  • @MelvinKB Indeed.

  • @PoopTruffles What is that from?

  • @PicturesOfMyButt boondocks

  • These R The Only Good band anywhere, where did good music go. The Tribe Is Beast

  • Where are these guys now?

  • a tribe called quest is my favorite band and lil wayne is my favorite rapper.what people gotta understand is music is about progression.when a tribe first came out they were totally different from the people like sugar hill game and kurtis blow and run dmc.thats whats so great about hiphop.people can say what they want about lil wayne but when you can be hot and be considered the best for almost ten years, you gotta be talented.lil wayne doesnt suck, if you think he does YOU GOTTA RESPECT IT

  • @DreadHeadJerk ATCQ aint no band, THEYRE the real rappers man. If you think lil wayne is a "rapper", then you are extremly mistaken. Wanna know why lil wayne has been "hot" for ten years? His dad is fuckin bird man! He was always rich and part of the media. He doesnt know about half the shit he "raps" about. Talkin about how he got love for the hood n shit. I doubt he's even drove through the hood, or listened to real hiphop. So no, i dont have respect for him cuz he didnt do anything to earn it

  • @DreadHeadJerk In other words, he had everything handed to him on a golden platter.

  • Is it Delasoul at 0:21 ?

  • 16 people can't kick it ... !!

  • i miss the days when its wasn't about money, cars, and women but the love and joy you got from hip hop

  • I love this song! But that guy sounds British when he says "Uh, you can?" Am I the only person who notices that?

  • Fuck man, makes me want to cry... shit was so simple back then. They didnt need to rap about no drugs, no murders, no bitches or money. They didnt put on no front to seem like was hard and shit. They just made fuckin music man. Shit was innocent. How could people get tired of this shit and start makin people like T pain and Lil Wayne rich and famous and fuck!?!?! R.I.P to the music of the late 80's early 90's. Thumbs up if ya still kickin it.

  • @blahuffo1 total agree there man! point of the century! What happened?!

    Still kickin it, UK ;)

  • @blahuffo1 I agree with you man . I'm 15 and I just missed this type of shit, but I still jam to TCQ, Pharcyde, Biggie, Big L, and 2Pac . But I'd have to disagree when you bring up T-Pain and Lil Wayne, of all the rappers, T-Pain & Lil Wayne are the most talented, say like Waka & Gucci Mane . Lil Wayne has been rapping since 93' but when Hip-Hop changed he had to change too, you can't blame the player, blame the game . Other than that, I agree bro . 90's for life maaan .

  • @CeegeTheKid Well, no offense, but when you grow up with REAL music, you can see right through all these modern rappers and how fake they are., Lil waynes old shit was aight, but he was always kind of new school. He didnt change WITH the rap game, he helped change it himself. And how are they talented? Auto tone and dumb lyrics? I'm sorry but if you call nowdays music hiphop, you dont got a clue of what hip hop is.Im not saying its bad music (even though it kinda is)But you cant call it hip hop.

  • @blahuffo1 Well I'm saying T-Pain because he is a unique artist . T-Pain can really sing if he wanted to, but everyone can sing, so he changed it up and did auto tune like noone else could, not only that, but unlike most hip hop artists, he can play instruments . T-Pain is only making things better . Lil Wayne isn't as talented, but he basically made analogies a big part of hip hop, and I give him rep for that . Most of other mainstream artists are awful .

  • @CeegeTheKid And thats cool that your a modern day kid and you like ol school shit, but still, about 99% of nowdays shit sucks. You just gotta be able to tell the diffrence between the fake and the real. gucci has some sick shit, but thats about it. Nowdays no one really needs talent to make it in music. Cuz you got 10 people writing shit for you and autotuning you out. It doesnt take skill.

  • @blahuffo1 And I agree with you forsure, Hip hop isn't what it was . But you gotta think, people will crave new shit, new flows, and new artists, if it stays the same people will get bored of it . So you have to change the music . You can only blame the music industry . T-Pain does most of his own shit, Lil Wayne doesn't forsure, but neither of them are horrible artists . But it definetly doesn't take talent nowadays . Anybody can be on MTV if they tried .

  • @CeegeTheKid True, but i was there for it all. And I can honestly say it wasnt the people craving new shit that changed the game, cuz this shit was hot back then. It was all the younger, richer artists who were trying to find something new and diffrent while still keeping the hiphop name. So in a way, yes it was the industry, but mostly the younger, wealthier rappers trying to bring a new style in because they were from the suburbs and shit, and they didnt fit in with the original hiphop culture

  • @CeegeTheKid What im trying to say is that todays music isnt necesarily BAD. Its just not hiphop. Thats the only problem i have with it. They transformed it to the point where the lyrics make no sense whatsoever, if they do,its all about money, drugs, bitches, and cars. And the beats arnt even hiphop anymore, its turned into "pop-hop". If they called it that, i would have no problem with it. Cuz it gives hiphop a bad name. If your not gonna make hiphop, then just leave it be.Respect the ol'school

  • @blahuffo1 Totally agreed . Hip-Hop is a smooth, mellow beat that you can chill to, and dance to at the same time . Hip-Hop is something people should be able to relate to . And that's not what Hip-Hop is now . Rappers only talk about their wealth . And people only listen because of their image . Bring back the rappers that grew up living on the streets, the ones that had to fight to get where they were, the ones that make music for the pure pleasure .

  • @CeegeTheKid F-sho, f-sho.

  • Comment removed

  • @inmotion86 Ignorant. You got it all wrong. White people didnt commercialize it. They were simply starting to contribute to hip hop as soon as it started goin down hill. That just gave em a chance to do their thing because hip hop lowered its standards. And what white rappers do you know besides eminem? Cuz if your sayin he helped commercialize it then you obviously dont know him that well. He did shit with biggie, pac, ice cube, all them folks that were highly respectable in the rap game.

  • @blahuffo1 Not really, those were always present in hip hop. Especially in the late 80's and early 90's, when gangsta rap became big.

  • @BeliefsAndObsessions Obviously you dont listen to hip hop much, or even this song for that matter, cuz no. They didnt. All that shit came into picture in like 93' 94'.

  • @blahuffo1 Ha, yeah okay guy. I don't listen to hip hop much, when you are the one bitchin' about today's hip hop. When in fact there is a lot of great artist that have been coming out in the past 10 - 15 years, it's not my fault you're not capable of finding music on your own. And no, that did not "come into the picture" in 93. Ever heard of Ice T or Too Short? They were rappin' about that shit in the mid 80's. And of course NWA's release in 88'. Nice try, no hard feeling though.

  • @BeliefsAndObsessions Look at you, tough guy on the internet. Im sayin that fake ass hip hop wannabees came into the picture around 93' ignorant fuck. If you think that any of these pop stars nowdays like lilwayne are real, or for that matter even hip hop, thats your fuckin opinion bro.

  • @BeliefsAndObsessions true that, different lives diff stories.

  • @blahuffo1 Except that... like... the alternative, pro-black, movement of the 90s was a direct response to gangsta rap of the 80s and hardcore of the 90s...

  • @blahuffo1 Calling me ignorant, that's funny man. Saying hip hop was "simple" and "innocent," shows how much you know about hip hop. Plus I never expressed how I felt about Lil Wayne and whoever else, so you wouldn't know what my opinion is. Just because I'm calling you out, doesn't mean you should get so damn defensive. You have the internet, if you're so sick of mainstream hip hop/rap go fucking find some lesser known artists. It ain't that hard, now stop crying.

  • the 90s...best hip hop

  • Check out my remix to this song. It's about a girl I like!!

  • why cant videos be like this?

  • hello im a 13 year old from indiana and love the old and new shit. no matter if its rap, rock, or wat ev, i listen to metallica megadeth, ATCQ, de la soul, biz markie, NWA and other stuff. put that in your fruit salad and eat it.

  • @trymei dont listen to biz markie. u dont know real hip hop. im 15 and i listen to tupac, ice cube, old snoop, basically westcoast.

  • @djwilliams310 Biz Markie is amazing. I'm 15 too but you just seem like the typical nerd who says "OH I KNOW REAL HIP HOP" but only name Tupac, Biggie and any other rapper from the 90's that ANYONE could name. YOU don't know real hip hop.

  • @RandomRandies ha fag. i only listen to... hmmm almost every west coast rapper. almost. but yea u jusn kno about mob deep n such. the gay people...

  • @djwilliams310

Plenty of good west coast hip hop groups.....Hiero crew, tha liks, the nonce, king t, obvioulsy nwa, snoop, ice cube, digital underground, too short, the coup, ice t, dialated peoples, ras kass, 2pac, the pharcyde, tone loc, above the law, cmw, and cypress hill to name a few. I'm sure there are a ton more that I'm forgetting......Don't matter what coast you claim, only if you have skills or not

  • a tribe called quest, lords of the underground. fuck yes. that is all.

  • RAP NOTHING LIKE IT USED TO BE. NOW YOU LOOK AT VIDEOS THEY OUTFITS AND JEWERLY COST AS MUCH AS THE MAKING THE VIDEO. THIS IS WHAT IT WAS ABOUT MAKING MUSIC.

  • this shit is crazy, EVERY classic video has a top comment about Lil Wayne and how much he sucks haha

  • @fjahmad100 your not really helping dipshit

  • @AwkWorldsWord don't call me a dipshit .You dont even know who I am. I could be in a wheelchair or just getting back from feeding the homeless at the soup kitchen :) Happy holidays. Watch who you callin a "dipshit", that's ignorant.

  • @fjahmad100 it would be better if we didnt mention him at all

  • @JorgeHernandezVids1 well im a fan of his, and it took me about 293847219749823 times of seeing it to have to say something, cuz obviously I love the classic style of hip-hop and I don't understand the relevence of Lil Wayne to A Tribe Called Quest. So maybe I helped the cause...happy holidays nigga

  • @fjahmad100 thanks im not sure if u were trying to diss me idk igaf happy holidays man or cracker or nigga or beaner idk

  • @fjahmad100 You're one of them ;)

  • @fjahmad100 I guess he became a symbol of how shitty things are, but 50 cent was the final nail in the coffin imo.

  • I love how they could rap and be stylish while being dressed formal life office employees with their shirts all buttoned and tucked in their pants. It was and honest back then, no gimmicks.

  • Can I kick Lil Wayne and Kayne West?? I wish I could. A Tribe Called Quest are real fuckin legends of hip hop. I grew up listening to them since I was a kid. Thank God I come from a good generation 1981 baby!! All the 80's babies raise your hands up and lets make a toast. The 90's babies need to learn from the old skoolers. This was real good underground hip hop. Now today hip hop is to mainstream ewwwwwwww. Hip Hop today you can say its pop and electro. Hip Hop in 10 yrs?? DEAD.

  • @tonebeatz24 You just got to find the good ones, check out Mac Miller or Johnny Polygon both new to the scene and really talented. But there are a lot of bad ones I will agree with that. But hip hop will never die rest assured.

  • top comments are the same. how original

  • I like this better than lou reed!

  • WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO HIPHOP?!?

  • @Fredwardoallday If u are talking about those fake ass mtv rappers than who gives a fuck. Good hip hop is still out there my friend. If u like the old skool shit look for it its out there.

  • @Fredwardoallday Today hip hop is more marketing than just real music. Today the hip hop game has changed. Now today rappers just want to make that paper. They don't care how it sounds. They just want to sell. As long as teens buy it thats all they care about is making that money.

  • @tonebeatz24 i know...

  • @Fredwardoallday lil wayne

  • @Fredwardoallday like common sense said i miss h.e.r

  • @Fredwardoallday Talent was just lost and the people who makes the music are just people who sold their soul, not talented artists.

  • @Fredwardoallday It became corporatized big time and rappers and producers became super lazy. Shit like Lil Wayne, the Black Eyed Peas and the majority of who is in the mainstream are just quick money makers who are concerned with making money off of lame singles instead of being artists crafting a valuable and timeless album. I want to buy a real album, not an iTunes single!

  • @MexicanoINC The sad thing is that black eyed peas were actually pretty good when they started.. now I hear them and I'm like the fuck happened?

  • @Fredwardoallday auto tune made it possible for anyone who has fucking twenty dollars to make it

  • @Fredwardoallday

NOTHING, nothing happened to hip hop except that It isn't the MOST HIP thing to listen to, a lot of people are listenin to the new shit because they think its cool, and because their trendy, but if you really want to be legit then you'll listen to hip hop because you know its the good shit.

  • @MOHtier1FTW mad ghey brah

  • @Fredwardoallday hip hop has gone black and yellow. that's what happened.

  • Clover brought me here.

  • Lou Reed

  • love sk8in to this jam

  • who ever talked at 1:48 sounds like a downie

  • what's with the lil wayne obession some of you have? holy shit, get off the guys dick....even if you dont like him, some of you are on his dick 24/7

  • i like this remix better than the original, especially the chorus break part

  • god damn there showing chesticles on the suggestions list

  • Whats up with all the nudity in the suggestions? Cary byrons ass and a breast massage video -_-

  • Late 80s to through mid 90s is the best hip hop has been and probably will be

  • respect, old skul ruulz

  • this song make me wish i had time machine coz these were the days....sigh

  • I didn't know this version, she rocks !

  • A FUCKING CLASSIC

  • 11 fucking suckers

  • my conversation with lil wayne

Lil Waine: can i kick it

    me:No you can't

  • pure old school at its best

  • @ubergoddaveyboy REAL not old school.

  • @HARCORENAPIERPARKOUR kill lil wyanye, i hate him

  • What I really love about old school hip hop is that it's not about how fast you can rap or how many cars,"hos" or money you have. It's about creating incredible beats and raps that flow and have meaning. Oh and I also love how they usually would use jazz instruments in their music. Now everything is just auto-tuned and awful.

    LONG LIVE OLD SCHOOOL!!!

  • theres a brilliant book with Tribe,

and the other legends documentin the

    artform, check:it out at ..

    ,.howtorapbook.,com
