@Blaven233 I have heard about Svalbard.. its a great ship and a real beauty.. I think they can switch to use natural gas as fuel.. they probably only have to use Diesel when they need full power/speed
I look forward Iceland will recivice a sister ship next summer notice how this ship handles this rough seas not a proplem to manuvere a bowl of soup in crazy storms!

Harstad really is a great ship,the Norwegians talk about her as small . I don't know what they are used to, she looks mighty to me
they came over for seamens day celebration last summer,they opened for the public, I was thinking about taking a look ,
but when I saw her she looked really really big I got the feeling I would become an old man on my way to the bridge

@sgnewa the norwegian "Flag" Coast guard is KV Svalbard, you can google or youtube it.:) think svalbard is around 105meters long..

It`s the new "Barentshav" class vessels which can switch to natural gas... There are built 3 ship in this class, and one more in order... I think..
The tree ships are:
"Barentshav"
"Sortland"
"Bergen"

Svalbard is the longest and heavyest ship in the norwegian coastguard.... I`ts build as an icebreaker and is no good in rough sea.
