For the lady below (jeralee23), most educated people know there is no such thing as African American hair - with that said - most African Americans like to be called African American because it's better than being called "Black" - because for many of us it's rude and our skin is not freakin black. Besides, I've seen many "Biracial" people with some bad hair. So there is a such thing as African American hair if your don't make a big deal out of everything - like a white person!
any cosmetic product can't stop hair loss.visit stophairlossfast.wordpress. com or hairlossbesttreatment.blogspot. com/ to know why you lose your hair and how to solve this problem!

there is no such thing as african american hair. That would suggest they they all have the same type of hair. But then again there African American is a inaccurate term anyways. What if your black Jamaican? Are you African? Why can't you just be Jamaican or American?
@1stwierdo this is exactly why i prefer to be called black. It has a wider meaning and does not single out only one part of m blood line. Mixed works too but we are all a little mixed. you are so right about the hair type!
There actually is a hair shampoo and conditioner formulation that is natural. The combination softens black hair without chemical. I had sold it to may coworkers who really like the result. This is best for children because it has no chemical except for the small preservative. Only caution if someone was allergic to natural product. So Natural shampoo and conditioner from naturalgreenbotanicalsdotcom Please check it out. A young man insists it gets his curl out, he loves this product.
hi :) its just a regular conditioner but i find leaving in some conditioner (any kind) helps keep my hair moisturized till the next wash. and when it comes time to wash my hair since its already conditioned as soon as water hit it, any tangles seems to slip loose by themselves. this makes my detangling session a breeze :)
it worked!! I have a tight curl pattern of hills and valleys (i have coils if i usea an oil or a buter which I don't usually use). my hair is thicker and kinkier in back, somewhat thicker and frizzy on one side and looser and thinner on the top. the other side is looser too. washed with rusk, christo's conditioner for 15 minutes, rinsed, added rusk calm condish, combed, raked sections, rinse some of product out, then smoothed (the palm smooth). my frizzy side didn't frizz. almost dry will b back
I'm a first timer for your videos and enjoyed seeing your progression. I'm interested in your cut. Is the shape due to pro cut, trims (self). My hair is very long at the nape but I don't want to cut it just yet. I've been natural 2 years and wear a wavy bun style. My hair is fine and spiral curled as well. I'd love to wear it down but I'll try your products first to see if the curls stay loose or make the shape more natural. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. ;)
Your hair looks great! I use Garnier Fructis shampoo and Herbal Essence's :Break's Over" and "Hello Hydration" conditioners (as reg. and leave-in). I'm not certain what my hairtype is (3c/4a??).
I'm 19 and I've been transitioning since july '09 and its march '10. I want to do the big chop but i'm terrified and my mom told me that the doesn't think I should and she's gonna be mad and I'm going to egret it so I don't know what to do...
@Subaru009 You're farther off than I am. I started growing natural Dec 09, chopped some of it....not all. My hair is real short. I'm to impatient to wait 5 months before cutting it(my original plan) I'm going to chop it and get a wig....if i can't style it
Don't listen to your mom, its sad that she's an adult and hasn't grown out of being superficial. thats more than enough time of transitioning to have a pretty decent length of hair and i;m sure your hair beautiful
i just BC'ed after a 4 month transition and i havent been happier!
i transitioned for about a year too. and yeah i got side comments from my parents, but it's hair. this is how it grows. What's wrong with that? No one gave me side comments when i was 5 and rockin' my own hair. why now?!?!? *sigh* anyway GOOD LUCK :D

JUST DO IT GIRL!! No Regrets :)
hi! I changed from using tresseme to using rusk conditioners, because it seemed to give me less shrinkage.
however i did notice the growth spurt! last year around this time i got a nice growth spurt too. i use to think most people hair grew more in the summer but winter seems to be my lucky time :)
@emgurl1234 Oh wow. Summer has been so harsh on my hair. I'm glad winter is coming, thats' when my growth really comes out.! well mostly because i'm not sweating in the heat
i love rusk calm! its my favorite conditioner. i never tried using it for a wash n go. i did notice when its in my hair it makes it look really defined. i might try leaving it on and see what happens
Your curls are beautiful! I have a similar texture along the perimeter (the back of my hair has a tighter curl pattern and is drier). You're blessed to have uniformity! Thanks for sharing.
Google earthonme hair care they have the best moisturizer for natural hair. You must try the product.

shampoo and a conditioner got ur hair so wavy???

@Tu51ndBl4d3 it's her natural hair texture. Some conditioners can define your natural hair type, but no products can create wavy or curly hair.

How do you get your hair curly like that? Or is it just the natural texture of how you hair is?

Thanks for the detangling tips. Now I know one thing I've been doing wrong.
Don't go by my profile photo. That's photo-shopped hair, lol.
Looking at your beautiful hair made me think of Chris Rocks documentary, "Bad Hair."
You would have made a good rebuttal that black hair can be beautiful if treated right.
