@redtail5 When penitentiaries are privately owned there is an opportunity to profit off incarcerating people. Kinda makes you question why the 'war on drugs' really exists - is it just another reason to jail people and make a quick buck?
@zipdoa the war on drugs benefits the government on a grand scale, departments seize property (Unconstutional) and in turn sell said goods for a profit, now it is ridiculous as obviously we spend far, far more than we take in, but locally that is no percieved nor known. It also takes away rights and gives more power, which every government ultimately wants.
thats definatly a good song for him considering!............i am his cousin he was quite the inspiration to my biking world i wish he was still around to give me a few more pionters.
saw the story on the fifth estate. i realized he was dead so the whole time i was expecting his helicopter was gonna crash, but then came the twist ending.
Yeah... the Rolling Stone article inspired me to look up videos with Sam Brown in them. I didn't find any under his name, so I looked for "Deconstructed Wheel". What a crazy name btw.
Too bad the "dudes" Sam was supposed to meet in the National Park near Spokane snitched him out when they got pinched with the 83 kilos of cocaine they were gonna be trading for Sam's shipment of BC Bud..
yea, it said the narcs were sitting in the car, and it was freezing and snowing, low clouds. supposedly they said to the captured guys: "Ah, he ain't coming" and they were like, "you don't know this guy, he'll be here, he can fly in anything".
so, they waited, and out of the mist came Sam. unreal
These extreme bikers are simply amazing. What a shame that Sam will not be here to further the sport even more. The RS article was well written and heartbreaking. RIP brother. May your legacy live on and your sport make it to the xgames one day. If ever there were an extreme sport....Makes skate and bmx seem like childs play.
@chefbigham haha, okay.makes skate and bmx seem like childs play...youre kidding me right?all extreme sports are nuts, freeride is just one of them and is equally legit.
I just got done reading the R.S. story on this guy and I gotta say it was a really sad story. It just goes to show what can happen when you get caught up in that lifestyle. Sooner or later we all get busted and it's when you least expect it. I would really like to know why he chose to take his own life. From what I read he just didn't seem like the type of person to do such a thing.
And now Sam's dead because of the government's disapproval of a fucking plant.
Thanks, DEA, et.al. Rot in Hell

@zipdoa So why is it blamed on the war on drugs? Its not like he didnt know what would happen should he pilot a stolen helicoptor filled with drugs.
