They both have their advantages, I know that local riders at Mammoth love to ride Northstar and Vice Versa just to mix it up because they are so different from one another. Apples to Ostriches...

There are jumps on trails like Pipeline, Paper Route X-Zone, the Kamikaze Park, and Bullet.

i go to mammoth every summer, and i was wanting to try some blacks now. Do u need a hardcore downhill bike or will a decent full suspension do?

Any bike will do, just take it at your own pace and you'll be fine.

We actually filmed most of the trail before the resort opened, but there was still people riding by now and then. We would just wait until there was no one in the frame and then shoot.

what camera are you using? this is some of the clearest footage on youtube. How do you keep the camera from getting shaky while panning the area? maybe you could share some movie tips of videoing downhill with me? Im going to northstar at tahoe for some downhilling this sunday and want to get footage, but i need some good pointers on how to make it turn out good

I shoot with an HD Panasonic AG-HMC 150. I almost never pan on my DH shots, but when I do, I use a remote pan/tilt head to get those robotic pans. I use a track Dolly for the motion shots, and I have a jib arm for those raising shots... I also built a remote controlled camera zip line that is controlled by an RC helicopter controller and viewed wirelessly.

Just rode this trail today...and yeasterday. Yes sparrow 338 they still have that narrow section...It can be sketchy..I am so proud of myself though I did the doubles at the end and also did the log ride (without putting a single foot down) on my 500 diamonback coil ex.

Hay, did they cut down that little tree section near the end that used to be really narrow? I remember I'd always feel like I'm gonna clip my handle bars on that, didn't look like it was in the video.
