lol this is totally fake. Ogilvy & Mather, the company that produced this ad (which, btw never did make airtime) got in some pretty hot water for it with PETA though, despite it not being real...
I was production manager on this project... you would not believe how many cats we used to get this shot. It took about a dozen for us to realize that we needed to actually add a blade to the sun roof in order to get full decapitation. To be honest though the initial attempts are even more comical - much more struggling/meowing. However 'the boss' demanded full decapitation, and I see his point.. merely breaking the neck did not nearly have the impact of seeing the body slide off the car.
I've 2 cats and I can still laugh at that. BTW i bet you've seen some action movies riiight, well you don't whine every frikin time someon FAKELY is killed do ya. Tink about dat one!
