Christians believed it was flat long afterward because of scriptural dogma. Research the question before you assume the answers. It's easy to observe the mast of a ship disappear over the horizon.

In it, the earth is referred to as a "circle", however the word used for "circle" in the original transcript is the same word used to describe the shape of an apple or pear. This was well before there was any way to scientifically prove it was spherical. India and China held on to the "earth is flat" belief much longer than Christians. And let's not forget, it wasn't JUST Christians, but scientists too.

The same precision of theory that allows your computer to work, also grounds the theory of evolution. So to say, "just a theory" is contrary to what the word "theory' actually means.
