I've been to a Rickson seminar and I assure you people: Rickson is just PLAYING with the people he rolls with on these videos. He barely broke a sweat in the seminar I was in and rolled with like 30 people straight. He announced that he would submit the last five guys with an "arme-lock" on each man's left arm. He didn't disappoint.

it's a momentum sweep coz his opponent is pushing forward towards rickson's head, rickson's right arm hold the opponent's left leg and pulling his body towards the opponent's left leg, while rickson's left leg used the momentum to kick to his left side, and his right leg pushing opponent's left armpit, while still trapping the left arm. i'm not an expert but i use it a lot to my brother.
Hahahahahah... outdated. Typical. I'm relieved Kron is showing us some good old "outdated" jiu-jitsu again. There's outdated and trendy, and then there's classic and timeless. Rickson's jiu-jitsu is the latter.
From what I have seen, Rickson and Gracie style BJJ is definately outdated compared to somebody like Marcelo garcia. At least when it comes to sport grappling.
I VIDEOTAPED THIS! it was from a seminar done by a hapkido guy named Kellar in Oakpark illinois, the day after kurt cobain died in spring 1994.
From being there I can attest that all the guys he was grappling were guys with no real grappling experience and were basically just run of the mill martial arts students.
well considering one of the selling points of Bjj is being able to beat bigger stronger guys its actually not really...and as a white belt i have tapped guys who outweighed me by that much...and no they weren't tubs of lards either.
you know what was even more amazing? watching marcelo garcia DOMINATE - TOP COMPETITION in the past 3 abu dhabi's. much more impressive than watching rickson tap some fat wrestler... this is not that impressive considering that big guy is not a top guy
Yea... Marcelo Garcia is sick!! He's most assuredly one of the best grapplers in the world. If you watch his style, he's got it down flawless. He's so technical.

You do know that that wrestler outweighs Rickson by like 100 lbs. If you ever grappled before you'd know how impressive that is.

Yeah but the speed and efficiency Rickson had while doing it was what was impressive.
I mean I do believe you tap out guys like that. I do too. It's just that Rickson makes it look incredibly easy and that takes skill.
