For the most part, i dont think that those of you who dont believe in God have ever given it a chance. If you TRUELY knew what it was to be a Christian, you would listen to this song and know what Jesus Culture is talking about. Dont judge a book by its cover because someone, who may have claimed to be a christian, hurt you unintentionally because Christians are not perfect. That's what many people think, and they are wrong. I hung out with my friends at their church and eventually ended up believing. i believe that was God's plan for me. To find my own way. Not to be forced. Rather than to be told to find the way now or have your soul lost and burn in hell. We should give them a helping hand to find the way.

Atheists deny existence of God not because of science, but because of sin. They want to enjoy their sinful life. But their is no need to prove to anyone that God exists because the Bible says that everyone already knows that.

I have read all of these posts. Very interesting. First of all, arguments between Christians and atheists are rarely productive. Too many of us Christians live in a religious fog ... We're more about religion than relationship with Jesus Christ. Atheists and scientific types who look to logic and reason, rules and order, aren't too far removed from those who cling to the fog that religion has created for hundreds of years. Christians, we all just need to pray and act with love, gentleness, and respect. Only when God intervenes can they truly be changed and no simple arguments can do that. @blackkakashi128641 i beg to differ. its just the person who considers him or herself an intellectual that can be brought to Christ through argument. some very great minds have been brought to the faith simply because they see the logic behind Christianity and are able to submit themselves to what is actually true rather than their own biased and more often than not self-centered ideals.

We are weak and God is the one who comes into our life through many different ways. sometimes maybe through logic, or emotionally but ultimately it is God working in us not us making the decision, for ultimately he has called us to serve Him
@MegaStevesimmons (2) God works through the person and that person realizes that he/she needs a savior and that their debt it paid. With an argument they are changed but they are ultimately changed when they realize they are free from death through Christ.

@JMusicAson God has his own timing for everyone. And whether you are willing to accept Him is your own question. All I can say is God is a God of redemption and he is there for you. This is what I believe. He loves you and no matter how much we can argue, only when God intervenes and you pursue God is when he will come into your life. I don't have every answer to every question, but as I have grown in my walk with God, my questions become smaller and God becomes bigger.

For me it's not blind when I have had experiences and love that cause me to believe in Him. It does seem selfish on the onset. Jesus didn't need to come down from heaven to die for all of these creatures that detested, hated, and rebelled against Him. He did not have to suffer, but instead chose to humbly come down and save us. When you humble yourself and take God for something greater. it is so satisfying to know he is there.

I have one question for you, because your main basis of your arguments is using scripture as an argument. Now, don't get me wrong, all of those scriptures are there. My question is have you ever fully read through the bible. And my guess is no, because there are websites all over that say the bible says to not kill, yet there's killing in it, and it gives examples. If you actually read the verses you used in your argument, then look for all of the hidden messages, you may interpret differently.

Actaully if atheists think the existance of God is unscientifical or unlikely, most leading scientist admit to believing in the existance of a God. They claim that the conditions are too much of a coincidence for there not to be. The distance away from the sun and moon are apparently as perfect as it can get.

I recently learned this song on piano, and this song represents more that just a walk with God. It says that we should strive to encounter him on a more personal level. It says that god won't stop fighting for us until he has us all to himself, but ten it also says that we must have a yearning for him also.

This is inapplicable to my situation, takioc. I was born and raised in a Christian family, and served Christ for the first 21 years of my life. When, however, I came of age and realized that it was my turn to make the choice, I examined the empirical evidence for each side and chose to pitch my tent in the other camp.

Thankfully I never grew up not believing in God, just not knowing until 1993 when at a Baptist church in Houston I ran up the aisle to my pastor who hugged and prayed for me at which I accepted Jesus. @takioc These aren't my personal ideas and expectations...these are Biblical. In the OT, God killed thousands, if not millions. Then he provided a way for grace in the NT, but said nothing is guaranteed and apparently knows many of us are going to hell. God didn't make me...as he doesn't exist. I'm an engineering student, and a good method to show me if something exists is "Can it be disproven?". If the answer is no, it doesn't exist. I refuse to believe in fairy tales.
Jesus, the Son of God, was prophesied in the Jewish holy books, all over the place, but the Jews didn't accept Him because they didn't think the messaiah would be a man, much less a carpenter's son. Everything was all about social standings, so that's why the rabbis, pharisees, and sagicees, or what have you, got so upset at Jesus. It wasn't so much that he was going against their laws or prophecies, but that he was just some regular dude out of nowhere who was showing them up.

The second verse about setting a seal upon my heart is a direct reference to scripture. Its in Song of Songs 8:6. Verse 3 is a direct request of God to come into us and fill us with the Holy Spirit. And the bridge is a response to not allow ourself to just sing and praise because we have to... we worship God b/c of passion. :)

The Bible says that the law pointed to the need for a savior, because nobody could keep the law perfectly. So, Jesus came as that savior. That's why us Christian's are here, to save as many as possible. great song. I am a chrisitian. I believe there is a god. Do i have friends that i believe that there isnt, yeah but i dont try to prove them wrong. I am a follower not a leader, so I'm not so great on proving the points of why you too should believe. Most of this world's population need to see to believe. Atheists deny existence of God not because of science, but because of sin. They want to enjoy their sinful life. @JMusicAson God has his own timing for everyone. And whether you are willing to accept Him is your own question. All I can say is God is a God of redemption and he is there for you. This is what I believe. He loves you and no matter how much we can argue, only when God intervenes and you pursue God is when he will come into your life. I don't have every answer to every question, but as I have grown in my walk with God, my questions become smaller and God becomes bigger.

Jesus didn't need to come down from heaven to die for all of these creatures that detested, hated, and rebelled against Him. He did not have to suffer, but instead chose to humbly come down and save us. When you humble yourself and take God for something greater. it is so satisfying to know he is there.

I have one question for you, because your main basis of your arguments is using scripture as an argument. Now, don't get me wrong, all of those scriptures are there. My question is have you ever fully read through the bible. And my guess is no, because there are websites all over that say the bible says to not kill, yet there's killing in it, and it gives examples. If you actually read the verses you used in your argument, then look for all of the hidden messages, you may interpret differently.

I recently learned this song on piano, and this song represents more that just a walk with God. It says that we should strive to encounter him on a more personal level. I am a Christian and wouldn't have it any other way, however, too many other Christians are hypocritical. Jesus Himself told off many religious leaders of His day. FIRE has always meant judgement and purging of impurities, FIRE Biblically is NOT only passion. Wow, ... very well put into simple words. Thankfully I never grew up not believing in God, just not knowing until 1993 when at a Baptist church in Houston I ran up the aisle to my pastor who hugged and prayed for me at which I accepted Jesus. You are right about the accountability thing. What really gives me chills is the scripture of ( to absent of the body is to be present with Christ ) Cant remember the exact page, but it really answers who you will face when you take your last breath

@takioc I actually really enjoy this song as an atheist, but your comment is entirely what is wrong with modern Christianity. Afraid to face responsibility? How about freedom from guilt for living our lives? How about freedom from fear about an eternal life, coming from an evil God who tells his own creations to obey Him or they will spend the rest of time in eternal torment? Or one whom you expect to protect you on a drive, yet lets millions of lives blink out everyday?

@takioc These aren't my personal ideas and expectations...these are Biblical. In the OT, God killed thousands, if not millions. Then he provided a way for grace in the NT, but said nothing is guaranteed and apparently knows many of us are going to hell. God didn't make me...as he doesn't exist. I'm an engineering student, and a good method to show me if something exists is "Can it be disproven?". If the answer is no, it doesn't exist. I refuse to believe in fairy tales.

Jesus, the Son of God, was prophesied in the Jewish holy books, all over the place, but the Jews didn't accept Him because they didn't think the messaiah would be a man, much less a carpenter's son. Everything was all about social standings, so that's why the rabbis, pharisees, and sagicees, or what have you, got so upset at Jesus. It wasn't so much that he was going against their laws or prophecies, but that he was just some regular dude out of nowhere who was showing them up.

@xMaddieandMaddiex Why do you say this is sad?? This is a love song to God! Its a declaration of how He will never stop pursuing the hearts of the ones He loves. The second verse about setting a seal upon my heart is a direct reference to scripture. Its in Song of Songs 8:6. Verse 3 is a direct request of God to come into us and fill us with the Holy Spirit. And the bridge is a response to not allow ourself to just sing and praise because we have to... we worship God b/c of passion. :)

(sorry, I'm on an iPad and am not very good at controlling it), but it says to show them love and compassion. It says that those who do not believe will be cast into He'll for eternity where both their soul and body is dead, whereas believers-- not believers OF God, but people who Believe God. Will have theirnterrestrial bodies die-- but their souls will live forever in Heaven with God

@ndzoko You say I have no clue about the Bible, but you have no clue about my God. Most of those verses are Old Testament and the law then was to live and die by the law. The Bible says that the law pointed to the need for a savior, because nobody could keep the law perfectly. So, Jesus came as that savior. Yes, I understand Romans is in the new Testament, that's why I didn't say "all of those verses." If you're going to argue further I'm not going to bother to reply. Deuteronomy 4:29 <3

@MyMusicalProject So, you quit when it ` gets too tough. OK. I just reply, that your comment is just a pile of theologcial bullsh... needed to make the salvation story necessary. The Messiah was prohecised in the JEWISH holy books. They were and still are very versed in THEIR scriptures. When they say ..Jesus did nto fulfill the prophecies in OUR holy books, how can outsiders come and claim that he did. Don`t bother, I know why, because your faith can`t refute logic.

@ndzoko We don't want to kill them, nor do we. God frowns upon murder, it's a sin. Satan kills them and takes them with him. God doesn't want his children to go, Satan takes them. That's why us Christian's are here, to save as many as possible. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:19. God doesn't want them to go, Satan takes them away from Him. And he will burn forevermore when Jesus comes back!

@ndzoko I should add to my first one, God says that he would rather have somebody that doesn't know Him, opposed to somebody who knows who He is, denies Him, and knows what they're doing is wrong. That's why people like me are meant to get people to know God and who He is, He doesn't send people to Hell, He doesn't want them there in the first place. Satan STEALS Gods children. When you hear voice in your head telling you to something bad, it's Satan bringing you one step farther from God.
