I don't think I'd be following so close in that instance. I've hit winds like that, I was SB on I-65 in Kentucky, west wind 45-50 MPH had to ride my right steer tire on the edge of the pavement to keep the trailer out of the left lane. highway curved to the west & as soon as I was driving directly into the wind my driver side rearview mirror folded up against my window. decided to stop. had to use the wrenched to loosen the bolts in the mirror to straighten the mirror out,, the bolts were tight
Theres no such thing as a almost fail. U either fail or u don't! I think that prime driver did a hell of a job keepin the dirty side down! WAY TO GO PRIME!
@Weezy10580 funny i worked for them for years and loved it. got great runs got to pick my runs and even got to pick my truck. AND I WAS COMPANY DRIVER. went thru 3 dispatchers and they were all cool. got plenty of rest and miles on elogs. i was never pushed to take loads either.
@mark442w30 Well I hope you enjoyed staying out 6 weeks at a time making a measly wage. Let me know when you start making 62 cpm and are home everyday like me.
@Weezy10580 nope stayed out 3 weeks and the max i stayed out was five weeks and i chose to. in the summer i stayed out three weeks. i was home for christmas. home for two job interviews and i got the one job i have now. and i made some good ass money. NOTE i nolonger work for prime. so im not endorsing them , I would go back to work if i had to for prime. i made good money. but i showed my wife the US and we had fun. remember if your nice to your dispatcher you cxan get anything you want.i did
Damm, I wish it would have blown the rate cutting shithead over. Oh well maybe next time. Just hope the dumb ass driving dosent get hurt. I do have a soul you know.
@Lowcountrytrucker Prime would rather have him risk the load to get there on time than having him stop and have to waste thousands of dollars for a late delivery and having to pay lumpers that were waiting for him even though it might just be more expensive replacing that whole load of whatever his carrying. I know how those trucking company dispatches operate their drivers TRUST ME
@leandro5999 No doubt, but I'm telling ya right know at that point and time he had that seat sucked about half way up he's ass. TRUST ME, I've looked in that west coast before and seen them tires leave the ground back when I was a rookie. It's a white knuckle ride you don't forget. FUCK that dispatcher. I'd rather be fire for a late delivery than a rollover. Rollovers are career killers. These dispatchers take advantage of rookies cuz they're afraid to say no.
Had to be a empty trailer or a top heavy load in there...I've been all over the country with my dad when I was little we hauled all types of loads, mostly dry van and reefers, never ever had something like this and we drove through higher winds...I think maybe this driver might not of been negotiating his steering wheel very well...But again that's only my opinion..
@braambo it was MT. if he had any sort of load in there, it wouldnt have gone up on the right side. I was traveling south on Hwy 63 in Iowa from MN, and I remembered this video. I didnt get it up on one side, but i was darn close. I cranked it right, just like this driver did to be sure it DIDN'T start to go over. But yeah....to the driver who was driving a semi truck and taking video in the same weather condition. Rather showed how UNprofessional the author is. kinda sad....
OK MR HOTSHOT ANDREKING LETS SEE U SAVE A TRANSPORT U THINK U CAN DO BETER??? U MAKE A VID OF YOUR DRIVING SKILLS U TAKE A RIG WITH THE SAME CONDITION AND SEE HOW EASY IT IS AND ILL BE WAITING AND IM SURE ALOT OF US WILL BE TOO!
ok first of all to the guy that put this up arent your hands to be on both wheels while driving insted of being a dam instergateder he may have been a rookie driver that didnt know what he was doing, and for you to been driving how ever many years have been and flimin this is mess up some pro you are!lol get a life!
@blaknoizee der i know my this happend to my dad once it just takes skills to recover un like no skilled let it roll but some times it out of there hands
that cant be a good feeling but you can tell he was experienced or was a good listener in skool because at 0:54 if that was a rookie he would have flipped over right then and there lol
@bigrigdriver1221 wow this is crazier than actually seeing one go all the way over...to be honest I was about to rip you for ur rookie comment because i figured he was just going to fast around the corner and almost tipped it 3 times but then i read the dicription and you are very right lol a rookie would have been completelyt FUCKED!
if you would notice he did exactly the right thing in that situation. He slightly turned the way the truck was leaning causing centrifical force to set the trailer back down. He and whoever trained him deserve a commendation for a job well done. As for stopping sometimes there is no safe place to stop so you just ease on till you find one.
@chesterman31 common snese about what? with a comment like that I'm assuming you have lots of common sense so plz tell me what common sense you are talking about!
he just needs to slow down maybe even stop if the winds that bad and charlieho14 id like to see you in that situation you shit your pants and roll the truck
@Sk8BoardTrucker lol yeah, luck had nothing to do with it, you can see he over took the left lane a little so he had room to crank it right. That was skill, no such thing as luck in a truck.
@wtfmanicanthaveaname If that wasn't luck then the earth isn't round. The driver had NO talent/skill what so ever. He was doing the typical steering away from where the truck is drifting, which they teach any driver (truck or car) not to do. When steering left wasn't working tried the brakes, when the brakes didn't work fast enough he finally steered enough into the skid/drift to correct the problem but that likely was a dumb luck maneuver based on him running out of left lane to go left on.
I work for Prime. In fact I am sitting at the terminal in Missouri now on downtime. On a trip to Texas this week I encountered very strong winds and was being hit hard, fast and continiously. having 76,000 helped alot but twice i thought I was going over. Looking back, I should have shut it down.
shit after he i almost lost her the first time i would have stoped.
