And let me end my boring lines by telling you that I have devloped such a high, opmistic view of the space programmes only aftr reading one of Your great sci-fi writers, Isaac Asimov. I also like L.Ron Hubbard, but not that much cos he did some really strange things. Lets not get into that, I don't want Cruise or Travolta suing my ass.
And only with a good income, we can do what you'll call 'wasting up the taxpayers money'. The fact is, 400 years before the 1950s, your country was barren land, and mine had the highest GDP in the world. Your country grew up to become a great nation. My country, is growing up again. Our confrontaion would be with the country on our East. And we have to outdo our competitors them, like you did yours.
I find the India of today pretty similar to the US of the 60's or 70's. You had an enemy with communism right next to you then, we have it today. You had an amazing counter culture developing at that time that shaped your country, we have it now. When people have only the mere basic necessities of life, they do not have the choice to question, or the choice to devlop thre nation in ways such as these. Somalia would not be launching a space shuttle in say, the next 50 years atleast.
Your country does not waste your money by sending Space probes, you probably know this because you seem like a well informed guy. The advantages are numerous, mabe not so much in the near future, but definately in say, a hundred years. During the cold war, the space race was a symbol. Today its not, because USA and the USSR revealed the numerous possibilities of outer space. Also, we DID find water, which you missed :-).
First of all, lemme tell u that I am an Indian. Secondly, I totally get it tht you made this video for fun, unlike some of the guys who hve left comments here. The video was funny in places, though could've been funnier. What you did in the 1960's, we are doing nw, because of the same reasons u guys sent a man to space even though Russia had sent one before the US. Infact, India did put a man in space in the 1980's.
tell u wht bro. 70% of NASA is comprised of Indians or ppl with Indian origin. The list goes on and on if i were to say wht indians are doing to help US recover from the current economic crisis.don't forget the contibution of the indian ppl in US.
Psst... Only America has ever gone to the moon! Don't send the Russians to moon when they haven't been there yet. Time to open up your cold war history books :)
India is testing its PSLV rocket on the pretext of moon mission. But actually India is working to perfect the ICBM ''Surya''.The Surya-1 will have an expected range of up to 6,000 km. Surya-2 has a reported range of 8,000 to 12,000 km. Surya-3 will have range of more than 20,000 km.With this ICBM we can target any country on the surface of earth including USA.
Going to the moon is NOT useless. The rocket used was PSLV which is India's launcher for commercial satellite launching business. This moon mission is an ADVERTISEMENT for that launcher. Moon mission builds credibility for PSLV rocket. BTW India makes profit using PSLV launching other countries' satellites.
Also US probe is a win-win deal. We don't charge and you share data. US probe doesn't "help" Chandrayaan reach the moon though but starts working after it reaches moon 's orbit.
Haha . You think you are a Rapper???? Well we are intelligent and we know what we are doing mate... U dont know why India's is exploring the moon???. ha ha... Try and know it. The Future is ours mate. Either u are with us or against. And unlike u guys we are not doing it for tourism, but knowledge.
ya, i agree, but no country gave us croyogenic tech when we needed at 60's, then u can think why Nasa want to give some components now, because even though they don't give, we will develop it :-) India developed bit by bit, and finally launched this moon mission after sending 10-13 satellites at oneshot. I congratulate ISRO for this achievement. it is not a waste as we get lot of contracts to launch satellites for less money compared to gayana satellite center shooting cost.
Josh Redo, actually, NASA, ESA and Bulgaria have their instruments boarded free of cost. there has been no expenditure of the tax payers of the US.Secondly you failed to mention that this is the cheapest moon mission till now, 80 million dollars. only one rocket India used in 1954 was Nike Apache sounding rocket. After that every rocket developed by India was original in its design.
Dear JoshRedo, found your response to fair overall, but I would like to correct one misimpression you seem to have @ 2:11 where you say " the US is endorsing this mission and giving India equipment and mapping equipment & some nasa stuff etc..." sorry to break it to you, but it's NASA that's hitching a free ride on this probe with their payload. NASA approached the Indians when they learned that they were planning a lunar probe, the Indians agreed (thus saving your taxpayers money).Good post tho
China and India both have a middle class of around 200 to 300 million out of a billion+ people....the majority of people in both countries live in the country side!!! Poverty exists in both countries....more in India and lesser in China...So when China conducts its space program....people talk about progress of the country....but when it comes to India its a waste...DOUBLE STANDARDS.....
yes NASA is sending some equipment so is ESA... but none of them really spend their money for the Indians......Problem is when ever India does anything High tec.....Space or anything else......people in developed countries cant stand the fact that a developing country like India is going high tec!
mate in the future any big space venture.....cant be done by a single country! so if China and japan....are in the space race why not India?.....sitting in USA you prob will never get it.....but things a Asia are changing...the balance of power etc.....and no wants to be left out!!!
If you could understand complex things like these, why would california need a crap load of H1-b's anyway. You start with rocket launch ,discuss about green aliens and sealed it up with a 'yao, and thats weird' ... dam your a dumb nazi
India's moon mission is ultimately aimed at mining the moon for Helium 3, which is supposed to be a safe source for nuclear fusion, without generating radioactive waste!
Ur 23 now. When ur 48, the father of 2 or 3 children, the technology will be in use. Helium is a potential resource. Ur children and theirs will enjoy clean, safe energy!
useless vid... whats the point ....??

India found water on the moon with only about $60 million, but USA couldn't do it with $138 Billion over 11 years! lol!

Is this video intended as comedy, or commentary?
It fails at both. Please take your camera and crush it underfoot as soon as possible. Thank you and good night.

If you already went to the moon then why did Russia and Japan and China go there? Did you tell those countries the same: been-there-done-that?

there is no way of using helium3 as a energy source.....no one has that kind of technology yet!!! it would take 20 to 25 years to use it as energy!
