Just had one of these for a rental in WA. My findings: steering was ok, the turning circle is hideous 42 FEET TO TURN AROUND!?!?! The interior quality was pathetic, cheap loose fitting plastic that scratched easily. The power sliding doors were nice, when they worked. With a little over 32K on the van, the power sliding powers would open halfway and get stuck. Powertrain: it strained to get into passing gear, and it shifted with a shudder. Do yourself a favor, get an Odyssey! This is junk!
The Volkswagen Routan is a great minivan for families who want great driving pleasure, versatility, performance, fuel efficiency, features, and all of those things. It has all the things that require a minivan not just being a minivan- but an extraordinary minivan. And it still starts at an estimated $25,000. It should be a strong player in the minivan market!
Not for me! I'm an Odyssey man until I see that junk underneath the hood pulled out and something german put in instead. Even then, it's still not as good as the Microbus concept. I love my aircooled Type II though!!
