If you ran a company, there is a diminishing level of price you can set for your product or service because at some point, people wouldn't find your product or service valuable at the price you set. You couldn't charge $300 for a gallon of milk, for instance. You also have competition that helps "regulate" the price you set.

At some point, if the company is to function and get off the ground, it has to hire people and pay them a fair wage as dictated by law, make sure that OSHA approves the safety of their workplace and provide health insurance, a 401k.etc. to those employees. No business exists without the necessary contributions of even the workers on the "lowest" level of employment at that particular company.

A certain amount of people are needed to work at a company or else there is no company, CEO's can't run a corporation themselves(and if they could, I'm sure the results would not be good) So ANY company MUST hire a set number of people. Sure they have the right to screen applicants, but they cannot carry on such a process indefinitely.
In fact in many cases, if not most, health care can ONLY be accessed through an employer. To get an apartment you need a job, etc. To gain any money for retirement people need to work. Since it is so vital for financial stability and is the everyday reality for the majority of americans, suggesting that work isn't mandatory denies reality. (even if it's technically true. The government can't order you to work, but the thing is that they don't have to)
To pay rent, and put food on the table, employment is the established and agreed upon unwritten contract in society. Few people are born into extravagant luxury. But guess what, even those people live in society and have moral and civic obligations they cannot selfishly run from. If you're part of the community, then you have to contribute. Period.
If i am to judge your several posts on this page as parallel to your overall concept/beliefs, it would appeat that indeed illogic is much more than facade of you.

If 40% of the american people can't understand basic science, then how is the united states going to remain on the cutting edge of science, medicine and technology ? Therefore the government should indeed care and does have a stake in whether hard working americans can send their children to college. If other nations can do it for free or for hardly any cost, there isn't an excuse for the united states not to provide both affordable health care and quality educational opportunities to its citizens, free of charge.
To be a worthwhile investment that pays in dividens, it need not be financially based. All gain is not financial gain. It pays off for any industrialized nation to have both healthy and educated citizens. Having good healthcare means less time off from work, which slashes productivity and profit of a business. Also better educated citizens means more skilled workers who don't need remedial training which can take up money and time as resources.
It is in the government's own interest that people are educated and certaintly receiving a college education should be encouraged by all institutions worldwide(governmental or non-governmenatl alike) If our kids fail miserably at math and science or drop out of high school, we don't put represenatives from our country into the job market of the future. Thus countries that don't fail their children in terms of education like India for example, fill those jobs, outsourced overseas.

If you ran a company, there is a diminishing level of price you can set for your product or service because at some point, people wouldn't find your product or service valuable at the price you set. You couldn't charge $300 for a gallon of milk, for instance. You also have competition that helps "regulate" the price you set.

At some point, if the company is to function and get off the ground, it has to hire people and pay them a fair wage as dictated by law, make sure that OSHA approves the safety of their workplace and provide health insurance, a 401k.etc. to those employees. No business exists without the necessary contributions of even the workers on the "lowest" level of employment at that particular company.

A certain amount of people are needed to work at a company or else there is no company, CEO's can't run a corporation themselves(and if they could, I'm sure the results would not be good) So ANY company MUST hire a set number of people. In fact in many cases, if not most, health care can ONLY be accessed through an employer. To get an apartment you need a job, etc. To gain any money for retirement people need to work. Since it is so vital for financial stability and is the everyday reality for the majority of americans, suggesting that work isn't mandatory denies reality. (even if it's technically true. The government can't order you to work, but the thing is that they don't have to)

To pay rent, and put food on the table, employment is the established and agreed upon unwritten contract in society. Few people are born into extravagant luxury. But guess what, even those people live in society and have moral and civic obligations they cannot selfishly run from. If you're part of the community, then you have to contribute. Period.

*Your presumptions as to what a government should take upon is in direct defiance of it's constitutional restrictions.If you disagree with the constitution, have it changed. Until that juncture, any such germane activities would by default have illegal status.

Not an option for most, if not all, americans. Especially now with unemployment so high and so few job opportunities for many due to the recession. Not everybody has the qualifications or the means to just get their dream career and be set for life. .

If 40% of the american people can't understand basic science, then how is the united states going to remain on the cutting edge of science, medicine and technology ? you are correct in one instance, your rant of creationism was indeed irrelevant. However, the concept itself,creationism, does not promote the concept of a god,goddess,or governing deity of any form. rather, it is the conclusion that, given the absolutions of chemical science, there was indeed some form of illustration in pertinence to the universe's "creation". to deny this is illogical. additionally, assuming we entertain the same notion, the number is actually 60%.

Therefore the government should indeed care and does have a stake in whether hard working americans can send their children to college. If other nations can do it for free or for hardly any cost, there isn't an excuse for the united states not to provide both affordable health care and quality educational opportunities to its citizens, free of charge.

To be a worthwhile investment that pays in dividens, it need not be financially based. All gain is not financial gain. It pays off for any industrialized nation to have both healthy and educated citizens. Having good healthcare means less time off from work, which slashes productivity and profit of a business. Also better educated citizens means more skilled workers who don't need remedial training which can take up money and time as resources.

It is in the government's own interest that people are educated and certaintly receiving a college education should be encouraged by all institutions worldwide(governmental or non-governmenatl alike) If our kids fail miserably at math and science or drop out of high school, we don't put represenatives from our country into the job market of the future. Thus countries that don't fail their children in terms of education like India for example, fill those jobs, outsourced overseas.

The government has obligations and responsibilities to ensure that its citizens are safe and that the freedoms guaranteed to them by the constitution. It must utilize the FDA, the EPA, the military to do so..etc. all of which would be powerless under a limited framework of government.

@jayjay4000 you do realize that prolife supporters are against abortion on a moral level, right? We don't believe in abortion because morally we are against killing an unborn child. Abortion shouldn't be used as a form of birth control. Conservatives believe in individual accountability, meaning a poor person (or any person) should take every measure to avoid becoming pregnant if they cannot handle being a parent. Most contraceptives are what, 99% effective. Abstinence tends to work also.
