Mr. Tim Thompson, You are one of the Greatest Guitarists i have heard for this type of Virtuosity that you do = The Guitar sounds like a BAND and it is UNIQUELY YOU and it is very IMPRESSIVE even to Classical Guitar fanatic like 'yours truly' following the footsteps of Andres Segovia, Julian Bkeam, John Williams and other Great Classical Players.
Do you have a music transcription of these wonderful arrangement in 'standard music notation for classical guitar for purchase? ...
Great interpetation...yeah there are "traditionalists" point of view ( I read some of the comments--they made me laugh), but "they" don't get it. Sounded "JOYOUS" and a great one for the season.
Is that your own arrangement? It's wonderful! Sounds so nice o the hollowbody, thank you for posting this, it is my favorite Christmas song and I was just looking for one to copy and learn along for the holidays on my nylon string, I think I'll stick with one guy who plays a much easier arrangement on nylon.
Really impressive from a guitar playing point of view, but like most of you guys that do this, you forgot one thing..... THE SONG! It kinda got lost. Why don't you just do a video of impressive guitar stunts, and forget trying to do music. I know - you don't understand. It shows friend.
First, thank you for including me with others that do this so I don't feel alone.
Second, I'm sure you feel better now!
Third, you're the one who doesn't get it. It's an interpretation of a song. I'm not going to stop doing what I do just because you hate it. At the point in the video where you decided you didn't like what I was doing, you could have shut it off and moved on BUT you obviously don't feel good about yourself and felt the need boost your ego by insulting me!
@timthompsonguitar Just being critical. Put your stuff on YOUTUBE and expect it. ON THE OTHER HAND you might take those criticisims and possibly learn something.
@timthompsonguitar Not bitter, but I'll admit to the critical. Looks as if I did push a button, and I suppose that was my intention all along. Keep doing what you're doing. In the large scheme of things, I'm just a guy who hopefully made you think a little bit. You really are a good player, even though I just didn't care for what you did to the song. You're making like what I think matters, and it shouldn't to you.
Beautiful Playing and beautiful sound too Tim. I have a question. I was curious as to ask you if you have tried for a live solo sound either the Bose compact system or the Fishman Solo Amp and what you think of them for a small venue or cafe type performance. or what your advice is. Thanks for sharing your music and your tips Bill
Thanks for your nice comments! I've not used the Bose. I have used the Fishman. I think for a small setting they work great, like house concerts or a small club, and I mean small. It the place gets too big, they start to sound thin. That's my two cents. Take care!
Thank your for sticking up for me! But no need. I'm glad I look happy. Also, your comment "Brillian version my man!" is very meaningful. As a player, I want to make a connection with people who take the time to listen. You are the man!!
but then 4 years for clarinet isn't THAT long. Most of my friends back in high school had played for about 7-9 years, and only few of them are really good.
Well now Tim, every time I think I'm getting pretty good on the guitar, I hear someone like you and it makes me realize I can't play the guitar. You make it look so easy.
@timthompsonguitar Hey Tim, that was a great version. I would like to see if ddanze can do any better, I doubt he can. Being a lead guitar player for many years, I can only wish I could play this style of music, but I really do appreciate the talent and time put in this arrangement.
You are flippin' awesome. Would you happen to have this tabbed out you could send me? Or some kind of tutorial on how you play it? Also, is this standard tuning? Thanks!!
Amazing! Greatly played, I love how ppl can skillfully synchronize the lower strings as a counter-melody with the higher strings for the melody! Truly talented!
I've never heard arrangements like yours. There is beauty in the traditional song of course, but maintained that beauty and given it a different life. Your playing is awesome! Your guitar songs great! I wish you great success and abundance in the coming year...you're a joy to listen to! Blessings to you...
It looks like that title change really worked. 700+ views in a little over a week! Glad to see your videos are starting to get the exposure they deserve.Happy Holidays!!!
