Thanks Tink..i'm now up and running .. i will turn to your songs for inspiration.. i hope you are having a great new year too... the days are getting lighter, the sun is a little higher in the sky and the snow drops are appearing.. the hard yards of winter is now behind us..
Truly something special about a train song. Really liked your take of this one, Mike. Sure sounds like you sure got it right to me. All the best. ~ Mark
Cheers Mark.. trust me there are a lot of out takes on the desk top.. a missed note here, odd word there.. its frustrating fun.. regards and best wishes..
Love it...I dont normally like 'gospel' type songs but this has a 'Southern America' feel to it thats really good to listen to. Anyway...why should God have all the good music? Ha! Very well played Mike really enjoy listening to you play it inspires me to blow the dust of my guitar and have a go. This is particularly complicated and I see what you mean about re-takes but well worth the effort. Thanks for sharing your songs. Always a pleasure to check your channel. Best wishes. Steve.
Can't say I've ever heard this one before, but then I probably haven't heard a lot of Arlo's songs. The one's I've heard I like, though, and this is no exception! I can see you were have a little difficulty with it, but it was a good attempt!
great cover of this song! very appealing....hey, my offer for free lyrics still holds...I've got ten being sung right now by performers here in the Bay Area of SF...they'ed suit you, and they're on my blog for free! on account of I'm 66, and am droppin all these short stories and lyrics off my old apple tree like sweet and spicey windfalls!...just let me know, and I'll send you the blog address...see you in the song! Kat
I absolutely love Arlo Guthrie...have been listening to him since I was just a kid...in all these years, through all the miles, he is still making wonderful music and passing it on through generations of family & friends. I adore your version of this song....your playing is just beautiful! Thanks for another gem.
Arlo looks really cool on TY.. I remember playing Alice's Restaurant -(massacree).. To death.. I still have the vinyl. Great story, great song, great song writer..

If I dare say: it sounds even better than Arlo's version, but that is probably do to his accent that sometimes takes the overhand in some songs.
He, I am a fan of Arlo; more so of Steve Goodman, well, I'm a fan of almost everyone who does guitar picking.
This is a nice version of the song.
