@selena5251 Unfortunately the ratings were so bad that they just cancelled the show when they had 2-3 more left to go for the season.It would have been nice if they just did 1 more to give it a good send-off but that's life.

It was canceled shortly before filming the 23rd episode of the season. Nobody knew this would be the last episode, therefore the producers and writers made no attempts to finalize the season on this episode to appeal to the audience as the last time we would see them. It was canceled, not ended.

@timppa600 i recognize that laughter too, it's used on other sitcoms as well. There isnt anything called live audience anymore i think, so sad... The whole thing is twice as epic when there is a live audience. I think i heard that laughter on According to Jim too!

@ddffghij Erm, I know laughter tracks have been used, but it's already been established that there were audiences for 8 Simple Rules. All except for "Goodbye". And there are still sitcoms recorded in front of audiences. You know there are people that get tickets to go to anything and everything.
