U of U's rendition of the song. :-) by the way, the arranger of this piece is the conductor of the UST singers.

  • where can I find the sheet music for this?

  • ZOMG!! THEY'RE AWSOME!!!!! I wish MY school choir could sing this well!

  • This song was absolutely wonderful!! I loved at and I'm going to tell my chorus teacher about it and ask her if we can do it!! Although u guys couldve gotten a little more loose with the pitches and rhythm, it was overall very good, kudos!!! :)

  • When we heard this it made everyones jaw drop!

Come back to Las Vegas and sing with the Las Vegas High School Choirs again!!!!

  • When I first the song title I was going to blow by this one. So glad I watched it. It was fabulous. Love the soloists too. Wish the thinner guy would have put the mic up to his mouth more though.

  • This is fantastic- but I have searched and searched....Where can I get the music so I can do it with my choir? Please help!

  • My favorite part is from 4:38 to 4:53

but overall, the WHOLE thing is amazing!

  • I'd sit here all night, but it'll only let me click "Like" once... This was truely amazing, and ROCKED HARDCORE!!! And anyone who didn't cry when Simba's dad died, has no soul.

  • omg so cool! cant wait to hear hallelujah!

  • One single person has obviously never seen The Lion King.

  • This version is just so....so.......WHITE.

  • @belovedagave So Mr. or Mrs. authority on what is white and what is... well... not white. Explain why this is "white?" I doubt you can articulate what it is exactly that they are doing so "white."

  • @MonzaMan08 i'll answer in place of belovedgave. the rhythms are too carefully articulated. they don't groove, either -- they just tear through. the choir doesn't have the same richness in overtones. the soprano section, in particular, has a very white timbre. they also don't play with the pitch very much; just right on each note without any sliding. and the diction is as carefully articulated as the rhythm. they're at least clapping on the offbeat -- i'll give them that.

  • @bmh4d0k3n I don't think you got it. It is absolutely ridiculous to define a choir's or a singer's sound by the color of their skin or by the skin color they sound like not to mention that is a gross generalization about race. In a country that is constantly bombarded with this kind of segregated thought I think it is ridiculous and divisive to make these judgements. The variety of sounds and interpretations is what should really be praised. It is what it is! Great .

  • @MonzaMan08 well, there are cultural factors at play. there IS an african-american choral tradition that has certain stylistic elements, just as the european classical tradition does. it's a good performance, but it's a demonstrably european-derived sound and manner. not they should "act black" or something, but there IS a white sound. oh well, i'm fighting a losing battle on a page full of fans of the video. i guess i'll let you enjoy this blandness in peace.

  • @bmh4d0k3n i agree with your comments. you should listen to the original rendition by the university of santo tomas singers from the philippines. their rendition is different.

  • @bmh4d0k3n @MonzaMan08 maybe it's wrong to classify the sound as white. maybe that is why the people here are offended by your comment. let us just say they are using bel canto singing which is not that apt for an african inspired song. :-)

  • @belovedagave omg what kind of stupid comment is this

  • @belovedagave Good thing. They are all...white. ;)

  • @entengpol Hahahaha I just saw this video. OMG REALLY. Galing talaga ng Pinoy. WOO! SHAKS! Elibs nanaman ako.

  • and to think I'm already in the same school as the UST singers and I haven't heard this arrangement yet. haha.

  • i got chills by how good this is...i wish my school did this...

oh and that one person that disliked this must not have very good hearing or taste in music...<3<3

  • WOW!! THEESE GUYS ARE AWSOME!!

  • great sopranos!

  • oh my god this is great

  • Incredible. That's all I can say.

  • Lovelovelovelove!! FANTASTIC!

  • I love it how they had the singers double as the instrumentalists- what a great idea!

  • god i love you guys...i get goose bumps

  • this is just awesome. very clean, very harmonious, the effects are just great! Bravo!

  • super clear video! nice!! :) We performed this song in the Philippines too. very memorable choir competition in the University of Santo Tomas. and the official choir of that university recently won the "Choir of the World" title a few months ago. :)

  • wow awesome! way to go Karsten!

  • proud to sing this song as well. . originally composed by Prof. Fidel Calalang of UST Singer.

we, the BSU CHORALE of Malaybalay, bukidnon, Philippines

  • @jhash24 originally ARRANGED by Prof. Fidel Calalang, Jr. of the UST singers. Elton John won't be very happy if you don't credit him as the composer. hahaha.

  • @d73024 tama!. . hahah i stand corrected. . . towi po mr eltonjohn. . haha

  • epici! fantastici! unici! Bravissimi!!

  • this deserves a standing ovation and bloody audiences are just sitting down. lazy fuckers.

  • This version of Circle of Life is Cute. :) Very cute. :) And the performance. But I think I like more the arrangement of Ms. Anna OF Phil. Madrigal Singers because of complexity. :)

  • best version on YouTube!

  • where can i find the the published version of this...i would like to perform it with a choir.

  • Wow! ^^

  • Wow!!! Well done!!!

  • What an amazing choir and a wonderful arrangement. Is this a published arrangement and if so, could you provide any details. I would love to perform this with my choir.

  • The song/arrangement, choir & concert hall are so memorable to me. We (UST pPharmacy Glee Club) premiered this wonderful arrangement of Prof Fidel Calalang Jr. of the UST Singers from Manila. We won the competition & this was the contest piece. This choir is a very good friend of the UST Singers and Brady Allred is my idol. The Libby Gardner Concert Hall of the University of Utah is where we performed together with this amazing choir back in 2005 just right before they compete in Tours, France.

  • Excellent! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing. Great to see Karsten singing up a storm in there too.

  • Sing Anna-Abeleda's Arrangement Please.

  • FANTASTICI!!!

  • That was awesome! Great job!
