James Toney is a very under rated Heavyweight, his fights are actually quite exciting and to see big men exchanging like they do in a James Toney fight; is rare to say the least. As he aged he could never have stayed at Middle weights or even Light Heavyweight. & even as a heavyweight he's always been far more mouscle than fat, maybe 15 % body fat. He has had some thyroid problems which can effect weight. Not to meantion the many demons he must face as we all do plus maintaning a championship fighting career. He let it get out of control a few times, it's been a hard few years for Toney, but he's back healthy mind and body,
okay, a MMA world champion will beat a Boxing world champion in a fight. In a Boxing match its logical to believe the Boxer will win. That's it, but theres no formula that an MMA fighter can't be successful in Boxing if they are trained as boxers and they're is no formula that says if a boxer trains MMA styled arts for several years that they can't be successful in MMA
Boxers will only survive in MMA if they train like MMA fighters and thats it. Train JiuJitsu, boxing/kickboxing, wrestling, and etc than they have a chance. Pure Boxing as you only route to fighting is just silly

. James Toney said that Boxing was the better discipline and challenged the current UFC heavyweight champion, so they gave him an old Randy . I think they just understood how bad ppl wanted to see more proof of MMA superiority in a fight situation. Also Brock Lesnar did win the Heavyweight championship so it's hard to say he didn't deserve the fight, but I get what you mean.

If someone with sick BJJ skills like Werdum, Maia, or Aoki can't get you to the mat, the skill is irrelevant. But the bottom line is the fight starts standing up and if you can't box, or at least defend, then you're fucked.
