Do find time to use and review these products: NubianSecretsONLINE They seem to work wonderfully for my daughter & her friends with "Locs".The basic concept seems to be ..Cleansing & Conditioning! Especially for folks with intricate Braid styles, who don't want to take their braids down. One item has "FOAM" to soak in and then be rinsed out. Works great and saves a lot of time! • Wow...great video and amazing information...many thanks for posting!

  • i really love the pics in this video!

  • If ANYONE can answer this, please do! With doing a bit of research (specifically with moisturizing & sealing the hair) I've learned that oils are typically best used when sealing in moistureinto the hair. My question is, is putting oils into maybe a homemade product before sealing or maybe as an addition to a conditioner or something basically defeating the sealing purpose of the oils (especially considering most oils don't penetrate in the hair)? I hope this makes sense!

  • @pinkkizzez120 oil is the lubricant, so you can mix oils. I don't mix oils with conditioner though like some do. For instance, I mix in order of amount: shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, and orange essential oil. I apply my shea mix AFTER I have sprayed my hair with distilled water and aloe vera juice to seal in the moisture (distilled water and aloe vera juice). Instead of using the distilled water and aloe vera juice, some would just use conditioner (water based).

  • @msfittful Thank you so much for answering this!

  • What do you use as a presrevative in your hair butters? Thanks

  • What a great video! I have naturally curly hair. essential oils are awesome. I use Rosemary and jojoba and rub it into my scalp. Wonderful aromatherapy too.

  • Hey y'all, I'm living in jamaica and I can get you black castor oil. This product has been used by Arabian women to grow their lashes long! So if any of you are interested let me know!

  • @donnmarie I would love to have that black Jamaica Castor oil, please let me know how much it cost.

  • Very thorough! and I was really digging the music too :0)

  • my hair has grown back at a rapid pace in just doing this. I cant wait until it the length I want it to be so that I can train my natural hair and wear it out. I will NEVER again in life get another perm. Many of us simply dont need it. We think we do, but we dont. I think it will be nice to be able to wear it curly or strait as I choose. our hair is more managable than we think it is. we just have to take the time to learn how to care for it. Its scarry at first but so worth it!

  • @atlantaluxe which of these oils do you use? which ones do you like the best? because i definitely want to try these. :D

  • @atlantaluxe oh forgot to ask: how do you use the oils??

  • For those of you who are wondering how to go natural, its very simple. I am all natural now after wearing a perm in my hair since the age of 12 (Im 34) I am not a fan of the big chop because I am too girlie to have a boyish hair style. I chose to get braids and wore them until the perm grew out. I dont reccomend this because i caused my hair damage by pulling on my temples and when they trimmed the braids it made my hair uneven. Get a full sew in weave and press he part thats exposed.

  • @atlantaluxe so I'm trying to use all nat. products but I'm lost. Nat. so called products seem to be drying my hair out opposed to the commercial stuff. what should i do? coconut oil turns my hair dry after a day or so. And I'm air drying my thick hair.

  • don't use coconut oil during colder months. It will get hard in colder temp.

  • What a great video very informative thanks

  • coconut oil is an essential too..its awesome!!

  • This video is very helpful! Thank you!

  • can white girls use this

  • yes...alot of these oils are in popular hair and skin products already....if you want to make your own natural products, these essential oils are just a starting point....

  • yes. you can use them as a hot oil treatment.

  • This video doesn't help. Does one just rub it in the hair and thats it or is it after one washes it????

    Yet another lazy attempt.

  • You can rub these oils onto the scalp, hair shaft and ends before or after a shower. You can use the oil on your hair every day to condition and treat it. Just make sure you never put an essential oil onto your skin, scalp or hair by itself. They are too strong. Essential oils must be put into a carrier or base oil such as olive, almond, jojoba, etc. You don't need to wash it out because it needs to penetrate into your hair and scalp in order to benefit you. It really will benefit you.

  • @godschildyes huh? can you can't put just coconut or olive oil in your hair by itself?

  • Olive and coconut oils are base oils nikkikk19! Please read what I wrote again or watch the video again.

  • watchin video... listenin to the song... words starts n realize i understand it... shout out to all my Haitians

  • the music was disturbing 2 me but thanks for the tips

  • love the music!

  • Wow! This is very helpful! And the pictures are beautiful!!!!!!!!! I luv me ppl:o)

  • THANKYOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

  • my daughter and I would love to go natural. How can we go by doing that?We still have a little perm in our hair.

  • You guys can just stop getting perms n just let your hair grow out until it reaches(transition) a length ur comfortable with and then u just cut off the perm ends. If you have any questions ill be glad to help.

  • I love this video! I've been looking for some oils to put in my hair so it stays healthy...the winter has been somewhat harsh on the east coast this year.

This song is on iTunes just type in "Manman Dada" in the search..and an album called "Salsa Creole" should come up along with the single "Manman Dada". Just for those who were wondering. :)

  • True that.

  • thanks for the video. Where is the source of your information. I would like to know more. Is there a website that explains these things and the benefits for hair??

  • Love the vid and the music too!

  • great video, would you please tell me the name of song you used in your video.

  • That was GREAT!

    Thank-you!

  • thank you!

  • Absolutely love the video. Please keep it up

  • great post; marked it as a fav.

you posted it on my birthday!!! :-)

  • Thanks for posting! Great info. Love the song. Whose the artist?

  • I just posted a vid about promoting hair growth to my "weak" areas and I was sent to this vid. I'm already sub'd to you, guess I missed this one. lol. thanks for the info!

  • love the song. didnt know i could use cedar oil!!!

  • Yaaay, the guy at 2.53 has exactly the same kind of texture as me! First time I've seen it so close!

  • I hear coconut oil is great too.

  • Isn't the info in the beginning inaccurate? In the carrier oil introduction part it says that "rich in proteins". Vegetable oils are supposed to be 100% fat so you can't really state that. Also the vitamin and nutrient content varies.

Don't get me wrong, pure organic vegetable oils are wonderful and very good for the skin. I also use vegetable oil + EO mixes. They really can energize you or relax, depending which EOs you are using :) Just make sure that the oils really are certified organic!

  • french salsa? Cool!!

  • ok granted thanks for this vid its full of eo knowledge. and i am on the hunt for some raw shea butter so i can make up my own whipped concotion with someof these essential oils in it. because i tried a bit of whipped butter someone had and my hair does not feel and sound like sandpapper ( yippie!!!) but my hidden reason for adding this vid to my page.. is ... yeah u guessed right. THE SONG!!! AHH ITS SO RELAXING.. LIKE AROMATHERAPY FOR THE EARS!!!

  • gurl first i wanna say that i absolutely love this video. we are BEAUTIFUL! and i wanna ask where do you reccomend i get these natural oils from? i know we're probably not in the same state but are there some websites i might try or maybe a health food store. let me know sistah. Peace!

  • oh...i know this song is in haitian kreyole...but who sings this and what't the title...

  • meant to say *wish, haha funny. I just realized someone posted a comment to who the artist is. :)

  • I LOVE THIS SONG :) which I knew the artist. Belle ti maman dada :) Merci MsBrice!

  • Great Video! Very informative!

  • I love this video! It is so good to see the rise and use of God's essential oils. It is the only way to go! pastorstraw

  • Is it safe to mix more than one EO with the carrier oil?

  • I think Olive Oil is the best for me.

  • What...no COCONUT OIL??? msbrice, I watched the video 3x's hoping I'd missed something, but I was amazed to see you had not listed coconut oil in your video. Especially since many black women SWEAR by it :-)

  • i know i went back in the vid and i was like where is the coconut oil!! lol

  • msbrice

where can I get aloe vera oil for my hair??? is it expensive??

  • you can get aloe vera gel at any pharmacy or health food store. It shouldn't be that expensive.

  • sooo informative..and i luv this song! who sings it?

  • Unfortunately, I can't find the name of the guy who sings this song :-(. But the language is Haitian Creole.

  • damn :(..yea i kno..im haitian

  • the song is: Manman Dada - Boulo Valcourt

  • That was a great informative video. I'll be looking into some, especially the tea tree oil.

  • Thanks. Make sure you but 100% essential oil. Some stores (like the body shop) sell them, but only at 15%. So read the label!

  • 15% wow. I'll be sure to check the label then.

  • 15% wow. I'll be sure to check the label then.

  • Very enlightening. Thanks for the info.

  • thanks for the oil info! i learned a lot of jewels!

  • Great video...do you know the benefits of Vitamin E oil. I bought some today and am hoping one of the benefits is hair growth.

  • Vitamin E increases oxygen uptake, which improves circulation to the scalp. It improves health and growth of hair. Since hair health is tied to the immune health, vitamin E is believed to stimulate hair growth by enhancing the immune function.

Dosage: Start with 400 IU daily and slowly increase to 800-1,000 IU daily.

  • do you mean ingest the vit e or put it in ur hair that way? i have 400 i.u sofgels.

  • Vitamin E is good internally and externally. But if you take the softgels, don't take them for more than 1 month otherwise they stop working.

  • @msbrice Thanks for the info...are you taking the vitamin E ever other month?

  • Thanks for sharing this video. It was nice and very educating.

  • Thanks...I needed this...and by the way I'm lovin the song:)

  • He's singing in Haitian Creole!

  • wow, thanks msbrice! very useful!

  • Best vid I HAVE SEEN on this subject! BRAVO!

  • I second that :-) Very informative!!

  • Thanks for that comment.

  • Ur welcome! I mean it!

  • You're the best! Thanks:)
