piano at the start is beautiful, and my favourite part of the song is when his voice breaks into falsetto at the end of singing "forever and a day" around 0:30
I have heard other versions of this song. But I am sorry, no one... NO ONE... can do this song like Tom Jones can. His version is EPIC! He gives me goose bumps.
I wanna cry when I hear this song. When my dog, Bear, had to be put down I pet him until he was lifeless. I cried as I made my way to my car and I listened to this song in the car. :'( this song is soo good. I miss him so much.
@trickster909 I had a little black pomerianian named bear. One night we let him out to use the bathroom. I was at a birthday party, when I heard that there was a little dog dead in the road. I came home and found out it was bear, while we were also celebrating my brothers birthday. I stayed up in my room all night and cried, and when I went to school the next day, everyone was talking about my dog being smeared in the road. It was HORRIBLE. Continued for like a week! :(
@dragonholder411 My dog was black as well, I was actually thining about him today. I did learn something from his death though: Cherish what you have because before you know it, it will be gone. How old were you?
@trickster909 I think I was 11. The night before he died he had chewed up some of my art cly, and I've saved it ever since so that I can still remember him well. Haha, one time he ate half of a giant wax candle, and later that day he pooped in the house and it was pure wax! He ate everything... cellphones, chewed through a new TV cord, ate our poisionous plant (just threw up A LOT), ate our shoes, ate a few of my projects and homework for school, he had an iron stomach. XD I still miss him. :(
I can't agree, I think PJ is a fantastic singer and I'm totally crazy about his version of "What's Wrong With My World" but this one hell no, Tom Jones much better, coming from a person who adores Elvis just like PJ does
geez...I remember when I used to be little, and my mom and dad would put records like this on all the time, and we'd all sit there for hours listening to track after track of old songs, but they were all great...
We should have got a notice about being so loud ^^ we'd always crank the volume up really high lol...Good times...
I love the emotion Tom Jones puts into his songs, and he has an individual style. I still love "What's New Pussycat" which was used as the soundtrack for the movie "Cat Balou" when I was a youngster. Also, I like his other song, "It's Not Unusual", another oldie from my time. He has many great songs and I had his albums and played them to death!
@KingCreoleEP Wholeheartedly I agree with you. Seriously, are there ANY singer today who can really pull at your heartstrings while singing a song...? Oh, Elvis; you left us way too soon. Luckily we still have Mr. Jones.
I fell in love with this song, having never heard it before until the movie soundtrack. Thanks for the great job putting it all together. Looks and sounds great!!!
Thank you, thank you! Audio resolution is perfect, I have not been able to find this release except from the Sizzor Hands audio track with that God awfull clunk at the end. Very nice my friend. Do you know what label this recording was released on and was it a Les Reed Production?
Hey and along the same genre, Has anybody got the long version of Jimmy James and the Vagabonds "Come to me Softly". One of the most lushly atrranged love songs from late 60s/early 70s.
You're welcome! Yes, it is a Les Reed production. The cut is from "The Definitive Tom Jones" 4-CD box set, disc 1. I highly recommend it if you enjoy his music.
This is a great song and a great job by Tom, but check out the version by 9448. The guy is incredible.
