I have to find it funny when people say "But the Marines weren't doing anything!". It's a commonly known fact that the US Marines were siding with the pro-Israeli elements (who made up a small minority of Lebanese) in Lebanon, and were funding/arming Lebanon's enemies. It was only natural that the US Marines would come under attack. Sad? Yes, for sure, but once again, this is a war area. No sympathy on occupiers.
