Good for sport, not the street. Why would you stay on the ground? Now if I am pulled into someone's guard, I am NOT going to put my head on their chest! I am going to maintain a good posture, drive my fist into his groin and or inner thigh to break the lock of the legs.. Once that is done I am on my feet again. No need to grapple at all! This technique is sport oriented, which is fine. But not advisable for a practical self-defense situation.
the guy on the top is risking to be put in an arm bar the first movement after the bicep control when he choke the black guy and after that when he try to take his leg there is an easy triangle. at less this technique would work perfectly if you knock out the other gut first
I love how every video on you tube has at least 100 comments of people that could do it better or give you pointers. Make your own vids chicken shits.
@shredjedi I'm going to once I get a new camera, trust me. But I do agree with you. Everyone talks, but never put's their own stuff out there. There is a much simpler way to get out of the guard, both for sport and defense. I will cover the defense because I am not a sport oriented person.
might be effecting throwing 1 shot to face...but yea...any more than that is asking for an arm bar or triangle. still thinks its an effective move it used slightly differently though.
Grab the belt and drive elbows into thigh muscles while keeping head down its very painful on his legs and will open them. Next go under legs and into a hold down or other. Trying to choke in that position is horse crap. Like the last comment - he is asking to be arm barred.
in real all out fight , you can punch your opponents groin.so closed guard kinda unsafe is it not ?if i can get a closed guard i might as well just place my legs on opponents chest and kick and scramble to my feet.
THIS INFORMATION WORKS GOOD ON CERTAIN TYPES OF FIGHTERS BUT, FOR A JUDO AND BJJ FIGHT;BEWARE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE LOOKING TO GET KILLED. ALSO, LEARN GROUND FIGHTING FROM A BJJ OR JUDO PERSON AND NOT FROM THESE ALL TO NEW "WANNA BE" HYBRID MODERN DAY AMERICAN JIUJITSU SYSTEMS. YOU ALL SAW THE FIRST FIVE UFC'S RIGHT! OK. NOW EVERYBODY THINKS THEY CAN TEACH BJJ THROUGH THEIR HYBRID JAPANESE JIUJITSU SYSTEM.
@daniels37 Japanese came first. You obviously don't know what your talking about Daniel-san. Plus BJJ came from Judo, which came from Japanese Jujutsu.
@HairofSteel555 SO WHAT! SO WHAT IS YOUR POINT? I NEVER SAID THAT BJJ CAME BEFORE JAPANESE. BUT ONE THING IS FOR SURE, BJJ IS FAR MORE AFFECTIVE THAN ANY JAPANESE JIUJITSU. HOW DO I KNOW? BECAUSE I PRACTICE THEM BOTH AND I PROVED IT MANY OF TIMES.
@HairofSteel555 SETTLE DOWN FOR WHAT? ARE YOU TRYING TO BE A WISE ASS OR WHAT? IF YOU HAVE A REAL QUESTION TO ASK ME,JUST ASK ME AND STOP TRYING TO CRITIQUE ME.
@daniels37 I GUESS I'LL RAISE MY VOICE TOO, DANIEL-SAN! And I asked a real question, where have you used you jujutsu, the cage or the street. Or maybe even both. Your ALL CAPS RAGE makes you look like a dick bag, you may know what your talking about. But until you settle down and answer the question I refuse to take you seriously. PM me even. I have 11 years of martial arts experience, I wanna know your's.
@daniels37 dude,i have to agree with hairofsteel, japanese jujitsu was the daddy of alot of martial arts which developed from it, and for you to say BJJ is more effective is stupid- its more or less a sport-there is ground grappling in japanese jujitsu also-the basic necessary stuff. whether you like it or not bjj has always been painted as a martial art whereby a smaller man can defeat a bigger man-yeah after years of training, a few nights a japanese jujitsu could get you out of a hole
@angkachays Then you stop being a pussy and shove your fingers so deep into his eyes that you can scratch his brain. If Your opponent takes more than 6 shots to the face and doesn't let up, you stop worrying about "rules"
0:57 - When my legs come apart you're screwed. Triangle, armbar, ankle sweep, foot on stomache, rollover techniques. Passing the closed guard is difficult, but NEVER resort to standing up!
@jasonleerock1 The way he does it yeah, he'd get arm barred instantly. Theres a variation of this pass that my teacher showed me awhile back that actually works fairly well though, you kinda turn to the side and put a ton of weight into the choke and he is forced to open his guard or he'll have to tap. It's kinda a thing you'd have to see or feel to understand.
It will not work without strikes but you can do something similar. Instead of stikes put one of your legs close to his bottom and push his hips (with both hands) to the ground.

This is horrible and not even real bjj. Who teaches trying to choke someone while you're in their guard?
nitz0id 2 months ago
Well in a street fight, it is highly unlikely the opponent will ever utilize the close guard since most people have no idea about ground fighting.

There's no striking in jui jitsu... Remember, it means gentle art?

better watch out if he pulls you back into the guard, got you dead to rights in a triangle choke

Nice technique, but against a experiment grappler this smells: armbar. A fast neck crank as he gets up fast should do.
