What do you guys do to prevent cave-ins?

We make sure to incorporate fundamental structural practices in the build like arched ceilings, columns, and we try not to have too thick of a roof over our head but, to be honest, if we got any kind of earthquake action up there I don't know how that would turn out. As a footnote the snow was pretty packed that year and, as you can see in the video, diggers were practically chipping the stuff out.

Thanks for the comment. It's definitely a lot of fun. We'll be heading up to Sugar Bowl for Snow Cave 2009 (16th year) in March. If you're in the area you should stop by. I'm not exactly sure of the date yet but we should have it locked down pretty soon. Happy New Year. G-

Cool , well i live in england =( were lucky if we get 1cm of snow lol. but make sure you make another vid ! also make a huge ramp whilst your there i'd love to see some people flying on there boards . Hey David - Well I guess England is a bit out of the way. Oh well. We'll definitely get some more video up for the 2009 trip. We plan to document this year's trip thoroughly. I'm piecing together some footage from our 2007 trip and should have it up on youtube in a week or so. Now thats a snow cave. No body can build a cave like my crew and party as hard. Best three nights of the year. Looking foreward to 2009 for another great cave, skiing, jager and some good food. Great job filming Geoff.
