  • Crysis 2 MAX on HD6870 and Phenom x6 MUST WATCH!

    /watch?v=b1LzFIKSrRA

  • really needed to hear it running in system.

  • @Tokolozi I have a 50inch hd plasma that I run my pc on at 1080p with a native rez of 1920 1080.. so will this card add more hd to my games?

  • whats the best card out now??

  • @joeinferno23 AMD radeon HD 6990 or the nVidea gtx 590

  • ทำมัยฟุ่มเฟือยอย่างนี้

  • i-l never have this :(

  • @amarandivyt LOL... this card is phased out in case you didn't know.

  • did anyone else lol at the beginning when he read the name of the video card twice?

  • is this one better than the HD 6870, im talking about the ICeq version only

  • @wmjs2andfriends

This 4870 is almost 3 years old now. I shouldn't need to say more.

  • My friend has this same card. It doesn't run that much cooler compared to my 4870, and it's much louder.

  • dam that video card is long

    about how much tho?

  • @FpsMerc Its a very outdated card, this review was done over 2 years ago. My guess would be around 150-250 US dollars. However you really shouldnt consider getting this unless you are looking for minimal graphics performance. If you are looking to play games, or do some major rendering you should consider the 5000 series.

  • i have this baby and i love it

it runs so cold , seriously it only goes up by like 15 degrees C when under max load

and the memory clock speed is 4ghz , with ddr5 memory , thats dam good

  • @LukeyBoyAUS: you're wrong and you know it. You're just saying that to get a reaction from someone. But in case you're not, let me lighthen something up for you. If your graphic card is 15c udner load. That means its very cold in the room you're sitting in. We're talking about a max room temperatur of 15c. Which I highly doubt you're sitting in. The program that monitor that temperatur of your graphic card, is very incorrect. In fact, its most likley the card is around 40c idle and 70c load.

  • @webdigo lol sry for the miss understanding i said it goes up by 15 , not it runs at 15, and yes you are spot on with those temps in your comment, 40c - 50c idle but under load max i have had is 65c. sry bout my poor sentence structure :S

  • @LukeyBoyAUS: No. In fact I thik you just made this post of yours, to get a reaction from someone. But if thats not the option, allow me to ligthen things up for you. If your graphic card is 15c under load, that means your room temperatur is MAX 16c. And I highly doubt you room temperatur is that low. The program which measure the temperatur of your graphic card is failing big time. Its more likley 35-40idle and 65-75 load.

  • Dude, 2x 6 pin PCI connectors? I wanted to run 2 of these babies in Xfire. No dice with that sort of power consumption! Who the shit tits designs this? I have an 880W PSU and it only has 2x 6pin PCI connectors (6 pin + 2pin). 2x 4850's or 1 4870? what should I do?

  • @stephenTcartwright buy some more 6pin to molex plugs

  • @stephenTcartwright

If you want 4870 crossfire performance then go with 5770 crossfire. The 5770 is just about equal to the 4870 with GPU performance and a single 5770 requires only one 6 pin connector instead of 2.

  • @stephenTcartwright it NEEDS that much power. It is equivallent to the gtx 260 and it performs very nice

  • hey 3dgameman, do you get to keep all the review items? do you buy them to review or given to you? :D

if given to you, i wanna buy something from you cheaper than retail shop~ :D

  • outdated

  • Does anyone know how I can get this thing to not idle at 70c? The case has great airflow, and if i throw in a GTX 275, it idles at 42c.

  • @a7x5631 Open up Catalyst Control Center and enable manual fan control. Usually 35%-40% speed is fine for me for non-gaming. I usually get around 50c or less. Kicking it up to 45%-50% while gaming brings it around 65-70c.

  • @a7x5631

Radeon 48xx series cards are hot. Its better for them to sit at a similar speed under idle and load. 60 to 70 degrees idling will only increase to about 80 to 90 under load. Its much better than flying from 30 degrees to 90 degrees.

Don't worry about your temps unless its over 110 degrees

  • i just bought this card through newegg

  • oh now i know

  • ati HD4870 and HIS HD 4870 IceQ 4+ Turbo are they the same on specs?

  • @welhim16 yes they are but the IceQ is running a but cooler

  • the original 4870 is 750mhz core and 900mhz mem

the turbo is 770core and 1000 mem

  • yeah but the iceQ suppose to be cooler and quite

  • HIS 4870 Turbo has higher clock Memory speed. it was i bit better than standard HD4870

  • are his tests on crysis high or very high?

  • can it handle a full 1080p 36 inch lcd?

i might jut buy it i will do a lot of video editing with blu ray and some light gaming please help.

  • @639426 Oh Hell yeah It will do 1080p 1920x1080 No problem. And its got a Gig of video memory So High res wont lag. But Nvidia Is gonna release some new cards soon and there gonna be bang'n So i would wait yo.

  • i have a Hd4670 )HIS)

i love his the vga run cool all the time

and i live in a hot place 39 c desktop

    45-50 ingame

  • @FELIPEPKPK VGA?

  • @robertkrosl

    vga? = graphics card

  • @FELIPEPKPK Ohh.

  • no it means : Video Graphics Accelerator

  • ı have ıt n:1

  • is it just me or..... why I feel that his voice is coming out from an electronic dictionary

  • Nice! I have an ATI HD 4850 1GB!

  • disgusting...

  • Hay you guys think a VF1000 would cool a HD 4870? I got 2 bad boys but they are to hot to handle.

  • i have vf1000 it will shave off 20+ degrees of your videocard

  • a... a 600w enought for 1 4870,for crossfire 700w

  • can i use only 1 6pin power connector the one that comes from the box?

  • there's no need for you to ask in the first place~ its very stupid~ all you had to do was try it out and see for yourself~ are you really dumb?

  • i was just asking, whats wrong with that? -_-"

  • okay, anyways, you cant only use 1 6pin connector~ the card needs 2 of it~ i believe it wont run if you connect only 1~

  • lol at 3:28. there's no possible way anyone can read all of that unless they pause it.

  • @Noojtxeeg that's why u pause it

  • It's called the HIS HD 4870 IceQ 4+ Turbo (Full HD 1080p) HDMI 1GB (256bit) GDDR5 Dual DL-DVI & TV (HDCP) PCIe (RoHS)

  • y do u need 2 bridges for crossfire? i find it wierd. sli only needs 1.

  • i only use 1 for xfire, don't think you need 2

  • I believe the second plug is for tri/quad fire.

  • you only need one, the card comes with 1 bridge so if u have 2 cards 2 bridge so why not just put it in there it wont hinder performance

  • who told you CF needs 2 bridges?

  • Quad crossfire does.

  • its called CFX~ not CF~ :D CF = ONLY 2 cards~

quad CF/CFX can also mean 2 cards of x2~ so end up, you need only 2 bridges~

  • COOL, i did buy it im using it now its so fast i never see one like it before all my games run 200-+ fps and the details in the games look like real its so cool, i well tell you one this thing:

    try it now!!! ;)

  • I just ordered this card on tuesday from newegg! Can't wait to get it, hoping it gets here on monday. :D

  • I am getting this card soon. it is the most powerfull card that can fit in my system, most powerfull 4870 because of how well cooled it is for great overclockability

  • Do you have to say the WHOLE name every time? Jesus, but nice review.

  • I know we know from other videos lol

  • 770 mhz vs 750 mhz what does that do

    what does uv reactive mean?

    glows in dark?

  • under uv neons it shines

  • UV reactive means if you get a UV light in your case that it will glow the color that it says it will.

the difference in MHZ is kinda like the speed of how fast things are processed. Thus why people overclock their PC's to make them go faster. such that it kills the parts faster, but it gives a little to a lot better performance. intel i7 920 CPU standard is 2.66ghz, it's usually OC to 4.2ghz ish.

  • oh i didnt know about uv

the difference in mhz i know, but the 20mhz wont do anything.

    Its essentially clock speed

  • sigh, do some research nub.

  • I JUST LOVE BLUE FIRE

  • That is a long name!

  • Who can CLEARLY see the difference between DX9 and DX10 on that video?! I was watching that part for over 5 minutes, and goddamn it I just cannot see ANY difference at all........ If DX11 will be like this, damn, screw everything, I'll just buy 7300GT and 15" LCD.

  • I'm really considering this card, anyone know of any cards in this price range that could be better?? Thanks.

  • try the 4890 vapor-x from sapphire..

  • which is better a 4890 or this ?

  • The 4890 is more powerful than the 4870 as it has a higher Clockspeed.

  • i meant to say it as for the little boost in performance is it worth it or do i overclock the 4870

  • Well the 4890 isn't much more expensive. If you can afford it get the 4890. Otherwise get a 4870. They are very powerful and you don't need to overclock them

  • and uses less power... (in wattage)

  • horse vagina

  • I <3 dongles.

  • Its not so good card, becose you saw hove much was that FPS on warhead ,low ,and Far cry 2 was on 60 ,but Warhead on 30 ,its low.

  • yeah with the resolutions he was testing it with no shit smartass

  • bullshit

  • Shut > Up

  • nVidia=ATI

ATi outperforms nVidia in some areas, nVidia outperforms ATi in some areas. No need to be a fanboy.

  • true.

  • @TheGeek1028

yeah...all manufacturer got their advantage but im prefer more cheaper one

    :)

  • @TheGeek1028 yup i usually just get what ever my budget can afford and what matches my motherboard best. both are good.

  • @TheGeek1028 nvidia good at crysis but ati suck at crysis...nvidia suck at far cry2 ati good at far cry 2!!!

  • @TheGeek1028 that is why i am going for Nvidia b/c it's just cheaper for the same performance.

  • @votin Not in all cases. The GTX 480 is about $400 to $450. (Just an example) The dual-GPU 5970 is $500. The GTX 480 *MOST* of the time is below the 5970. The GTX 580 is the same price or more expensive than the 5970 and isn't a whole lot better than the GTX 480. It'll depend on which card you plan to get on whether it'll be the same performance for cheaper.

  • 2 of these babies in crossfire are the best possible setup around in terms of performance for price. and to Aznrave your a fucking wanker. Im not a fanboy, but ATi are kicking the shit out of Nvidia at the moment, and until that changes anyone with half a brain would get ATi over Nvidia.

  • ATI RULLEZZZZZ nvidia!

  • is windows 7 directx 10?

  • Yep and it will have dx 11 when its released. Vista will too btw

  • ...ok thx

  • probably will be directX 11

  • ok... coz i have the RC version

  • Will this card work with :

    Intel Core 2 Quad 2,66 GHz Q9400

    AXP PowerSupply(Psu) 630W V. 2.20 SLI Ready

    4092 Gb ram

?? Help , Will this Card work with my stuff ? =)

  • Yes, make sure you have 64-bit OS, and i quess it's 4092 MB and not 4092 GB right? :P

  • You mean Vista ? Ooh srry haha 4092 gb lol.

But will it work without any problems ? good graphic and so.. ??

  • Yea good graphics, i don't mean Vista, There is a 64 bit version of XP, 32-bit can only use about 3.5 gb of your ram, with an 64-bit OS you can use everything ;)

  • Yes , Like vista ? Vista is a 64 bit version aiight ?

    ok thx.

  • 64bit Windows XP kinda sucks. Go with Vista 64 bit, and with this card it can perform excellent since Vista enables directx 10, and XP can only perform with directx9.0c

  • or you could wait and get windows 7 wich spports directX11.. vista suck's..

  • windows 7 is just as vista, but a nicer look, and it claims that it has better game performance, but I have to see it by myself

  • Im running the beta windows seven right now and its so much faster up front, meaning it give priority to the process that youre using at the time. I love it. Compared to vista it gave me a +10 fps increase.

  • yes definatly as long as u have 1 pciex16 slot

  • Looks very good!!

  • Im a fan of nvidia but this card looks good.

  • Me too...

  • DUDE, this guy is running a C2D E8400 at 4.3GHz!!! WTF i got one, the stock clock is 3.0GHz

  • is this card better? ROFL are u kidding me.. ati wipes the shit out of nvidia

  • is this card better than a 9800 GT 512 MB GDDR3 anyone ????

  • much better.

  • some one got to help me, i just got this card and it's extremely hot. it was 70 degrees when idle, but the fan only working with 35%. what's wrong with it? i've add 2 80mm fan in the back of my pc but it has only decreased to 68 when idle. anyone plz help :(

  • hmm.. Nope, nothing wrong with it.

  • could you just increase the speed of fan?

  • those vid cards run hot. you can get ati tool to set fan to 100%

  • What case do you have?

  • Look into downloading a program called Speedfan. Or Google some graphic card fan controllers, play around with speeds till it is at a reasonable temp.

  • I've never liked IceQ cooler, I don't like the design of this... :/ But Radeon 4870 is a very good card

  • is it better then radeon? i just got one.

  • ATi Radeon is the company ati radeon doesnt add a boost or anything ati is just short for ati radeon graphics cards HiS is one of the companys that made the 4870.. everything like the power of the 4870 and its rv chip are thought of by ati radeon which is part of amd but other companys make them and make clocks and stuff how they want err personally i think HIs is a very good quality company that has good heatsinks and good cooling and higher clocked cards than other companies

  • will this card work with AMD athlon 64 x2 6000+?

power supply: Northq Black Magic Flex 650W,Modular,80+

  • yes it defenetly will.

  • ROFL the cpu will have bottleknecked the 4870 in xfire. tests are crap lol. get coer i7 or intel core 2 quad cpu.

  • hey do you think i can run this card with a phenom 9600?

  • u could run a single 4870 with no problems. It's a decent CPU. Im not sure about those two cards in crossfire with that CPU though as i heard the older Phenoms are pretty shit. But if u would like to go with these in crossfire then i would probably do some more researc in order to get max performance. :)

  • what about a phenom II x3? plus what motherboard should i get? kinda on a budget:P

  • no offence to ur video's or anything by the way. was just a comment :)

  • it´s nice card :D its large :D i buy this card :D

  • I bet after 0:25 he was gasping for air LOL

  • what is the minimum poer suplly needed to power this vid card tnx

  • With your spelling i am surprised that you actually know what he's talking about.

  • 500w or better...

  • Comment removed

  • i have a question

will this card works when its crossfired with a Power supply of 700w??

do they also sale this card in 512Mb gddr5?

  • yes, they do have 512 mb gddr5 card! =)

  • A small mistake in this review, you say the auto adjustment of the fan gives you the best cooling possible.

This is not true, it is the best when you turn it on 100% constant :p That will probably make some noise though (well my GTX 285 is very noisy at 100%)

  • Does anyone how loud this thing gets, off hand?

  • i got this 1 and its not loud at all... to tell you the truth i cant tell the difference between the case fans and the vid card..

    hop that helped ...

    ps... this card rocks

  • Heya man, thanks a ton. Yeah it helps a lot. To be honest I'm building my second computer ever and I'm getting so confused on what card to get, so now I can finally sleep at night since I think I'll get this one--lol. Thanks a bunch again. :)

  • Fuck 18000 Marks! Mine 4870 only gives 13000!

  • u probably have a bad CPU which bottlenecks the GPU.

  • what about the sound level?

  • he says DDR likea pirate

  • ddarghh made me laugh

  • man this card is cool.. do eny body know if this card work with the asus striker Extreme 1?

  • I still like EVGA coolers look better.

  • i was drooling

  • will it work with an Intel Core2 Quad Q6600? Thanks!

  • yes

  • yes and i using it happily

  • I never played to buy any of these new cards that required you to connect your PSU up to it. I only deal with pci cards and pcie cards that does not require power connectors.

  • CrusaderU2K then u will end up with shit cards every time as all the good cards need extra power

  • Nope, i am just fine with cards that do not require power connectors. Games runs just fine. Perfect fps to me is 20-30, thats perfect. Even tho i get up to 60-200fps in some games.

  • I think i may be more attracted to graphics cards than the opposite sex.

And i mean, i am like, a giant pervert.

  • loool xDxD i agree

  • I'm sure there are tons of kids walking around with tons of money...

the good thing is their money supports the High-end business well, while they don't have any idea what their money spend for

  • hoo yea! thats my card!

  • Hi. i`m going to bay a new video card. now i have a 2600 XT and i wanna bay a 4670 IceQ Turbo 512MB GDDR3... is it worth it??

  • no , you can get better cards out there , of course depending on your budget

  • I dont want a high end video card but is this going to be any better? for playing GTA IV on low settings?

  • Which one is better ?

    -GeForce 9800GTX+ 1GB

    -HIS HD 4870IceQ4+ Turbo 1GB

  • the 4870

  • 4870 is much better

  • lol the 4870 is much much better, not even a contest

  • Funny, I bought this EXACT same card about 2 weeks ago before I saw this vid. I guess I did make a good choice. Now I just need to save a little more money to buy my second one ;D

  • Does anyone know if the ATI 4850 x2 will be faster than this HIS HD 4870 IceQ 4+ Turbo which is an upgrade from the regular 4870.

    Please experienced people.

  • 4850x2 is faster in games tht support crossfire. 4870 is much faster in ones that dont. 4850x2 might suffer from microstuttering but im really not too sure if it does. The 4870x2 wasnt too bad but not sure about 4850x2. you could probably save 50 quid more and get 2 4870 512mb versions in CF.
