Love this record. It's funny how a lot of people seem to be totally appalled by it or seem really shocked or surprised in regards to how "different" it sounds from his other material..You'd think any REAL R.A. fan would know this isn't really at all that surprising given his extreme passion for Punk & Metal. So in other words it's just another side of mr Adams, which is yet another thing I really love about this guy. And I as well love Punk/Metal so this for me is quite a treat...
@ktrfeb23 "Pussy shit" huh? ah I remember being a teenager :) I mean shit why don't we as well get into the ever so redundant & trite "this band is better than that band" argument while we're having this irrelevant exchange? But to answer your question, yes I grew up on 80's Thrash & Hardcore which I'm sure also qualifies as "Pussy shit" in your book no? I guess I'll never really achieve total heaviosity.. Hey man all the best to you.. Love Sgt Hulka...
Take it easy, my friend. I was just fucking with you because you sounded so earnest and serious and so put off that anyone wouldn't like Orion...as if it matters. When I read something like that I know that it'll be pretty easy to get somebody going.
Ryan Adams is ok, but he can't do metal. This is pretty lightweight stuff.
@ktrfeb23 Well that's an interesting assessment of my post :) You might wanna read it again. There wasn't any mention of me having ANY opinion on anyone "liking or not liking" Orion. Clearly my point was nothing more than a brief observation on how I found it nothing more than "funny" that R.A. fans would be shocked by him creating music other than his usual "Alt-Country" material. Nothing more nothing less. And whether or not it's light weight, heavy weight or pussy shit is irrelevant.
@ktrfeb23 Oh and by the way.. it's all cool my friend.. I'm completely at ease and far from being up and arms about all this.. Just simply making a point .. Take care..
You don't sound it. You sound more worked up than ever. If you were cool with it you wouldn't have responded the first time...or the second time...or the third time...or the fourth time...

This new album sounds like Nirvana's Bleach or Insecticide Albums. Not so sure this is his forte...Kurt Cobain did it much better..but got to give him credit for totally changing it up..
@SecretTrip I was lucky to order the vinyl version coz of been registered with Ryan's site...it'll also come with a code for digital download! Give it a week or so and ya should be able to download it in your usual places! I hope!!! Rock on!

No offense man, but I dont think I'd buy it and I own everything RA has put out and a lot of stuff he never has. I enjoyed RnR even though I dont listen to it much anymore, but this just isnt my style - even if it is by my favorite artist. Best of Luck.
Even though this is pretty different from the other stuff you've been doin' lately (except "Rock 'N' Roll, maybe) I am really psyched for the new album. BTW: Is this going as a "Werewolph"-record or a "Ryan Adams-solo"-record???
I want him to come to London to play his old stufff!! :D I would be right three, font row

Who's Francis? I think you responded to the wrong person. Good name though...Frank Sinatra, FDR, Francis Ford Coppola, F. Scott Fitzgerald...etc.
By the way, did you ever listen to any real metal. It's pretty badass...that's how you can tell it from this pussy shit.

It's not heavy metal remotely. Sounds good though.
cleekfilms 1 year ago
it's not really 'Heavy Metal' as such. Just sounds like it could be off Rock n Roll to me...
