@michealbobby Thats a good thought, but its more likely that after a lifetime of moving all four legs when walking, its more natural for him to continue to move them as he walks forward.

The same thing happens to humans when they go from driving a standard to an automatic. Every time they go for the brake with their right foot, they also go for the clutch with their left, at least in the beginning.

When I put my boxer in my pool, he sunk and I grabbed him. I think because of their deep chests they are not swimmers. He just stands on his feet and hugs you in the water but I wouldn't leave him a lone by the pool. Your dog is smart. Can he actually swim?
