Unfortunately the test vehicles never see any off road action, testing is done inside a large warehouse, where they drive around concrete and metal ramps, and over bolted down log piles. Far from "trail" rated. Shoot even Landrover has a real off road testing course. If you think Im wrong please show me a link that shows a specific factory jeep real off road course.
Unfortunately I've never really been able to take my Jeep off road. I've gone off road maybe a few hundred feet but there's nowhere around my area to do it legally. My Grand Cherokee has both 2wd & 4wd fulltime. I normally prefer 4wd since I feel more comfortable with all 4 wheels grasping the pavement.
I'm a proud Jeep owner who just learned a couple of new things. I already knew some of what the video was stating & I think the Jeep is one of a kind. I drove through about 15 inches of water, ice & melted snow one winter without realizing it until I saw the water up close to my Grand Cherokee's grill. I was like holy crap Batman!
thats a load of crap . the $2 trail rated badge really means the jeep was made for the 05 and above model years. they just say all that bullshit about offroad capability for people that dont know anything about jeeps to get interested in buying one. and i know this because i compared my dads 05 "trail rated" liberty and my 2003 liberty side by side. the only difference is that i got a westin brush guard and he had foglights and cruise control, traction control and abs
They started using it after 05, yes, but there are vehicles without it...namely the non-4wd compass and Patriot. Of course there's no difference between the '03 and '05 liberties.
well i knew that all the 2wd jeeps dont have it. the compass and patriot arent jeeps. u cant touch any offroad surface with them theyre just a dodge caliber in jeep badging

Actually I think the Patriot with one of the 4wd systems gets a trail rated badge too, but I don't know much I would trust it on lol.

yea the only offroading u can use that little jeep for is occasionally hopping the curb
