Where you would go "Oh, I can't figure it out!" and friends would go "Oh. I know how to get past! In fact, there's something REALLY cool just after that, too!" (Generation 1/2 Pokemon is the ULTIMATE example of this!)

While i do like a good story ....the MGS storyline has WAAAAYYY ttoooo much fuckin ackstabing , doublecrosses , fucking bullcrap and conspiracys....i meanDEAR god its like when solid snake makes that next step with his foot . The patriots planned it , and when he makes the step after that...they fuckin planned it....dear god this series is convoluted to the point that only the fans cna follow it properly (maybe not i just really hate how much conspiracy is being shoved down here)

@Greatdictator its not THAT complex as everybody makes it out to be. The patriots are basically AIs. Almost the same AI as, say Skynet from The Terminator. Except instead of making Terminators, they mass produce Metal Gears/Gekkos and physically enhanced genes (nanomachines) for their soldiers. The Patriots, instead of trying to destroy and create a new world, work with the world to basically bring it under their control. That's the only conspiracy i can see in these games.

Phil ,the game has a tip system with vast scripting for advice on all situations. It not only details their weaknesses, but all their attacks and how to avoid them. It also provides hours of backstory, extra context to the bare minimum that the game actively provides to advance the plot, character interations, extensive logistical detail for the nerds, humour and other quirks.

It's called the Codec.

This game's story: You do something at first, then later you find out it was all a lie. Then, you find out that the lie was a lie, then that lie was a lie, and then at the end you find out that everything's been *scripted*. Bullshit, I know the thought process Kojima went with this one, it's call changing your mind about the idea/goal of the story throughout varying intervals. Not that there's anything wrong with this type of story telling, it's just that it gets annoying to follow at times.

... when I was 12 It took me 0 deaths and 3 mins figure out what to do in that fight on normal.

Also I'm pretty sure if you call otacon he'll give you advice on how to beat them 99% sure he says something along the lines of "shoot a stinger when the mouth is open" so that's pretty much hint enough for anyone if you can't figure it out through gameplay. Please keep this in mind for MGS 3, use your codec if you can't figure out a boss.

The Metal Gear series has an in game tip system that basically walks you through every single situation contextually.

It's called the codec. That phone thing you use throughout the whole game. That's how the fuck you'd know that, and shoot those things in their knees.
