@ch606 Good luck - few complete ones were surplused out. Now they are rebuilt and used or given/sold to our allies. You'll see them sometimes on ebay, military truck sellers, or maybe craigslist. They are expensive though.....
@Jamesharro11 Good luck - these are usually rebuilt over & over and aren't surplused out. I have seen them on the auction site, but they are in poor shape and still expensive.
@nodmessenger A similar lot is right next to a main highway near me - hundreds (1000s?) of cars pass it everyday. It has no privacy fence or guard towers & trucks are parked in plain site everyday all day. How many people see the old MVs there? How many people take a pic? How many know the location of the lot.
If they were new and not released in service yet, then I'd agree. These MVs are 20+ yrs old and are sold or given away to our allies. I doubt the risks are as high as you feel.
yea I love army vehicles. Do give information to terrorists, or even just crazy people that would love to destroy and do harm to US soldiers and equipment. Take a look at the history of the US in the 1960s. With militants and terrorist groups during that time.
Well...I doubt they will be sold on GL anytime soon. These are stored at the National Guard lot - not the Government Liguidation lot as I though before. We probably couldn't afford one anyway!!
Why how much do they USUALLY go for? Yeah im sure it depends on what condition they're in but from your experience just on average how much? 18K? So they're not GL just sitting there?
No, I was told these are at the National Guard lot, instead. GL is very close by. Maybe they are going to be shipped out for rebuilding. I read 1 non-runner sold on GL for over $10k. A runner probably would just be rebuilt & reissued.
Yeah OSHKOSH has a refit contract for them and the older tow truck (M911?). But 10K for a non-runner? Yikes thats a little high. I just joined steelsoldiers and am impressed with all the restoration projects going on there especially on the HEMTTS. Truly a labor of love.
Still i gotta have one!
Been keeping that to myself for years now but im getting close to having the money and the facility to refit one.
Is this a Guard or reserve base?

Yeah, the M911s bring a premium when they are sold too. Some companies have them for sale - seems like the ones ready for use bring around $60K!!
I'm on SS too, and they are great guys, It's fun just to read their stories and see the pics.
