im a jazz musician and i never heard anything like this. dude is bad and so is the band. Everyone has good time, the solo had development, quotes, technique, went out and a little weird, but it was cool. then, the head out had a nice arrangement and tag. everyone in the band was listening to each other and taking their time. awesome. also I'm high.

Ok version. I have lived in TX for 35 yrs and never heard of him. More noise than technique. All you have to do is listen. No double shuffle. Too many flats. Ok for typical bar band. Never see him come close to placing in TX fiddle contest. But I have also heard a lot worse. Give em; enough longnecks and turn it up to distortions levels and he could tell them he was Oconner, Duncan, Aubrie Haynes, or anyone else.
All great fiddlers have their own version or take on this classic fiddle tune. Very seldom do you hear any two fiddlers play it the same way. Check out Mark O'Connors version. Elana James has a good spin on this song too.

The fiddle player actually broke a string playing, the crowd was going wild and they were so great hooting and clapping and cheering.
Sadly for such a great song this is not very good.
You know, I'm fairly new to You Tube, but if I can get my buddy Todd Porter and myself to play The Orange Blossom Special, it will absolutely blow everyone away! I play guitar and Todd plays the fiddle like no one else! The guy is awesome!! Now we just have to learn how to upload or download on You Tube. Thanks for the response. If you want to hear proper, 'hot' fiddle playing then check out the YouTube clip of 'The Country Sisters' doing 'Orange Blossom' and marvel at their hot fiddle player, Linda, doing this tune some justice . . and then some.
Not to take anything away from this guy because he does have some talent, but this is one of the worst renditions of Orange blossom that I've heard. Either his intonation is way off or his transducer sucks; regardless, the sound is off pitch most of the song. His bowing is not technically sound and he often gets off rhythm. That being said, this guy has the capability of being good if he slowed his speed down, worked on some fundamentals, and practiced keeping beat. Keep up the work!
