I like Rory Delap but people who think his thrown in is special or new know next to nothing about football, that or you're just young and naive (which I am fortunately willing to forgive). Delap ain't got nothing on Tranmere Rovers old legend Dave Challinor who I remember flinging it into the box from anywhere in the opposition half. Oh, and I doubt that he was the first, if someone else can come up with an older example.

1- You throw way too close to the goalie (a gun can shoot a bullet 900m but if it doesn't hit the target whats the point)

2- Delap gets a spin on the ball that makes it bend slightly away from the goalie

3- Delap can use his feet too (almost defiantly better you can)

4- You do not play against half the opposition strength Delap plays against

@snerffy Refer to point 1, if you cant get the throw in to one of your teammates then you wasted it....Say it was a throw in with vidic or john terry defending then the skill you need to get the ball to your striker/midfielder becomes a bit higher and you with your current skills aren't very likely to even give your striker a chance to get on the end of it.
