I spent 21 years as a Military Policeman in the Royal Canadian Navy and 13 years with the RCMP. I finally had to get out because the constant exposure to violence, crime, deceit, and human suffering was starting to warp my soul. This week a very lovely young girl from church here in RJ was raped and killed when she came back from a very special meeting with Elder D. Todd Christofferson, that was a shock and I asked why could such tragedy happen with a so lovely girl.
Today in her funeral, when the missionaries sang this marvelous and peaceful hymn I could understand that even when it is difficult to understand such things in some moments of our lives, everything will be ok in the end, if we trust in Heavenly Father.

Every group has those same problems. Even Catholics. I don't think size of a church makes its true, its the truth of the gospel that makes its true. I used to be Catholic and become Mormon because I felt in my own heart this was the right thing despite how much adversity the church has. I spent 21 years as a Military Policeman in the Royal Canadian Navy and 13 years with the RCMP. This week a very lovely young girl from church here in RJ was raped and killed when she came back from a very special meeting with Elder D. Todd Christofferson, that was a shock and I asked why could such tragedy happen with a so lovely girl.
Today in her funeral, when the missionaries sang this marvelous and peaceful hymn I could understand that even when it is difficult to understand such things in some moments of our lives, everything will be ok in the end, if we trust in Heavenly Father.

Every group has those same problems. Even Catholics. I don't think size of a church makes its true, its the truth of the gospel that makes its true. I used to be Catholic and become Mormon because I felt in my own heart this was the right thing despite how much adversity the church has. I know people say so many things about the book of mormon, but how many of them have actually read it with an intend to understand it?

There are bad people worldwide no matter what religion they are. Believe it or not there are bad people in that Catholic church, in the Mormon church, in the Methodist church, in the Baptist church, in Islam religions, etc. Just because you go to church doesn't mean that you don't get tempted by the devil to do bad things.

Jesus doesn't want you to fight over Him. Instead, you should walk towards Him with your fellow brothers and sisters. Just like you are a child of God, so is everyone else on this planet.
Accept that others have different views than you. Even though Jesus was crucified on the cross by horrible people, he still loved every one of them and forgave them. You should follow his ways and do so.

I will pray for you as a Mother of '7'children some of whom are Catholic , Methodist, Episcopalian, Baptist, non-sectarian, etc. I joined the Church aver 30 years ago, and we all respect each other's faiths.
