The food dish or treats is how to introduce whoa to a young dog. In order to get them used to a check cord they must wear it in the field always, if it bothers just use a lighter/shorter cord. Much of this pups success comes with the genetics its bred with and its temperament. You should not put pressure on a young dog, only guide them to success. Keep training sessions short and always leave them wanting more, their training must be fun not work.
I have a 12 Week old EB I have been doing whoa at the food dish with a little success curious how you started your whoa training and how you get the dogs so used to the check cord.
