I always loved this, and am happy to find out that Don Williams was part of the group - loved him when he started singing solo. Thanks for the info and posting the video
This was the last song I herd while going to work with my DAD he was there 49 years and said maybe we will have time now together. They carried him out on a stretcher. HE died that day and we never had that good good time together, I have been in between and wondering why .I never saw him again. For me TIME says it all, TODAY is our TIME enjoy it,or ull never live.
Did you know that Susan Taylor of the Pozos has 4 cds out as Taylor Pie?? We're pleased to say that our label is Pie's biggest fan and supporter! Check her videos out @ puffbunnyrecordsinc
like kenny rogers first edition, mike nesmith moving beyond monkees, everyone else looking to further their own thing(goldie hawn, rowan and martin, smothers bros.). not a bad thing, pioneers.
Michael Merchant was graduated from Roy Miller High Schoolin Corpus Christi, Texas in 1964. He went to the University of Pennsylvania and I lost contact with him. This song did make it to the top of the charts in 1966. If anyone has any knowledge of Michael Merchant, I would love to hear from him or you.
@Dolister Actually, this song just barely missed making the Top 40 which is why it has been left off the playlist of so many formula "oldies" stations throughout the U.S. which would play only those songs that did make the Top 40.
Heard this at a party in Houston, TX. Loved it. Started Univ. of Houston the nest year at the age of seventeen(overwhelming). They were a prelude to the entire sixties generation that I was happily a part of. Summer of sixty-nine went to Nw York ciity, dropped a course and was drafted.(1969!!!) They didn't want me after discussing my views with them. Wpent the rest of summer in San Fran.on Haight-Ashbury. Went to a 3-day festival two weeks after Woodstock which rivaled it. Check it out.
And once...in a far-away land...way in our rear-view mirror...we still had "singers and musicians" instead of "yellers and noisicians"...how blessed we were...Tunesmith
@elmerhdga LOL, I searched and searched for time progressive photos online to use in this video and just found a wide assortment I thought would work. I have no idea who the ladies are (some may be models). Thanks for the note.
@11xzxzxz Sorry, it took me a while to find out who wrote "Time"...a man by the name of Michael Merchant wrote it and I searched and cannot find any background info on him...Lanny (Nocaro on YouTube)
@Nocaro Yeah I forgot I asked the question but I looked him up and saw his pic but hardly any info. Now I can't find much of anything or I'd share it. I think he went to HS with Don WiIlliams or something like that.. I forget as Time has affected me memory..ha.
It never made it to the top 40 because most people are wrong about most things most of the time. And most people have lousy taste in music and if there were a god he'd tell them to their Small Faces I guess this goes against conventional wisdom but the best records of all time never see the light of day or top 40. And you will never see the face of god because .. the answer is obvious but only to the few.
hey lanny....never get tired of hearing this one....susan taylor had a very soft voice and blended well with lofton and don....i always likened them to folkies and loved their recordings....tx for posting
