I hope you can still hostile people in game. I hated that about WoW, someone of your faction steals a node or something and you just have to sit there and type crap, knowing you can't do anything about it. That's what I loved about Diablo, someone pisses you off. Town - Hostile - Search and Destroy.

We should take into account that the game isn't finished. Especially the amount of abilities shown will raise with the release, because they are still adding more of them. I guess we won't see fireball style abilities very often in these matches, simply because it's so easy to avoid them when casting these at range. Time will tell.

The game isn't finished, this video is a year old, you don't know the skill level of players, you don't know what has changed since then and what will continue to change, etc. I highly, highly, highly, highly doubt that just spamming the same skill "over and over" will work. If WoW is any indication, Blizzard is going to compartmentalize PvP in this game in its arena system as well. It might have world PvP, but it would most likely be an unsupported, unbalanced mess they won't even try to address since arena is an option. In a way, you should probably hope it doesn't have FFA if they're going to have arenas in the game~ because it is guaranteed they will choose arena over world pvp when it comes to balance and grievance issues. It sucks.
I know what the game meant to me and a legion of fans. I also know that these are not the original developers to what this franchise was. Yes, it is quite possible that you and I know quite a bit more about what Diablo means to us because we are capable of our own opinion and interpretation of the experiences that made this franchise great. Your trolling will have to be much harder to dissuade me from my concern that the current developers of Blizzard are quite different than D1/2.
At the moment, none of us are 100% sure how the game will pan, and thus my mind is open. I prefer an open mind however, as well as an open opinion before a closed one that is willing to accept whatever is thrown at me without thought as to why one should, or could not enjoy a product. We have a game that has never, ever had compartmentalized PvP yet now does. This obviously goes in line with Blizzard's recent hit, World of Warcraft. A game where World PvP is dead, and arena lives.
Early on, seems Wizards and other ranged classes have a natural environmental advantage. They can shoot over those barriers that melee classes and pets have to walk around. Not saying the classes are broken, but they will have a clear notch in those environments.
Even when the Barbarian was right up against the Wizard, she was able to fend of a lot of damage, just to set up a new kite. I usually play melee classes, but I'm tired of being the underdog in games like this. I'm going Wizard or DH.
I know, I'm just tired of history repeating itself with me. I mean, I played a Paladin in Vanilla wow, then I played an Enhance Shaman in BC and beyond. I think I need to just play the mage, which at this point is quite obviously always going to be well taken care of by a developer due to the finicky nature of mages as a design. They obviously have to make them survive enough to be playable, but have the offense at range. On paper and ingame, they have to have substance.
@ericsayres what ? OP teleport was in D2 becouse only the Sorceress have it. If you want it on different character you was obligated to make run world enigma in armor. In Diablo 3 all character will be have some kind of fust movement skill. Good to hear that from the very beginning the Blizzard puts the emphasis on characters balance and pvp. Let's hope it's not just empty words form Blizzard.
It wont be empty words, and thats also the reason why they need so much time with D3. Especially the new rune system gives problems with a balancment between the characters, cause they influent the character skills.
@ironmb86 But you must understand, they need to make a profit. And the diablo 2 engine was far outdated. And it being diablo...well I assume it won't be geared towards the casual players. I mean Jay Wilson is a huge fan, and a good guy by the looks of it. I'm sure they will keep a lot of the diablo feel, but if they were to release that in a trailer they'd get a 20+ rating and not as many people could buy it.

WoW is a game for grinding, tons of people play it hardcore, others casual - just because WoW has something in common with D3 doesn't mean D3 is bad or casual-only.
IMO all blizzard games (excluding WC1, BT, RnRR, LV) have been for casual all the way up to hardcore play... that's how it seems Blizzard likes to design their games.
The most hardcore games are games with good PvP. D2 had terrible PvP.

Well... Hanging out just past the bridge in Act I and spamming the "hostile" button like crazy then unapologetically annihilating some noobs with your WW barb (or whateva') would be a much missed experience. It seems there are a lot of idiots on here doubting the awesomeness of Blizzard and everything they develop. Diablo 3 will release with exceptional reviews and will do exceedingly well with the following it has garnered years before release. If it's not your type of game, GTFO, otherwise you should enjoy it thoroughly.
Dude, this looks exactly like Bloodline Champions......Looks cool, but I do very much enjoy BLC, I'd rather donate to that than pay $40+ for a game exactly like it without knowing if it's going to be fun.....I know that the main aspect of Diablo is PvE, but PvP is always my focus when it comes to games, so I don't see a point in playing this instead of sticking with BLC.
This don't remind at all about BLC.... and 1 more thing. I'm pretty sure, that Diablo 3 started the creation of the game alot before, if not, they would never be know what they were doing with BLC, because the game was never announced, not even as a beta

I am also fine with spells and magic so long as it is skill baised (meaning you aim it). the only thing i dont like is when you are catching puffballs for the elf princess and whatnot. but if it has zombehs, ghosts, skeletons, and maybe a fatass oger or two ( i love the ogers because they are just fat people that are stupid... like rednecks) and i like DMC so demon killing is fine by me! it is not nerdy if it has some style points!
i really friggen hate games like diablo where it is fantasy and whatnot, but this skill based game makes up for that part and makes it something that i want to get. i just hope that they come up with maybe a few more game modes, kinda like those push/ pull games, ex:demigod/league of legends

Playing WoW is completely pointless unless you are on a PvP server, and even then, it's pretty pointless, because there's no decent RvR.
So you go around finding loot, to do dungeons, so you can get more loot, to do more dungeons
WoW on a Normal Server = Typing /dance infront of any opposition faction you see.
On PvP servers at least you get the occasional city raid and skirmish...
Something that never happens on a Normal server.

@ericsayres what ? OP teleport was in D2 becouse only the Sorceress have it. If you want it on different character you was obligated to make run world enigma in armor. In Diablo 3 all character will be have some kind of fust movement skill. Good to hear that from the very beginning the Blizzard puts the emphasis on characters balance and pvp. Let's hope it's not just empty words form Blizzard.

It wont be empty words, and thats also the reason why they need so much time with D3. Especially the new rune system gives problems with a balancment between the characters, cause they influent the character skills.

@ironmb86 But you must understand, they need to make a profit. And the diablo 2 engine was far outdated. And it being diablo...well I assume it won't be geared towards the casual players. I mean Jay Wilson is a huge fan, and a good guy by the looks of it. I'm sure they will keep a lot of the diablo feel, but if they were to release that in a trailer they'd get a 20+ rating and not as many people could buy it.

@ironmb86 Arena's aren't for casual gamers, you've got to be freaking daft to think that.
WoW is a game for grinding, tons of people play it hardcore, others casual - just because WoW has something in common with D3 doesn't mean D3 is bad or casual-only.
IMO all blizzard games (excluding WC1, BT, RnRR, LV) have been for casual all the way up to hardcore play... that's how it seems Blizzard likes to design their games.
The most hardcore games are games with good PvP. D2 had terrible PvP.

Well... Hanging out just past the bridge in Act I and spamming the "hostile" button like crazy then unapologetically annihilating some noobs with your WW barb (or whateva') would be a much missed experience. I quite honestly don't like the concept of battle arenas :/ But hey blizz would figure it out...

It seems there are a lot of idiots on here doubting the awesomeness of Blizzard and everything they develop. Diablo 3 will release with exceptional reviews and will do exceedingly well with the following it has garnered years before release. If it's not your type of game, GTFO, otherwise you should enjoy it thoroughly.

Dude, this looks exactly like Bloodline Champions......Looks cool, but I do very much enjoy BLC, I'd rather donate to that than pay $40+ for a game exactly like it without knowing if it's going to be fun.....I know that the main aspect of Diablo is PvE, but PvP is always my focus when it comes to games, so I don't see a point in playing this instead of sticking with BLC.

This don't remind at all about BLC.... and 1 more thing. I'm pretty sure, that Diablo 3 started the creation of the game alot before, if not, they would never be know what they were doing with BLC, because the game was never announced, not even as a beta

@TheSpamBomb i am fine with demons and stuff like that. I am also fine with spells and magic so long as it is skill baised (meaning you aim it). the only thing i dont like is when you are catching puffballs for the elf princess and whatnot. but if it has zombehs, ghosts, skeletons, and maybe a fatass oger or two ( i love the ogers because they are just fat people that are stupid... like rednecks) and i like DMC so demon killing is fine by me! it is not nerdy if it has some style points!

i really friggen hate games like diablo where it is fantasy and whatnot, but this skill based game makes up for that part and makes it something that i want to get. i just hope that they come up with maybe a few more game modes, kinda like those push/ pull games, ex:demigod/league of legends
and i hope they dont overdoo the nerd/fantasy part to the point that i get friggen sick of it. i dont want to be "forging the hammer of atherok in the mountains of the goblins" i just wana kill stuff
