I know you get a lot of ?'s, but I was hoping you could give me some advice. I want more than 1 large angel but don't have $600 to throw down on getting the ones that I want all at 1 time. Did you add yours all together or separately? Same question with the tangs? Thanks for posting all these videos, I love your tank and plan on configuring my 210 very similar! Thanks
I don't really know why, but marine angelfish don't really appeal to me. I mean, they have pretty colors and patterns, but I just seem to like freshwater angelfish more. Either way, beautiful fish and tank. :)
Wow I didn't even relize the first time i saw this video, that scribble of your is a female and the yellow line on its back is actually all the way to its head!!! RARE!!!
@ooow3n That scribbled was a fantastic fish. Didn't know about the yellow band being rare. Grew to a good 8 inches. Got rid of it cos it was a female. And it's taken me a couple of years to find a XL male scribbled replacement. Thanks
@johnroavideos 72 gallons is a bit small. But seriously I think fish like being around other fish. when I keep 2 angelfish, they are nervous, jumpy, shy, skittish and often hide. If I keep 10 they are all happy swimming around.
Many many people hous elarge angels together. I have a 500 gallon getting set up and I will have just as many. They will their issues but will kept fat and happy problems shouldnt arise
Flagfins are a bit sensitive. Suited to a more peaceful environment, with optimum water quality. They can be tricky to maintain long term in such a tank.
is flagfin very sensitive to water temperature? high nitrate, nitrite and ammonia levels? good thing it is already feeding when you got it.. i really like to have one..
Yeah, it seems more sensitive to these parameters and medication than other angelfish such as the Blueline or Goldflake. But if your stocking is lower and you have good water quality then Flagfin is OK.
nice tank!! is your flagfin angelfish already feeding?? if it is, how did you train it to eat? because i have read in some websites that flagfin is difficult to keep.. i am planning to buy one..
Yes, was feeding when i bought it. It eats everything...frozen stuff, flakes, seaweed. But its a temperamental fish which can suddenly stop eating. I have since removed mine (check my update vid). I have kept 2 flagfins (1small 1Large) and I would rate it as a difficult fish, because it needs consistent excellent water quality. If your water quality is good its easier to keep. I have never found feeding to be a problem with these specimens.
Thanks. And yeah nitrate is now my biggest challenge. Doing frequent water changes/maintenance. Rowaphos dealing with the phosphate. Just put up an update video, so check that out.
please!!! can u answer these questions? 1.what type of filter set up ?2. what is your acclimation process?3.what was your method when adding all the different angels ?4. Did you quarantine each one? 5.how long total have this group been together?6 have you had any problem with ich and if you did how did you deal with it? (((( not trying to bombard u with so many questions ,But what you did with all those angels in one 150 g tank is incredible! & wow!
Thanks. 1) 2xEheim 2080 External with Seachem Matrix, Rena BioChem Stars and Eheim Substrat Pro Media. Deltec MCE600 Skimmer. 2) No special acclimation process, usual 20 mins. 3) I added the biggest first and smallest last. Usually 2 per time. 4) No quarantine. 5) 3 Months. 6) Yes, Cupramine was used throughout stocking phase.
thanks for your response! when u bought your more expensive angels did u observe them doing well in the fish store?or did u order them and right out of the bag into your tank? 2. do u have any kind of problems with all of those angels that concern u?3. what do you feed them?4. ever have ammonia ,ph,nitrate issues? 5.how long has this tank been running? thanks!
1) Ordered all fish as I wanted. Then collected from LFS. Although Blueline and Scribbled came straight from TMC. I trust my dealer to pick me good feeding and healthy specimens from the local TMC. 2) Bullying, Disease, Feeding well, are my concerns. 3) New Era flakes, dry seaweed, frozen mysis, brineshrimp are main foods. 4) nitrate issues. 5) 6 months.
a man! thanks . i was very interested in your daring accomplishment. .most would not even think about putting so many beautiful angel fish together. also thanks for expressing your challenges, concerns and methods. it shows that besides your display of this awesome show tank ,your also a real life hobbyist . this video encouraged me do what i felt could be done on a smaller level so far i have had success with a half back and baby blue angel.next 2 add a flame & flagfin .75 g thanks!

I love that goldflake angel. What size tank is that? Looks almost big enough for all those fish, but not near as bad as 75% of the tanks on youtube.

Nice Aquarium and i have a question for you, is one wrasse enough to keep away parasites?
I have my tank with four angelfish and they always chase each other, maybe because my tank is 72 gallons

i guess you can put many angelfish in one tank. never trust those fish experts.they told me they kill eachother.

Agreed. We should send this video to WetWeb and see if that Anthony guy starts his flaming attacks :)
Some people just dont believe there are fish other than flame angels that can thrive in captivity.

cool, i've just added a flame myself. Caution with the flagfin, it is one of the most challenging fish in the longer term.

is it important to keep an eye on magnesium and calcium?

For my tank, I don't check for these parameters. So I couldn't even tell you the levels. Its not important because I do not have corals.
