Let me hear some of these cheese balls out there today try to even come close to producing any type of music close to what these fellas did. Totally mind blowing music. Ahhhh the good ol' days
Its a February morning in Michigan, cold, but the sun is shining. I'm sitting at the computer and this song pops into my head. Does anybody make music like this anymore? I think I can make it 'til spring now. I'm feelin' satisfied.
I agree with all who say " Don't Look Back" was not as good as Boston's debut album which was a masterpiece. But his has to be one of the best feel-good rock songs of all time.
Don't Look Back was a real disappointment to me, I mean the debut was one of the greatest albums of all time, and that's a hard act to follow. But still only half the songs on Don't Look Back (Including this one) are worthy of being called Boston songs. I just wish they hadn't faded so fast.
Rock "N Roll heaven is my channel, with a great selection of Classic Rock (real music) for every one to enjoy with out having to hunt down good quality videos :)
This band, genre, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and some other bands of their time I've heard have made me wanna drum. Plus doing a drumming session one day at bible camp this summer. Awesome song!
Yes I Know I'm A Journey Fan But I Like Boston Too .Just Bought All Their CD's And This Is On My Greatest Hits . Tom Scholz To Me Sounds Very Simular To Neal Schon And The Late Brad Delp Was A Better Singer Then Most People Gave Him Credit !!
@steelersjourney It's the other way around. Neal Schon adopted Tom Scholz's signature sound when Steve Perry showed up and wanted to write arena-rock anthems.
@uofm97 Well Boston Were Probably The First AOR Group And Tom Scholz's Was The First To Play That Way .Neal Schon Become More Popular Because Of Steve Perry's Voice Which Did Journey .Plus Don't Forget That He Also Play Along Carlos Santana !!
@steelersjourney Yep, he did. I wasn't knocking Neal since I do like his playing but a lot of people tend to think of Neal as the inventor of the sound that became known as arena-rock since he did become more popular, mostly because it never took Journey 8 years to record albums! lol
@uofm97 I Know You Weren't And I Was Just Going To Say Journey Was Pumping Out An Album Almost Every Year While Boston Like One Every 5 If That .And It Kinda Goes Both Ways Schon Took Scholz's Idea Or Copied It .But Boston And Just About Every Other AOR Band Copied Journey .After Releasing The Super Ballade "Open Arms" ,Foreigner Did "I Want To Know What Loves Is " REO Speed Wagon Did "Can't Fight This Feeling" And Then Boston With "Amanda" !!
@steelersjourney Yes, that is true. When something becomes popular, all the labels want their versions of the same thing. It's the nature of the business.
Oh I Forgot Styx With "Babe" .The Other Thing I Wanted To Say But I Ran Out Of Space Last Time Is Today's Music Can't Touch Those Songs With A 10 Foot Pole If You Know What I Mean !!
@GhostsInMyAttic No kidding, right? To be recognized by a guy like Carlos at that age.......I would've been on top of the world and never left. He'd have to literally kick me out of the band to get me to leave. :)
@vitoduval R u listening to him singing. Limited range? WHAT!!! Put the pipe down son. It's frying your brain. He hits notes singers only dream of hitting. Come on if your going to comment at least make it somewhat knowledgeable. No range, I still can't beleive you wrote that about Brad the singing canary. IMO
@crazeyboii678 You think that's bad? I live in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, and the only rock station that played rock, has changed into EASY LISTENING! PATHETIC!
@chuck79able Ha! It does indeed -- even though it's one of only two songs off their 2nd album that I like, whereas on their 1st I liked every song EXCEPT two. :)
@sammerdude4656 I think you meant this is way better than ALL the crap on the radio nowadays. I recall hearing this as a young teenager back in 1979 and thinking music will never get better than this.
@owlman1963 Let me enlighten you, then. Justin Bieber is a teenaged "singer" from Canada. Why he's so damn popular? Because all the little girlies think he's "cute". It's not his music they care about, just his looks. Please save yourself by listening to my advice: Don't....I repeat....DO NOT....listen to his music. Your ears will bleed. That is all.
True story: Most of this band's songs put a smile on my face, every time I hear them. They're just THAT awesome! I know everyone's read comments like this before but, I'm gonna say it anyway. WHY don't we have bands like this nowadays?! I'm 19 and I feel like I don't belong in this generation at all. It sickens me to see what's popular nowadays. Worse yet, how most people even consider it "music". Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, GTFO.
@ShadowSiren45 being a crusty 55 i have wondered if the "back in my day" syndrome had taken me over, but the sheer volume of comments by people your age verifies that today's music is mostly moose drool on plastic. thanks to all of the younger generation for having standards.
@ShadowSiren45 Might as well include Taylor Swift, Jonas Bros, Ke$ha, Rihanna, Fergie/Black Eyed Peas, St!nk & especially Katy Perry to your list of today's popular music that I find so annoying. So what if Taylor jammed w/Def Leppard on CMT's "Crossroads" last yr. She's not all that great.
That man has the strongest voice! How he gets those high a** notes. Reminds me of cruising in my GF's Mustang down the Parkway on a Friday nite when we were Seniors in HS!
A classic!!! I remember back in 79, one of my friends was drawing this in art classic!!! Love it! Still have it on LP!! God Bless Boston! Thanks for posting!!! Carry On!!!
