Dies ist geil! I will be in Berlin in about 2 weeks until 2012. i've been to Berlin before but never on my own since i had my German friends take me places. I will starting Goethe late Oct...schedule something like 830am - 1230pm, M-F. Das ist hammer, ya?
These vids very helpful actually to prep me on the simple day to day...
Hey Chris, may I ask what you do for a living? I've had several relatives visit my in the US the last 2 years, and it made me somewhat "homesick" .. I wonder what job opportunities would exists for an ex-german with almost "native speaking" american english skills ...
I don't like the main station because it has long ways, only one toilet but at least four floors and it has no square newspaper kiosk. The architecture is repellent and cool. Berlin Ostbahnhof has more charm and profit for the passangers because of its shorter ways.
I'm gonna travel to Berlin by train in a few days from now and I already feel lost. :-D Thanks for the vid, mate. Now I'm at least somewhat prepared. :-)
Crazy, I toured Europe for 2 months and htis was like my home away from home. I changed traings here at least 6 times. Berlin was my fave city. Excellent video
Hey Chris .. awesome video. I was born in Germany (Dinkelsbuehl, Bavaria) but have lived in the US since 1975 (St. Louis, MO -- Houston, TX and San Antonio, TX). My father was born in Berlin (in what was East Berlin), only visited once that I can remember, and we arrived at the Zoo Bahnhof. My wife and I are planning a trip to Germany next year (I am actually hoping to stay for a few years) and will most likely visit Berlin. I can't wait to get on a German Train again. Tschuess! Bis bald!
Wow, that brings back memories from when I was there a few years ago. Your video would have been better with a better camera. Looks like it was using a CMOS sensor.
Grey in grey....I don´t like Berlin at all : /

I know its a train station but how many shops are in it. It looks like West Edmonton Mall or Mall of America with trains running through it.

Bottom floor by the Ross store, the Doner place. One of the best Doners I've had!

Great video, but the sound needs improvement. Must be wind blowing on mike, badly distorting your narrative.

@61detlef I think you will love Berlin. Just don't expect Germany as much as Central Europe. Berlin, to me, is 50% Germany and 50% Slovakia/Poland :)
