Apparently Jack Arute will NOT be a pit reporter for ABC in 2010. He will be with Versus (whoever can watch), but for the first time since 1983 he will not be a pit reporter for the TV broadcast of the Indy 500. If it's true, that is a sad commentary IMO.
Was Jack absent from this (1999) Indy 500? If so, why? He wasn't in St. Louis for the CART Motorola 300, either.
Robby was behind Jacques on the restart. When Goodyear jumped the start, Jacques lifted off the throttle and checked Robby, which cost him momentum and dropped him down the order. Whether it cost him the race is another matter.
@racermac1988 What's the big fucking deal? I've never understood why you americans are so damn sensetive about curse words. Also, I can't see why "shit" is a curse word in the first place.
Here in Sweden we'd think it would be rather strange if someone like Robby, who was so close to win but lost, wouldn't curse about it.
There are moments when I actually am proud to be Swedish.

And for the 3rd year in a row on the broadcast, someone cusses live on ABC.
At 3:33, Robby Gordon drops a pretty good one.

Who cursed on TV in the 1998 Indy 500? Was it A.J. when one of his guys (Billy Boat?) ran out of fuel?
FrodothePuppet 2 years ago
No, Tony Stewart did after he blew the car up.

Now I remember! Didn't he say that his dream was to win the Indy 500 and "every year I get shit on doing it"?
