  • Hmm. Hopefully they have improved since when you purchased yours. I only use my keys once or twice per day so I shouldn't have too much wear and tear for a quite some time.

  • Really expensive as hell for such cheap material used to make it

  • @slipnoth

I'm hoping that the V2 or Version 2 will be made of stronger materials. Not just the keyport but the Heads of the keys too. They sent me a replacement one and I've been careful with it. No breakage but the key heads seem like they are getting loose again. Makes me sad. But even with careful use I think the heads will need replacing in the near future. You do have to make sure that the key is cut precise and that the lock moves freely to keep from putting the extra strain on it

  • I've had mine for about half a year now and I can tell its not going to hold up much longer. Definitely felt like these could have been made better, I can see cracking in numerous areas now. Wish they offered a 'bomb proof' version, I would gladly pay more for one that is made with better materials. 3 out of 5

  • @centerstagela

I want a bomb proof version too! SIGN ME UP!

  • This makes me question whether I want to buy it or not.

  • @Residew

Only buy one if you don't mind the expense of keeping it up. Or wait till after the 1st of the year for Version 2. Not sure the exact date but rumors of V2 are close to launch.

  • Just so you know we have done thorough testing of the product. You cannot physically break the skulls unless they are over-torqued. I've had the same Blades in my Keyport for 2 years and I've never broken one. The failure rate with our customers is very low but always due to an incident which causes a chain reaction resulting in a cracked skull and bent channels.

  • I did mention to Logan about the damaged channels. If your company keeps recorded logs of the phone calls then if you play it back you will definitely hear that I mentioned the damaged channels. I believe the damaged channels to be caused by the HEADS of the keys breaking. The keys I had are cut that they fit and do not require any over-torquing to open or turn the lock cylinder. As you can see from the video, I love my Keyport Slide and have nothing but good things to say about it.

  • Aaron, as Logan mentioned on the phone, we stand proudly behind our products and had already sent you replacement Blades before you posted your video. You neglected to mention the damaged channels during the call, so we will have to replace your Keyport as well. The problem you are experiencing typically occurs with over-torquing your Keyport, and/or miscut Blades. Your Keyport will withstand 20 ft lbs. of twisting torque. Most locks and ignitions operate at 1-3 ft. lbs with properly cut Blades.
