@lulzyhorn - it's a good drive - I've done it many times since - and I'm sure I'll be doing it again sometime soon since my music partner is in Nashville and I'm back here in California. I recommend a stop in Flagstaff - a very cool town, and Amarillo - since that's the halfway point pretty much. Enjoy and good luck in Nashville - be careful though - it can be a dangerous town.
I made my move to Oregon and am a CA native. 8 years in red neck country has taken its toll. I would rather live in a small motor home near a beach and forest with my 2 dogs and parrot in No. Cal than live in a place where people dislike you for writing your opinions and wrote a letter to the editor saying, "HIt The Road, Jack". They didn't find this amusing.

@gerrygermoney Good comment! I too have traveled as you have and lived in a remote village with a Colombian family for 2 years and then another 6 months in Barranquilla. I devoted my life to help make people's lives better. Now, I'm living in a town that relies on one event for a week of debauchery that is based on the 1900s and it is not preparing our populace for the future. Sorry, You're right. I was rude and deserve to be run out of town.
@jerryjcronin Thanks a lot for your distinguished reply! I got you! As I did enjoy a lot of help from others I always try to pay back! But many people refuse to open their minds! No prob - I leave them on their own! Right now I live in a hood where I'm surounded by remote controlled meat bundles! No prob - I'll kiss them goodbye soon, assuring that I'll miss them! Maybe, that community doesn't deserve a person as nice as you! BTW Justine Bennett is fab! Have a great time! Gerry S.
It has been 9 months since moving out of Cali. Ended up in North Carolina, absolutely love it here. Rich beautiful, awesome natural surroundings. Southern hospitality and good mexican food ( surpise on that one). No traffic, no smog and North Carolina beaches are beautiful. Cost of living is squat compared to Cali. Found my house on Craigslist. My personal problems are still mine can't move away from them, but I am very happy to be living in a much better state.
@threeicys - there are things I miss about being in Nashville - the overall lower cost of everything is definitely one thing - the lack of diversity and good food is another thing completely - not to mention the music scene which really was so uninspiring. I know California isn't the best, and I don't know if I'll stay here, but I'm happy to be out of Nashville - although I do like visiting there - and I'll be back in September for some shows...
Hate to say it, but it in my experience only takes a few years before you want to go back home to Cali - only you find you're completely priced out and can't afford to go back. Great song, though!
@lisaliselv - well I only lasted a year in Nashville. I'm back in California trying to get settled again. It's hard being away from the ocean and good Mexican food
I'm doing this exact move

I should mind my own business, but thinking about your comment made me ask myself:
did he/she use the appropriate terminlogy,
showing his/her counterpart that he/she respects him/her as a human being,
or did he/she express him-/herself, just as common nowadays!
I've been in a lot of countries, the world over, but hardly had any negative experiences, even with the most backwarded people!
I X my fingers, that there'll be more pleasantry in your future live!
Greetz!

I am a Cali native - in two months I am saying goodbye to the home I have always known.
We are making a roadtrip out of our move back east. Intertate Hwy 40 and 6 states.
Why am I moving? The list is long...
I will be taking many, many good memories with me and leaving the bad ones behind.
Hope you like Tennessee.

I'm so jealous, lucky you! I've been stuck in Las Vegas for over 11 years and am dying to go home...
