i remember this. its among the cartoons i watched when i was extremely young. dunno exactly what i saw in it i suppose being a kid any cartoon was entertaining. brings me back. i love rediscovering a memory lost for over 20 years.
@wulfiebear oh don't worry you weren't alone. I had a crush on her, as well as Brenda and Taffy from Captain Caveman (Especially Brenda considering she was one of two black girls in cartoons - Valerie from Josie and the Pussycats being the other). Somethin' about those mystery solvin' girls of the 70's.
I used to watched this back in the 80s . wow thanks !!!!! for all those old cartoon. now I can show my kids ,what I used to watched when I was a lil girl.
You'd think they would with all the fans out there but I think it's a money issue along with priority given to other tv shows and movies on their roster.
CBS had their own versions of Rita & Wendy along with Uncle Dudley sitting in for Mr. Fuddy. The cartoon was Dinky Dog, which was part of the Popeye Hour.
Frank Welker played Nugget Nose the ghost. Wendy and Rita were inspired by the "Laverne and Shirley" show. Hal Peary was funny as the voice of the dude ranch owner Mr. Fuddy...often unnerved by the Galloping Ghost haunting his property.
Reminds me of Stinky Pete from "Toy Story 2".

We did also 'Shmoo' in México, and the situation was identical than 'Galloping Ghost': we never had our credits on the screen at the end of episodes.

This series was made in Mexico for Hanna-Barbera. Our names never appeared in the credits at the end of each episode. Where is justice in USA?

I love how the song stops abruptly immediately after they mention the Galloping GHOOOOOOOOST, LOL!!!

I had to say I didn't care if she was a cartoon character, I had a crush on Wendy (the blonde) when I was a little boy

I swore I saw nugget nose in episode 2 of "Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated"
so I take it that the three friendly ghosts of HB are nugget nose, casper, and the funky phantom.

@Jadsia
the one two that can't be on DVD are "Jeannie" and "The Partridge Family 2200 AD" because Sony owns the shows they are based on...
however I still hope for PAC-MAN on DVD though.

I thought Galloping Ghost was part of Bufford Files, but not Yogi's Space Race.
caa1000 3 years ago
both segments were originally on yogi's space race and later repackaged into the buford and the galloping ghost show.
muttley16 3 years ago
Oh well! That explains the ABC repacking of their shows on Saturday Mornings!
caa1000 3 years ago
It was on NBC, not ABC.

NBC put this and The Buford Files as one show starting February 3, 1979.
ClassicTVFan82 3 years ago
Right, it was called The Buford Files/Galloping Ghost Show, the show it was first seen on, Yogi's Space Race, was cancelled a month later.

I remember that year too. Where the Galloping Ghost gang suddenly went from ranch handlers to Space Racers. That was a fun Saturday Morning ride. :)
