  • There is a reason the English used to send pipers in to recently acquired colonies. 18th century shock and awe, so to speak.

  • hey morgul(if you now me)im mike from holland...i maby now you by ps3 alien vs predator 3 my ps3 account is amstafftara if you now me plz leave a message

  • dear god, it would have benn a hell of a lot better without that woman yapping in the background

  • There is another song in the mix as well from 0:51 to 1:31. The other song is called the Minstrel Boy.

  • Very stirring.

  • this is probably as close as you would ever get to see the gathering of the clans as it was centuries ago

  • Imagine a few centurys ago this troop came over a mountain with this battle hymn. I would have pissed my pants.

  • Where are filming?? You sound American.. None the less.. I love the music, regardless of what it means for my elders.. It is a great sound for me.......!!!!!!!.......

  • @mitchellfiona21 I saw this posted ages ago and I think it's either in Canada or at Hunter Mountain NY.

  • What was the occasion?

  • Wot a racket ;-) from a mis-placed Scot ;-)

  • Ahhh. Marching down that mountain was always such a cluster-fuck. I loved it though. Good times.

  • Not only can you hear the pipers before you can see them, but even from that distance and on just a hand held camera you can feel the thunder of the drums. If I heard and then saw that coming towards me before the start of a battle I would lay down my arms and tell Scotland they could have it.

  • when and what was this event??

  • way to ruin the 1000 pipers lady, geez, why didn't she just shut up and let them do the playing so we could all hear it.

  • Didn't see a single Lion Rampant or soltaire , what a pity ;/

  • they finish their course with an américain flag at least ...!!!!

  • Wha's Like Us

  • woooooow. im crying now....... at 0:35 until the end.... thanks to share.... merci de partagé...

  • wow... That's power...

  • i have never see bevor the brave with so much pipes!!!greatfull!greatings from germany

  • the dislikes must be bloody irishmen.

  • @worseto1

Only a bigot would say that irish and scots get on all over the world but the mindless idiot like your self lets down the scots and know dout you are a fan of a team wich will soon no longer exist. Why dont you ask the people around the world of your views on irish people so they can see what you stand for . A BIGOT

  • i am Scottish ,we moved to England when i was 2, i always taught my children that Scotland was in there blood . last new year my eldest son said to me ""dad i saw the pipers at a new year rave ,for the first time .the hairs on the back of my neck stood up !i was dumbstruck,i felt a rush of blood,of emotion,of pride, yet im English!!"" what was going on ? i said son, scotland is in your blood..he looked at me and said "ahh now i know what you mean"..........job done !!

  • @bibleanswerman1000 But never forget where you grew up.

  • @bibleanswerman1000 heck I'm only half Scott on my mothers side and I've always loved the sound of the pipes. it's deep blood

  • @bibleanswerman1000 Does that mean that im also Scottish? :)

  • @Kebabsauwz ....well my kids are half Scottish from me , where does the Scottish in your blood come from ??

  • @bibleanswerman1000 I don't know, maybe it was brought by the wind.. Becuse every time a hear a bagpipe I get a enormous goosebump & just feel like doing salute.

  • @Kebabsauwz reading your comments ,there is a case for you being full of wind ,but i cant explain why you feel the way you do when you hear the pipes ,all i know is when Scotland is in your blood ,there is a connection ! maybe you fell it ,maybe you don't .....but you know what mate ,never underestimate the effect of the pipes on a Scottish heart.

  • In the Year of our Lord 1314, patriots of Scotland - starving and outnumbered - charged the fields of Bannockburn. They fought like warrior poets; they fought like Scotsmen, and won their freedom.

  • The hair on the back of my neck rises and I get a chill just listening to this. I can only imagine the sort of boost it would give marching into battle.

  • THIS IS AWESOME! Almost looks like they are really coming over the hill to go into battle! =D

  • And Minstrel Boy is in there. Nice.

  • @AgentFisher About 50 sec in?

  • imagine in 1812 a scotish line where walking to battle whit 2 bagpipe in front of them and on of the bagpipe got shot

the dude playing it must be the firts one to get the the battle

  • MOTHER SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • SCOTLAND FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 5 brits watched this.

  • @VeohXni Were you born a fucking retard or did the violent sexual abuse damage your head?

  • @ArchbishopOfCombat18 Nope, just trolling, waiting for idiots like you to respond. xD

  • @VeohXni Don't lie, you're American, you had a look at a map after reading my comment.

  • @ArchbishopOfCombat18 I wasn't born in America you twit. You are clearly an idiot, making the assumption that because I live in America I know nothing. You have failed miserably AND fallen for my trolling, how does that make you feel? What childish comment will you respond with? Americans are stupid, lazy, fat, ignorant, the ass of the world? Be original if you can manage. I am immune to ignorant people like you. xD

  • @VeohXni Ignorant is calling all Americans stupid, lazy, fat, and ignorant. There are plenty of those types in every country.

  • @VeohXni Scots are technically 'Brits'. You mean English.

  • @BlueonGoldZ I am aware that scots are technically Brits. That was the joke in my first post.

  • god damn we are the people,,, SCOTLAND

  • Amazing video i am soooooooooo proud 2 b scottish.....best people in the world

  • SCOTLAND BY BLOOD BY BIRTH

  • i love this type of bagpipe music cause it gets my blood flowing and me psyched.thanx for sharing this.

  • Something about the pipes. Mythical, spiritual, eternal, warrior like, and above all poetic!

  • You can't compete with this. If I were an opposing army, I would definitely run. But since I love pipes, I would rather wake up to this once in a while. If there is one thing I could experience over and over, it is waking up to bagpipes in the middle of a forest on a dewy summer morning.

  • the all conquering english armies of the past feared these war pipes so much there music was forbidden for hundreds of years but our ancestors still played the music defiantly, where is the defiance now all i can see is people commenting here full of shitty nasty comments aimed at your own people the tactics of the elite are working divide and conquer irish scottish welsh english we are all of the same blood unite people wake up humanity is being raped by a powerful few ask yourself who am i

  • you can count the yanks by the fucking "WOOOP!" thing that they do

  • thats what im doing mother!!!

  • hell, ppl in australia..could here this..

  • 10000* c trop extra

  • Billliant mate leave mother at home next time lol

  • Even the entire Highland Pipers brigade couldn't drown out the din of the mother-in-law...

  • stupendo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow. Here is a swede that whish that I had a kilt.

  • I love Scotland, always have, always will, no matter what happens.

Scotland is just as important in the United Kingdom as England is, so someone remind me why bloody parliment is in England?!

  • @TheAndrewNorrie1 Our King James decided to set up in the largest of the three Realms. The monarch still spends time around the country and a large part of the year in Scotland. I absolutely love the culture from all around the British Isles, my Grandmother was Scottish, I have some Irish in me from before that and the rest is English (although close to Welsh border so possible to have some Welsh blood also). I consider myself British and let's face it, can't beat the bagpipes :)

  • @MrBushWookiee well I understand that, but It just doesnt make sence to me why Scotland hates being in the UK so much, and the NI have been clamouring for reform! There has to be a solution to this!? UKs culture will survive throughout the generations, but if something isnt done soon, the countries wont! And that is a terrible thought for me to wrap my mind around

  • @TheAndrewNorrie1 People I've spoken to over the last few weeks have said they would rather Scotland stay but it's their choice. I think people identify with their constitutional countries first (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England) more so than Britain as a whole. But when they sit and think about their grandfathers who served under the Union Flag, what we was able to do once we united together etc, they begin to notice how much of Britain they connect with.

  • @MrBushWookiee Well yes of course, I only call it Great Britain when I refer to the islands as a whole, but I identify the countries by themselfves if refering to an individual one. Your a smart one, I agree fully. If only we could stay united but tweak the Union laws just a wee bit as to make everyone happy! I want the United Kingdom, and all the countries in her to survive and flourish!

(All though if Scotland was to become independant, there would be one hell of a party!)

  • Celts Forever!

  • tell mother shutup.

  • this is why we killed the ninth legend

  • @Theostyn1 Who killed the ninth?

  • Thete is no nation more nationalistic than scotland

  • This would be soooo much better if MOTHER would shut the fuck UP!!!!!!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • It's "The Minstrel Boy" then it goes into "Scotland the Brave" and back to "The Minstrel Boy"

  • It's "The Minstrel Boy" NOT "Scotland the Brave."

  • Mom: This would be great on a movie. Has anyone ever taken a moving picture of this?

Son: That's what I'm doing mother....

    Mom: Is it moving?

    Son: Yes....

Had to chuckle a little at that exchange. Typical mom comments. Reminded me of my own.

  • Goddamn... Now I will have bad dreams about thousands of scotish people, marching through england and the netherlands into germany with this song. Who should stop them? The world will be controlled by scotland one day.

    But still a great song!

  • do you know how to use the zoom?

  • WOW

  • Oh Motherrrrrrrrr

  • I was a US Marine and i fought along side the Scotish Troops and we marched into battle to this song. Even though we were different nationalities but that day we were one.

  • @megamanxv marshing into battle with music? Was this war against Napoleon or what?

  • @megamanxv thank you for everything you have done for our country we salute you

  • @megamanxv AMEN AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! I AM AN AMERICAN OF SCOTCH,IRISH AND HILLBILLY HERITAGE. I NEVER JOINED THE MILITARY WHEN I HAD THE CHANCE BUT I WISH I HAD AND I SUPPORT AND AM PROUD OF ALL WHO HAVE.

  • get such a feeling of pride when listening to this..

cant get enough of hearing Scotland the brave

  • @sabertoothray

You're the long lost brother of the Demoman from TF2.

  • @sabertoothray This music inspires the heart...whatever color or nationality you may be. ;o)

  • DUNNO!

  • The pipes have a call to the Scotsman that is unexplainable...crank up the Enola Gay and lets do battle.....

  • when she said, "marching into battle", it almost made me cry~ i was already sobbing from another Scotland the Brave video~

  • is this an yearly event? If so - Where and when? This stuff gives me goosebumps all over me, even in the face.

  • @spadenn They play this at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo every year I think. It's always on BBC2.

  • im english, but i LOVE the sound of bagpipes, they're amazing.

  • one of my favorite songs Go Scotland

  • ICan you imagine hearing this tune thinking like "this cant be good..." you see a giant army marching over the hill and shitting your pants. This must be very demoralizing as opposing army and good for the morale for the scots..

  • @Legionairius807 yea it is

  • thats wat im doing mom! lol :D

  • if you were going to war against the scots , man you would be afraid hearing this from a mile away not knowing what it was

  • First verse of the Irish Ballad;

The minstrel boy to the war is gone, in the ranks of death you will find him.

His father's sword he had girded on, and his wild harp slung behind him.

"Land of song" said the warrior bard, "though all the world betrays thee"

"One sword at least, thy rights shall guard, one faithfull harp shall praise thee."

;The minstrel fell but the foe-mans chains, could not bring his proud soul under.

  • @beirbuadh OK Get the msg ,,, keep ure thoughts in bitter ireland ,,, scotland the brave !!!!

  • This is IRISH too. The other tune is called 'The Minstrel Boy' which is of course, an Irish battle tune. Not trying to take away from the Scots. Scotland and Ireland are sisters. The Irish brought Gaelic culture to Scotland. Google 'Dál Ríada' to find out more. The pipes were banned in Ireland, the ban was never lifted, so our pipes evolved into Uillean pipes. The ban in Scotland only lasted 12 years after the '46, then incorporated into the British army. Now everyone thinks it's soley Scottish

  • @beirbuadh You'll find Welsh Gael is as much embedded in Scottish language and as much in culture as the Irish Celts managed.

  • Man, too awesome, I am First Nations and we are warriors..If I had to go to war and possibly die..I would have no prob doing it in this way!! Very nice!!
