When I was a kid, I remember playing this song loud in my bedroom. Probably stoned. And when Fripp comes in with that awesome solo, my dad would appear at the door yelling "down, down".
I know exactly what you mean by underrated. In a wide public mind his work IS underrated, but if you think about it Brian Eno's name rings a bell to everyone
One of the best pro-feminist songs ever written and produced by a man. Literate and way ahead of the other male-composed feminist songs of its time (1973), not that there were that many (Roger McGuinn and Country Joe McDonald's are the only ones that spring to mind, though I'm sure there were others).
I love this album. It points the way to practically every genre in the 'rock' idiom. Eno is a genius.

Oh, Jesus! I had no idea. That explains it. He never yelled during Baby's on Fire. He must not have liked Manzanera!

I'm just discovering this album now. Very exciting. Can hear the influences of all the other glam bands I'm so into at the moment.

Speaking as someone who has owned this album for 30 years I'm quite sure Brian Eno wrote this song and this was it's first recording.
pompitus 2 years ago
Eno wrote it but initally for Roxy I suppose. Such a special song for sleazy crooner like Ferry.

I too owned the album in the 70's and wish that I still had it to enjoy. Timeless tunes...

The idea for Cindy says is kind of like Lou Reed songs like: Stefanie Says, and others I can't remember right not.
