lack luster... no hit at the beginning to get the chart started... bass guitar is way too loud. this band just cant swing... the tempo is way too slow... the front cant play the style to save their lives and it sounds like nothing but flams and grace notes... epic fail!
@JessOnTheRun i'm pretty sure the reason we lacked luster was because not one of us liked this show.... and, no, we couldn't play jazz... we didn't have the right instrumentation or the right people... still, there's no reason to label that as an epic fail, thank you very much!!!!
Does this announcer really mispronounce like everyones name wrong? This guy really sucks that bad.... i remember laughing all through his presentation HAHA ;)
hehe, trust me, we hated it too. He was a horrible announcer, always spoke in a monotone voice that had just a hint of a horrible attempt to be dramatic, and he kept mispronouncing everybody's names. In fact, he mispronounced two of our three drum major's names, and I'm sure other bands didn't fare much better.
I hate it when then mispronounce names...in SC they announce officer names too...it's just sad sometimes...
They always get it right at state though :) So it gives us something to look forward to besides a shiny trophy! Band people like shiny things...instruments, trophy's, uniforms, officer pins, medals, things like that.
After actually taking the time to watch this a few members of your band should consider trying out for AT LEAST a top Division II corps...and one or two of the people on frontline should consider picking up 4 mallets and trying out.
Thanks for posting these Dan, I'd love to see more... pity there was no true coverage of the London New Years Day Parade.. searched for hours and found a 5 second clip blurry clip.. hope the band had a great time
Look at the tags...and no...there is no such thing as a proffesional one unless you talking about a military Drum and Bugle Corps...they are "non-profit organizations" that's why it costs about three grand for one summer...the food is still good though...and you get your own uniform...then there's the free travel...so yeah! AND NO WE DON'T DO IT FOR A FUCKING LIVING! RULES ARE THAT YOU HAVE TO BE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 14-22 ALMOST ALL OF US ARE IN HS OR COLLEGE!!!
lmao... you must feel threatened by a HS band to have this strong a reaction. lol wtg.. show us the Drum Corp attitude.. I'm sure you're proud of how you responded to a HS kid. yeah.. wtg. wooo for you
not only that, but you know, so many kids in HS look up to the DCI members. They would love to be a part of that. Then you come in showing your ass. Way to promote DCI. I'm sure your attitude will encourage many kids. thanks so much. omg lol tbh imho ftw
I wan't everybody to be able to participate in DCI who can. That is why I plan on becoming a Band Director. I am still in high school and I'm only a sophmore so I'm not much to look up to in the first place. And the reason I had such a strong reaction is because people think that there HAS to be some sort of monetary insentive for us to work that hard when the insentive is participating. And the roar you get from the crowd on finals night...
Excuse me, but I never said that our band was named after them. I said that we played music created by them. Of course we're not as good as them. They're a professional drum corp! They do this for a living! We're just a high school band that practices less than 8 hours a week and has freshmen who really couldn't give a crap about the whole thing. Still, who are you to judge?
I mostly posted the video for a school project anyway.
