  • Does a faster form of Tai Chi exist?

  • @WillMasterke

Yes, it does. In Chen style it is called "Lao Jia Er Lu" - the second bare had form in traditiaonal Chen style

    Taijiquan.

    Greetings from Germany/Bonn

  • I've not seen tai chi performed so beautifully. Thanks for sharing :)

Your video captured all the nuances of his movements and the energy

    he plays with.

    LuFen

  • @lufenful

Yes, it´s as you said. During filming this I felt the same. It was amazing. :-)

  • Beautiful :)

  • Sa nièce Xuejiao CHEN est ma professeur de Tai Chi Chuan. Elle est pas mal non plus.

  • oh wow! i study with a disciple of his! IT is so great to see the actual form performed. this stuff isnt easy too! takes alot of leg muscle and core. Very suprising how much more difficult it is when u try and you are being corrected, so you know what u are doing wrong. :)

  • Awesome.

  • This looks cool, but what is it?

I mean the point of it?

Something ot do with Chi energy? or am i getting confused?

  • This is Chen family martial art (Chen Taijiquan). The point of it is the same as any martial art...self defense and combat. Practiced slowly to develop proper body structure, in real combat would be fast but still balanced.

  • Thanks for the info =]

  • kinda slow for me. I prefer Wushu Bo-staff

  • How I wish to be his student... WOW!

  • his taijiquan is perfect, mesmerizing.

  • This is fairly premium. Anyone know how old Chen Zheng Lei is?

  • This year he is celebrating his 60th

  • Some people started clapping in the middle of the routine...funny

  • This isn't a mixed form as such - its xin jia er lu, New frame 2nd routine (cannon fist). Different routine to old frame cannon fist. Nice video, wish I was there :)

  • First...thanks for the comment. But it IS a mixed form. Mixed from "Old frame 1st routine", CZL´s simplefied "18th Routine" AND from "New frame 2nd routine".

  • I agree with ChenShanDe: It is a mixed form. I think GM Chen Zhenglei is performing the following in this order:

    1. The first part of his 18 essential forms routine

    2. Dao Juan Hong from the Old Frame 1st routine

    3. A compilation of the New Frame 2nd routine

It is always good to see GM Chen Zhenglei performing. Thanks for the video!

  • That´s right. :-)

  • The lazy about tying coat at the start is performed old style, this is not xinjia, it is combined.
