  • OphidianLord, I think they know that the B stands for British. They're huge metal fans themselves, I doubt they don't know what NWOBHM stands for.

    They imitate the sounds and create a throwback to the sound of NWOBHM. In the same way that they aren't in any way "new wave" they're not British. However, you could call them NWOBHM. I think they succeed in creating a Saxon/Maiden/Diamond Head sound. Which has become the archetypal "redular heavy metal" sound since then.
