  • quite good

  • @94470melissa merci...

  • a lil pinch/squeel after the opening riff would be cool... otherwise... very cool lordi/gwar-esque. i love it! 5 stars!! you did a fuckin stand-up metal worthy job, sir!!

  • vocals wrecked a great mix.

  • Good work dude..

  • mmm me don't like...sorry...sounds a bit dull...

  • @Renegadrian Yes I do agree. I even don't like my self this first version. I record 2 others versions since this first shot. One is darker and is posted on youtube, the other with far better vocals has not been post...

  • Vocals don't really batch and the tempo's a little too slow. Other then that, great cover

  • @sycosocialX did u check my second cover of this song? I do not like this one too.

  • this was sweet, but do i hear the drums for "one" by metallica a bit, or am i hearing stuff again?

  • @MrStarWarsNerd1 yes. you are right. Drums are almost the same. I had the same feeling after first listening... I did not pay attention while recording.

  • I like the arrangement, but the vocals sound like they hurt. Would have been better if sung in a more natural voice. It just sounds as if you are trying too hard. Like most of the darker metal out there it could benifit from a more relaxed vocal instead of being forced. from what I can get by this, your vocal style would be better served better by mimicking Phil Anselmo. King Diamond would be another guy to mimick for this song lol that would rock.

  • @JerkFaceVocals Thanks... You're right, with the vocals. It was my first shot of this song and I could not find the right vocals... I made 2 others versions of this song. One is more agressive with kind of growling vocals (with some training from my side) the other one is with clearer vocals like you suggested.

You can check them on facebook ("Rock to metal covers of pop songs" page)

  • i like the way you arranged the guitar riffs and melodies. Nicely done. The only thing I would adjust personally is the tone of the guitar... it's more of an older 'rock' tone versus a metal tone. Try it with some other FX and you might like what you find. Keep up the good work.

  • @jaysti72 Thanks! You are right my equipement is almost 20 years old (I do not want to change it because I like this warm sound as I do not play only metal) and so it sounds like in the 90's (marshall JMP1)...

But I made a new cover while tuning down the guitars, it sounds more metal (drop B tuning).

  • hmm your voice is good well done but i would just let micheal sing it and then scream his wooohoo's and what not

  • my sister doesn't like the singers voice. SHE IS AN IDIOT BUT LOVES A ''REAL'' MICHAEL JACKSON.

  • @robot5123 Yes I know, that's why I recorded again with new vocals.

  • your voice is awesome man

  • i really like this :) and no matter what people say, i like your voice too. i guess it needs some more practice, but its really not bad. id like this song with more like Halford voice than Mustaine though.

    thanks for sharing anyway! :)

  • @kokaiini §Thanks a lot. I know that it is not perfect. I just make this for fun when I have some free time. Did u check my other covers?

  • Fantastic musical arrangement but the vocals really are terrible. They were never the type meant for a song like this. But like I said, the music/instrumental part to the song is very good.

  • if it weren't for the youtube threatment, the instrumental would rock, but still, it seems to me that guitars could be a little heavier.keyboards are great. as for the vocals, death metal growls and grunts wouldn't suit this, its too low for us to understand what you would be trying to sing, despite that, you sound like a guy that's trying to reach dani filth's shrieks tone mixed w/ dave mustaine's singing voice. what you tried here, in case you don't know already, its called gothic metal \m/

  • @mudcradle yes in fact I found same kind vocals in Sirenia... For the guitars, if I increase the level it covers the drums. May be it can be a question of frequency of the guitars compared to the drums. Mixing is a real job!!!

  • @FrappaDingue26 i know, but i actually prefer precision while recording with instruments rather than mixing in computer, don't ask me why, it's just a preference. as for the instruments,i think you could try 1 step down tuning i think in guitars,it would make them more sonant and tune the drums for heavy metal(this case, gothic metal)so they don't cover each other and you could also think of a way to improve the vocals because you sound a bit a dani filth wanna be b4 4:20 and mustaine after that

  • Comment removed

  • @mudcradle Thanks for your interesting comments. I think I will try to record a new version taking care about your comments. Result in a few weeks...

I discovered Gothic metal 1 year ago (Whitin Temptation, Delain, Epica, Lacuna Coil...). I really like female voices in this style combine with more agressive male vocals...

  • @FrappaDingue26 oops, i accidentaly removed my previous comment ^^'', i also advise you to choose very well between gothic metal influences because bands like within temptation and epica aren't gothic metal, within temptation is actually atmosferic/symphonic rock and epica is symphonic metal, here are a list of bands you may not know entirely :cradle of filth, tristania, moonspell, theatre of tragedy and type O negative. im looking forward for your remake, i hope it turns out as good as this one\m/

  • sounds like your taking a shit!! but nice cover!!

  • it's such a shame that this is doesn't work, you should actually scream as has been suggested, and amp up that guitar as it is not hard enough

  • @marcusmelaney I don't like the kind of vocals suggested. All bands sounds equal and there is no way to keep melody in the vocals. I made this cover for myself and share it for some who like it. I know that the voice is unusual but it is exactly (or more or less) what I was looking for.

For the guitar (but also the drums), the sound is much affected by youtube treatment. It sounds much heavier and louder in original mp3.

  • @FrappaDingue26 could you send me the mp3? i'll mail you my email

  • @marcusmelaney Sorry I have been travelling for my work these past days. Of course I can send you the mp3 (it is 5,4 Mo)...

  • LOL!!

  • More like a Psychedelic cover than metal...

  • hey i like it but with the vocals stop trying to sound like you screaming/growling or w.e and just actually scream. im in a death metal band and thats the issue i see with a lot of newer people is they try to sound like there screaming while talking instead of just screaming

  • @nightmare0308

Yah.. I understand what you mean. I wanted to get a strange voice without screaming. It is quite close to what I wanted to get but I would need to practice to be able to control the result.

This was just a project I had in my mind and that I wanted to bring out for fun (and also to free my mind!!!)

  • After 4:20 and on, the dude sounds like Dave mustaine from megadeth. NICE JOB!

  • Thanks, it was my nickname 18 years ago (oups, I am so old?) when I was playing in a metal band....

  • @jasonkrockster lol he does dude

  • Zo verneuk je het hele nummer.

Van een masterlijk werk naar een opgeraapt zooitje.

    RIP.
